Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Hey all, I just signed up for this forum to say I just ordered a Ploom Pax!

I purchased a MFLB a while ago and I used reddit + this forum to read reviews and saw it was a great and cheap vaporizer. I will probably keeping it as a backup or selling it to a friend for like $40 or so. It has served me well and I took good care of it.

I decided to pick this one up and put an order for a black one using VapeWorld and was extremely surprised to have an email saying that it already shipped! That is some service, considering it said orders go out Aug 1st or something.

I'm not a heavy user but I like to engage in some late night solo vaping at most once or twice a week

that wasn't a shipping notification, it was an update letting you know the item is backordered. follow the link in the email and type in your order number and email, heres what you'll see:

i just got this email from vapeworld after telling them planet vape has been aloud to ship to australia....

Planet Vape is not a distributor of Pax. Please beware of companies falselt advertising Pax by Ploom.
The ONLY distributors are: Vape World, Ploom, Vapor Experts and Head Change. No other company will be able to sell this, but some are fraudulently taking pre-orders.
you recon planet vape is bullshitting or vape world just doesn't want to loose a customer?

I gotta assume one of those companies is a distributor for lhs' b/c I ordered my pax through my lhs. they acutally had one on order before I got there and I just put a deposit on it. otherwise uh oh the warranty might not be valid

ihs? Sorry im relatively new to this. And so do you recon stay away from it if thats what vape world says or ignore them and do it if planet vape say the warrenty is valid?

I looked in to it. Here is the news from VapeWorld:

Black units: The black have arrived and pre-orders are starting to ship.
Blue/Purple units: There was a slight delay in the manufacturing. They are going to be shipped out starting on the 15th of August.
Accessories: The mouthpieces, screens and other accessories will start shipping the 15th of August as well.

I think they still have some black units... although I am not sure. I can ask tomorrow when customer service opens back up.

Mine arrived today. Nice packaging and build quality. Easy to use. Feels great in the hand. The flavor is just OK. There's no plastic taste, but because it's conduction some bits get dark faster and produce a sort of burnt flavor before all of it is up to temp. So far I feel like it isn't as efficient as a log vape. It cooks the herb even when you're not drawing. Pretty impressive for a portable, though. The medium temperature was just about right for me.

This is how I feel about the Solo and which is why I won't consider the pax anymore. I am curious if the Inhalater is susceptable to this as well since it has a conduction component as well apparently.

First things first, FC is fuckin' RAD! I just found it and spent all of yesterday and most of today lurking.

And many thanks to SliM. Your reviews (and everyone's feedback) helped me to make a very informed decision about the pax. Awesome community.

Back to business- I just ordered the pax from vw. As of about 6:30 PST today, they still had some inventory in the onyx pax (based on livechat w/cs). It's scheduled to arrive on my doorstep 8/1 and I was still able to get free shipping.

FYI, I was also able to use the "5-off-12" code to get 5% off.

Indeed I have one. It is a good device. I will be covering that one as well. They are both good devices.

I went to do the voice over for the cleaning video but my iPad 3 needed to be charged.... man those things take a long time to charge. I should get to filming the review tonight. I am so excited. The new camera I got does some killer footage.

I doubt Planet Vape is going to compromise their reputation over getting sales on a single vape. They have a pretty solid reputation and I discussed the Pax with them in advance of them having it available ... all seems to be on the up and up to me. Personally, I trust PV, more than some "other vendors", and I think that's absurd that they should cast accusations like that ... a reputable company should instead try to focus on the postive service they can provide as opposed to trying to show the competition in a negative light ... if everyone conducts themselves in an honest and ethical manner there is more than enough business to go around.

So are you saying if they are shipping to New Zealand then it is 100% legit? cas i got a email from ploom saying no1 is shipping the pax out of the US and canada. Very curious cas i just want to get my hands on one!

We are 100% legit and we buy our PAX's through authorized channels just like everyone else and stand behind what we sell. Not sure why Vapeworld would say that, we will contact them tomorrow to clear things up.

Yes we do offer free Expedited Shipping in Canada as we are not permitted to sell the PAX in the USA (sorry to our US customers), but have been told we are allowed to sell internationally. Seems like some inconsistent information regarding international sales, we will double check again. We are not sure yet if the PAX's charger will work at 220-230volts and are waiting for an official answer as to compatibility at those voltages.

We also include a FREE random color Dime Bags storage/travel bag with every PAX. The Dime Bag fits perfect and is nicely padded.

those are some rubber neon electrode boots, just lucky to have some laying around and i cant believe they are a perfect fit.

I just shot the cleaning video. I am super pleased with the results. I need to drop them in the computer and edit them. My battery is running low though, so I need to recharge before I import any footage. I will get to work on it tomorrow morning when the camera is good to go. I also expect to film the video review tomorrow as well.

People should be getting their hands on their units soon, I expect a few of you will get them tomorrow even!

Sweet. I can't wait to see your videos. A few got a sneak peak of the cleaning video. I am even more pleased with the final result. It is uploading to the YouTubes now. It should be ready in about an hour. The review video should be ready tomorrow sometime. I still have to film the part where I sit in front of the camera and do the talking... those parts make me a little nervous. I am just not used to being in front of the camera yet. Each time though it gets a little easier, and goes a little smoother.

Donald, As Planet Vape have said that Ploom allow them to export to down-under, I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll inform us that Oz and NZ 230 voltage won't be a problem.
