It will be interesting to see if we do get the Pax in Australia in August as advised by Au.Vapes - especially now that Pax have advised 'Right now, we are only selling in United States and Canada, but will be expanding in the future.'
Me too! Altho I am in NZ we share the same power plugs. Cant wait tbh this looks so promising

Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly?
'Right now, we are only selling in United States and Canada, but will be expanding in the future.'

I've just emailed australianvaporizers, asking them to inform me when they'll be stocking the Pax (and the Inhalater INH004). When I receive a reply, I'll post their answer. Meanwhile, I trust our lucky American and Canadian fellow vaporizer aficionados will spare a thought for us back-of-the-queue Aussies and Kiwis down-under.

Not sure if it helps your cause, but the INH004 is also on eBay.

Thanks vape4life. I've never bought from eBay, but there's always a first time, so maybe.

(Australian Vaporizers always provide 5-star service, so I'll wait till they reply to my query.)

Few weeks ago you said you need some time to judge whether it's better than DaVinci or not. So to whom does the final vote go to?

Also, I had some questions if you could answer:

1. Do we need to wait between hits? If yes, for how much time? Wouldn't this be an issue if it's a group of 3-4 people?
2. Does it make any difference because it's a conduction vape? What would have been different if it was convection?

@SliM It'd be a great help if you could answer those questions :)

Yeah it's got a lot of mixed reviews.. Hopefully the pax will be better.. cause I'm keen on an efficient pocketable easy to use battery powered vape. Or maybe even the Inhalater. Love to see some comparison of the 2!

1.)I wait a couple of seconds between hits. I feel 5-10 seconds helps build up a thicker hit. I don't like to chain hit the PAX, I like to give my throat time to cool down between hits. This is true with any portable or dry I use. I tend to give myself a few moments between hits to let my throat recover. I think it would do okay in a group of people. You might have to load the oven a couple times while you are passing it around for everyone to be "Satasfied". I think the PAX would work better then the Solo in a group situation.
2.) Conduction does not provide as good of flavor for the last quarter of the bowl. You need to stir the oven regularly if you want to maintain an even ABV. Convection would reduce the need to stir so much. Conduction can work as long as the flowers are exposed evenly along the heating element.

I am working on the video review some tonight. It is really coming down to the wire. The video review might be done tomorrow, although the written review might take a little longer. I forgot I am going to see a show tomorrow evening. I might wait to publish the review until I get back. That way I can have one more experience with the PAX in what I consider to a situation that I need a portable for.

Well, if possible please include a DaVinci comparison in it too! Thanks for all your help!

Elvis, everyusername, and other Aussie and Kiwi members, I'm sorry to inform you, Australian Vaporizers reply was disappointing:

"We had assumed we were going to get the Pax as we had some early discussion’s . . . Ploom has restricted the sales territory to a domestic market. I am told they are still negotiating the possibility of servicing international markets . . . We tried really hard to get some stock but it looks like we are going to be missing out for a while down here."

If you're prepared to settle for a different portable model, Australian Vaporizers stock an excellent selection, at competitive prices, with first rate service.

When the going gets tough, the tough get vaping. Kim Jong-Un :uhoh:

I wanted to update everyone here. I wanted to get the review published today. I forgot I had a theatre event to go to this evening. It delayed had delayed the review going live until tomorrow. I am really sorry about that. I hate having to go back on my last deadline. I just totally spaced and forgot about this event tonight. On the bright side it will give me one more last chance to use the device in what I consider to be the optimal environment to test a portable. Again I am sorry to have to delay the official review.

Are you kidding? You don't owe us anything SliM and we greatly appreciate your efforts! You take your time and post it when you're ready to, and thanks again, and enjoy the event!

I just got my Puffit today, and as soon as my Pax gets here, hopefully on the second, I look forward to comparing the two. Now that the Puffits are landing in user's hand, there is a lot of unhappiness over on that thread. I sincerely hope the same doesn't happen here too.

I am hopefully that others will enjoy it as much as I do. I am bringing it with me every time I leave the house. I find the best way to hit the PAX is like a cigar. I get the best hits that way.

So better than the Solo? I have a Pax on the way next week from PV ... but I'm also loving my Solo again! I got an M104 (used) that doesn't chip, and it's great, and also just got an M1A as a replacement for my M105 (thanks Kevin and Arizer), and it's also great (although I think the M104 has a slight edge ... takes longer to heat up, but performs slightly better ... first opinions ... I'll post final thoughts in the Solo forums). I'm finding I can quickly vape a bowl out of my Solo (.15 or so) to completion extremely quickly now with the M104 or M1A vs the M105 ... the M105 seemed like I'd work at it forever to finish it and I'd only get little clouds ... with both the M104 and M1A I get awesome clouds!

I have only used the M107 version of the Solo. I am not a HUGE fan of the device. The airflow with the regular stems leave allot to be desired. Feels like pulling through a milkshake. Ed'sTnT makes a fantastic stem for the Solo. It really improved my opinion on the device. I just feel like the PAX is a way better portable. I leave my house with the PAX and I can't say the same about the Solo.

Thanks SliM ... Looking forward to getting one of my own. (With any luck it'll be here before I leave for vacation so I'll be on vacation with my Pax and my Solo and no Cloud so that would be a good test :))

I noticed that VapeWorld made a small change to their wording on the PAX release. It might be meaningless, but I figured I'd post it anyway...

For a long time, including when I made my preorder, the site said they would "ship when they become available on 8/1/2012".

Within the past 48 hours, they changed it to "Estimated availability date: August 1st, 2012".

I'm guessing the change is because they aren't sure if they will have the product right on the 1st or not. Pure speculation.

They all ready weren't sure ... I've been in discussions (might have it before, might have it after, it's not a sure thing, but they are "supposed" to have them on the 1st) Here's for hoping!

Thanks. I assumed even when I preordered that the date might be subject to change. I'm not too worried about it, I just hope it doesn't turn out like the Puffit where people are waiting near a month for their preorder.

Me too! I'm pretty confident that it shouldn't though, I don't think they would have pre-sold it if they were concerned about lengthy delays. I sent them an e-mail just to see where things are at and if they've heard anything, so I'll let you know if I hear any news back.
