Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

You should test the Ego Twist ... not the old VV units that only can reach 3.9 when the battery is full.

Thanks for the advice. I fear you're not paying attention to me either? I don't want to be in the business of testing every piece of gear that comes down the highway at my expense. Something I hope you understand?

If you check back, the OP claimed just what you said above didn't happen, he said he could get 4.2 Volts on demand.

I set out to test out a specific claim that didn't make sense to me, not what anyone else thinks I should be doing with my time and money to be blunt.

OK, fine. Again, that's not what I was testing. Not 'cheap e-cig pens' but that specific (magic) function in some of them that let him happily vape at 4.2 Volts while the rest of us were stuck with less. I think I tested that part, what I set out to do. It is not, at that level, a superior unit.

than dont pretend you have tested something you have never tested ;)

in flavor country
Just put about .5g of some ABV iso oil I made recently, in the iso washed 2.4 cart, and it's working just fine so far. Taste is pretty good for ABV oil. I like the body effect the ABV oil has. I'll post more if anything unusual happens, or if it just dies suddenly. So far all is well...

What I find interesting, now that I actually have been dabbing on a Ti and quartz nail for a bit, is now I know what my oils should taste like. When I first got the Omicron, I had not done any dabs yet, and was just starting to get into making concentrates. I had no point of reference as to how things should taste, so trying the carts for the first time, I wasn't sure if it was my oil, the cart, my lack of experience, or what, as far as how it tasted to me. Now that I have some of this under my belt, I can say that the flavor of this washed out cart is pretty close to the Ti nail I use.

Running it on my O-mini-cron w/ v2.5 top now. :D

I do not believe I 'tested the wrong one', in fact the one you suggest (while also interesting) would not have been productive to my needs.

There seems to be still some confusion here. We've been discussing three different cheap Chinese batteries with THREE DIFFERENT notions of "variable voltage" and TWO DIFFERENT "color change" "variable voltage" features - One is regulated to 3 levels, one is unregulated and the third is boost-buck "truely" variable.

OF tested one of the older common 3 level "VV" eGo clones - It changes the color of an LED ring from red (3.2v), red+blue(3.7v) and blue (4.2v). It absolutely does NOT boost the voltage of the single Lithium cell inside of itself, but rather just changes the regulation circuit to three different references (and this does give about 3.6v delivered to ecig user who are likely used to 3.3v on regulated eGo battery sticks).

The OP stated he was using an eGo-C Joyetech battery. The manual for these states that the two modes, which color change between white and orange leds, are regulated (like older Joyetech devices) to 3.3v under load and what Joyetech states is "variable voltage", but is simply unregulated. This second mode does NOT allow 4.2v, on demand, but does provide _exactly_ the same improvement a V2.5 or HVD head does on an Omicron V2 - no more and no less. (Joyetech "explains" the second modes is "variable voltage" because the voltage will vary over the battery charge, unlike their regulated 3.3v mode.)

The third battery is the Joyetech twist. This is a real cheap Chinese VV ecig which can blow clouds with Omi carts easily. Other people have posted more than enough on this one.

and by now doesn't this belong in the e-cig thread?
I think as long as we're discussing Omicron/Delta9/Warp9 's EC cartridges, it belongs in one of these related threads.

But, I'm sure other people have opinions and there may be a policy I don;t know of. Mods??

p.s. I'd like to drop it - ecig batteries work in some/many cases - nice power supplies have many advantages. And a leak proof cart is way more interesting (so would be a pressure fed tank - could that button trigger some sort of "injector" from our gearhead friend?).

Just received my lv dart in the mail. Put it in my omicron with a big dabs worth and got 3 really nice hits. May be my new at home cart until the nail cart comes out.

Ya we kept the power on for 50 seconds without inhaling, so it kept on leaking after wards. But the other cart still going and we didnt leave it on, but used it none stop.

So not completely idiot-proof but more trouble-free when used properly? How did it prime when you filled it, faster than usual?

so do you have the new head for Omni HVD or using it with old head? Looks like a nice way to know how much oil u use and not loose. I see it for about $60. Do u need adapter or it good to go? U go with the see thru or the closed end? thanks. I just cant lose 1/3 every time i fill cart.
Thanks

Assuming it's a misspelling and you really meant "Then don't pretend...." just what is it I'm pretending to do, please? Somehow I lost the subject....

TIA

Yes, that's the one I tested, the one I believe he advised, the 4.2 Volt claims were his (might have do to with using that setting?). I got what I ordered, tested what I wanted to, and posted what I saw.

I'm not interested in testing other e-cigs as I have a useful VV unit and know how that kind of stuff usually works. Not interesting. It does not appeal to me right now. I feel no obligation to defend not wanting to get involved with them, really.....

Are there seals in there that could have overheated with no draw coming in?

yea it is, its basically the hammer top for the omi. Anyway i went to a collective today to get a cart cause my 5 ohm finally blew. Im used to 5 ohm carts, bu they only had 4.0 in stock so i got those and man i really like the 4 ohm better on 7.4 then the 5 ohm. The power is incredible

It's off the chart but that's the newest chart , the 7.4 @ 4 ohm is comparable to 3.7 @ 1.5 ohm

No, I think you're misreading that chart. 1.5 Ohms at 3.7 is the same as 4 Ohms at 6 Volts (both about 9 Watts), 7.4 Volts is 50% higher.....

The little dot is red, not green.

I really like this combo too but I found that the 4ohm carts burn out way faster than any other I've used. Even when using them at 6v rather than 7.4v.
