Hey guys am I the only one who can't seem to get as high with my mflb compared to smoking the same amount of weed?

I used my mflb on a daily basis since I bought it one month ago, so I guess I mastered the technique but the high just feels weaker than if I smoke. Do you guys have any suggestions?

And also is there a way to clean it to reduce the smell of my mflb? Because I carry it everywhere with me and it smells more and more as I use it. I only cleaned the screen between each use for now, so some resin builds up on the wooden part under the screen.

Weaker or different? A vapour high is not the same as a smoke high because you are missing the combustion toxins, which change the effects. In particular, the couch-lock feeling is much reduced, thanks to not getting such things as carbon monoxide with your high. Do you have experience with other vapourizers?

The resin build-up under the screen is normal and is best left alone. My LB doesn't smell much at all, despite hitting it several times a day for a couple of years. You have to put it right to your nose to smell anything. I suspect you're using the stem (I don't) which does start to smell after a while. The good news is that the stem is easily cleaned with a quick ISO rinse.

Finally, although you might have found a good technique, using it for a month doesn't make that automatic. There are a variety of techniques and you should try them all to find the one that works best for you. See the section Usage & Technique in Vaporpedia, and be sure to check the videos.

I think the couch lock comes from cannabinoids which have a high boiling/vaping temp, hence why they're more apparent with smoking. Also, I've found that vaping is much "cleaner."

I know a vape high is different than smoking, which is caused mainly by the fact that the THC is released in the air at a lower temp than other cannabinoids, so when you vape, the thc/other cannabinoids ratio is higher. But with my mflb not only I get absolutely no body buzz or a very small one if I vape alot, but my head high also feels weaker than smoking the same amount. I definitely agree that the high is more clear headed though, which I really enjoy.

I tried 3 different strains since I got my mflb, and ALL of them gave me a headbuzz without any body stone.

Also, I use my box native since I lost my stem, and I'm pretty sure my technique isn't 100% perfect yet. For some reason, it was easier to get big hits when I used the stem for me. Now that I lost my stem, I have trouble getting huge hits.

Finally, I noticed that the weed often vapes uniformly. When I completely vaped a trench, some of the weed is light brown, darker brown, and some of it stays a little bit green. As soon as some of the weed gets too dark/black I have to throw away the weed since otherwise the taste is just disgusting at the end. Finally, I shake the box between each hit so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

If someone could try to describe in detail how they use their box native it would really help me.

Thanks

Agreed that the high is cleaner. You're right about the temperatures to a certain degree. While CBN does contribute a lot to couch-lock, so do the toxins, in particular the carbon monoxide.

If you're getting unevenly cooked ABV, perhaps your grind isn't fine enough. The LB loves a finer grind than most, but don't go all the way to powder.

I always hit the LB native, and I use a variety of techniques. With the PA I tend to use a slow steady draw after a 5-6 second wait. I set my PA to a point that I estimate is slightly below full battery power. If I hold the power button down, it never gets hot enough to reach combustion. With batteries, I usually wait 3-4 seconds and then micro-hit. That means a series of short light puffs. Finally, with either PA or batteries I sometimes like pyronym's technique, which is basically inhaling gently through the nose.

Again, watch the videos referenced in Vaporpedia and read the section on usage carefully.

The mflb does like a very fine grind, I notice a lot of people say don't go to powder but I have found that the finer grind the better and grinding it down to powder actually works fine for me. I hit it native too, I stared off using it native, went to the stem, but then returned to native. I think you get a better hit if its native, I also think you use all of the "goodies" better, just look at anything attached to the stem, if you use it native all of those goodies get sucked up.

Finer grind! Not just like what comes out of the grinder, a little bit finer. Turn it upside down or take it out after a few puffs and break it up with your fingers a bit more.

I can't insert pics right now, but here's what I mean.

I love it! I usually just keep my vape in my car or in my backpack, I have a pocket in my Jansport that's perfect for my vape, the pack of batteries, grinder, and the pop-top nug jugs. That + my binder = portability! I see you have those rolling papers, still combusting? Back a few years ago when my use was more recreational than medical, I used to looove a good joint. I still smoke them, just nowhere near as much as I used to.

I can't quite tell, but I'm assuming you have the click-top? No one ever answered my question when I asked, but how sturdy is it? It actually takes some force to undo it, right?

The click top isnt as sturdy as you might think, I have lost several a trench from minor drops. I like to keep papers with me in case my batteries die, as I am no vape purist - but it is my preferred method of ingestion.

And boy do I love me a good joint :spliff:

I too use a coffee grinder for MFLB and get excellent results. Such grinders are under $15 'all over town', plenty cheap to try out IMO. This is the one I use:
http://www.amazon.com/Proctor-Silex...2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1335696090&sr=1-2

It's just over a year old (I forgot it's birthday....) and has ground many many grams for me without a hitch. It does a lovely job of collecting kief on the upper surface in the process. I used to brush it carefully into another container for special times, but now mix it back in and buy kief and bubble hash as needed. But for others it also remains a good way to harvest some kief along the way.

BTW, I usually put it up in 1/8 gram lots in vials (125 mg) for pre measured use in the LB. It makes 'field reloads' fast, easy and more stealthy. Even thought such grind it 'too fine' for use in other vapes I often do it anyway.....so sue me.

And boy do I love me a good joint :spliff:

I used to as well, I just came to the conclusion they didn't love me. And my lungs were sending me messages of their dissatisfaction I was ignoring. Glad I stopped doing that. I've saved a bunch of money in the process too that I can now spend on vapes to save yet more money.....

Ive been enjoying my MFLB for about 5 months now and have yet to have a single issue. I want to do something to the box to make it more unique and creative (i.e. some kind of design on the back and sides or on the lid) but have not seen but a few examples of people who have done this. Can anyone who has altered the appearance (without voiding the warranty) of their LB post up some pics? Much appreciated. originally I was thinking maybe I could find a sticker that covers most of the lid while still showing the trench, but have yet to find a proper sized/shaped sticker to do this.

Neat idea. Does it have to be a sticker? You could photoshop and print the cover of your dreams then glue it in place and cover it with clear tape? Maybe a picture of the boss you could stick your tongue out at between hits? Or 'This illegal product belongs to (someone you don't like)' in case you loose it somewhere when it's full of the wrong stuff?

Something will come up as a plan too good to pass up, I bet. You might even start a trend?

That could work... Is it possible to remove the lid on the LB? If it is I could create a template and print it on an adhesive paper. This could even work if the lid cannot be removed, I would just have to work around the pin. Maybe a trench will help the creative process a bit....

How about some little gremlins like around a middle ages church? Leering down into the trench from above?

Haha that would be great.. Its not so much a matter of figuring out what design to use, rather what medium to use. If I were to paint the box would I need to worry about heat and toxins? clear coat for protection?

@skippy

I end up going finer than that too, I'll put it in my grinder upside down for a bit, then a few vape hits, then I crumble it with my fingers, more hits, and then the last two or three I get down into as fine a powder as possible.

Thats what im talking about! Was this done with a wood burner?
Looks like it, yeah.

Maybe wood burning is the way to go, its natural looking and you can stencil it out with pencil... Does anyone have wood burning experience? Is is difficult?

After my first session, not even a trench's worth. Blazed. Hate to say it, but I might like this more than my DBV...

Are you serious? This surprises me a lot since most users who tried both the mflb and a desktop vape seemed confident that desktop vapes were better.
