What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Thinking about picking up a Splinter V2, can you guys recommend a mod that would work great with it? Also, where do you guys order your mods from?

I use the slow poke China sites like AliExpress dhgate sourcemore and fasttech. Get a Paranormal DNA250C if you can afford it and they still have them for a bill at sourcemore. If you can find a cheap dna75 or DNA250 they also work really well. Hard to find an affordable dnac mod these days.

My favorite TC mod is the Wismec RX Gen3 Dual and it runs the different firmware options folks here prefer for Splinter use. Folks like the Sinuous P80 too for a single cell mod.

Here's a couple pic's for comparison on a paranormal and a P80. The SplinterV2 would look on them better since it's blackwood.

Got a Cuboid 200 from ebay for my TUBOx. Running the Tubo on a eVic Vtwo flawless with great results, but on the Cuboid board temperature climbs up to 70° quite fast, giving the temperature warning.

Could this be related to a damaged board/temperature sensor? Or wrong/bad cells? Using VTC6 from a reliable(?) vendor. Or drains the Tubo so much, getting 3 cells to hot?

You may want to hold off any Fasttech purchases until nearer Easter as they've said there'll be an Easter discount code released in their Promotions forum sometime this week.
My guess is it'll be BUNNY or EASTEREGG for 10% off

Found a local shop with a HCigar VT75c on clearance so I couldn’t resist (still waiting on that P80 from China). While much of it is beyond my understanding, I love the customization options in Escribe and already changed the theme and added a custom profile. With the new theme the display really is great, and I’m already learning a lot just by playing around with it.

I was right :)
The Fasttech Easter code is BUNNY for 15% off on the 18th and 10% off from the 19th to the 21st

Full details are on their forum ....

They also have some lost vape paranormals 250c at $116 looks like a large selection of them. They even have some with the wood panels available. If ordering a Triade the $3 covers might be worth considering. I don't have one but at 3 bucks it might be worth it.

What do you guys think? Triade or Paranormal for a Splinter Z?

Tough call! I have both, they are both fantastic mods and pair great with the Z

Performance wise they are equal. I primarily use my Paranormal with the Z just because I like the way it pairs. It looks a tad classier then the Triad and the optional wood paneling I have is almost an exact match to the Z.

The Triad is rock solid, the extra battery really makes it sturdy and you can set it down anywhere without much thought or worry of it falling over. The 3 batteries are nice as the Z can be a hog but they also make the combo about as heavy as an unopened pop can. I've been using my Triad with wax atomizers lately it's nice to be able to carefully load the goodies without worrying about the base tipping over.

You wouldn’t happen to know the weight of each mod with the batteries would you? I’m trying to find out how the weight compares to my Solo 2. I don’t think I need 3 batteries since it will be used at home, but I like the way the Z sits on the Triade better than the Paranormal.

Either one works great. I had ran the Z with the paranormal for months. The wood inlays on paranormal might be good match with your splinterZ. Really just comes down to preference. I have hand issues and like the shape Triade a tad more so started using it with The Z.

The Z is a bit awkward on a Paranormal with a long XL8R. For my bigger hands the button isn't positioned as well as my three cell wismec. If the bulk isn't an issue I'd probably try the Triade. Better 510 position and a more balanced fit overall.

If you could still find the hcigar VT75D I'd recommend that for a Z. If I saw another Triade deal for under a bill I'd be tempted.

Going off the measurements I found online, the Triade is barely wider than my Solo 2. My hands are on the small side, but the Solo 2 fits good in my hand.

The Triade is $97 shipped from Fastech with coupon BUNNY.

BTW, what batteries would you guys recommend? Also, where is the best place to order batteries?

When it comes to fasttech, unless they list it as available and ready to ship I wouldn't bother ordering. They've done it to me before, list OOS items with an estimate ship out date and just never bother telling the customer it's really not available and the estimate is a wishful thought. You'll be notified when you email them all pissed off and they'll confess to not having it.

On Fasttech the Paranormal is $115, but there is a coupon code APRIL 18 is Bunny. comes out to $99.41.

BTW, the Thinkvape Finder is aboout $95.

I have also had my chain yanked by Fasttech. This item is supposed to ship tomorrow. If it does not ship by the weekend I can decide to cancel.

As a heads up, I also had a bad experience with Sourcemore. I ordered an item that was listed as shipping within 24 hours. After three days, I had no shipping confirmation and no word from them. All my emails to them were ignored. I had to open a dispute with PayPal before they would respond. Once I did that they suddenly answered my emails and gave me a refund.

Dang, really?!? Just about to pull the trig on a Paranormal but it says it ships in 7 days. That means it's out of stock? WTF

Fuck it. I took a chance and ordered a Triade. We'll see what happens.
