Put together a Thuya and BW stem this morning, Thuya has been used in incense for ages and you can understand why when you cut or drill it.

It'll be turned and filed tomorrow

Thank you @Hogni and @almostthere it got posted out this morning.
@Mr. Gweilo 420 I decided to try out another style but the Yew had different ideas.
I should have stopped when the internal branch spat itself from the main blank.

Great work (as usual ) lately @phattpiggie !!! I’m really digging the induction heaters you’ve been housing lately . I may have to hit you up about one if money ever becomes something I can spare again :D . I hope all is well on your side of the world . Hit me up some time so we can shoot the shit ...

The glass for the open twists is dimensionally all over the place so I've had to order an adjustable reamer so I can adjust the bore.
This makes all the glass colours usable and thankfully it's a cheap tool and designed to cut thru metals so it'll cut wood with ease.

I'll be in contact with the remaining people on this list, nearly there.

Cigarette holders have so many great shapes and material combinations going on it'd be rude not to try and recreate some of them.
The majority of the plastic ones are bakelite which contains all sorts of undesirables so acrylic and an isolated vapor path are the only way forward.

Drill wander in a piece of Spalted Beech made the day interesting truing up the blank. A really poor piece of wood that tore all over.
Even the smallest of pieces of wood can have great character in them. Blackwood with a few eyes.
Blackwood and Spalted Beech with brass accents alongside an Omni for scale.

Didn't have much luck with the hole thru this piece of Cocobolo either, I think it's going to end up getting a new piece fitted as there are other problems with this piece.

@Squiby It's not very often that something doesn't play the game, luckily I can rescue most stuff.
And there's always more wood so as much as it's frustrating as.... It's never anything other than chalked up as experience.

It all held together
Blackwood with a small section of cream coloured sap wood, Cocobolo and a copper accent. Paying homage to the cheroot holders of yesteryear.

Always brings the reality home when I've got a handful of stems.

Lost a piece today that's had hours put into it.
Thankfully the postman dropped me off a bundle of acrylics, it's not hoarding if you buy ten. Zombie apocalypse and all that.

I started this the other day and broke the skinny ring of Bocote at the hot end. Luckily I repurposed another I had stored away for just such an occasion.
