X2--especially hate the hiss and some of my triple jet lighters have well beyond a hiss---they sounds like a fricken jet engine and over-ride the click sound!!!
The portside mini works so much better :)

Thinking of purchasing a VapCap when I don’t have time to use my Solo 2. Sometimes I just need something quick and hard hitting.

I am concerned about harshness. Is the VapCap harsh? Is there a version or accessory that is less harsh? I don’t want to use a bubbler as I need something portable.

Cool, I don't have to post a picture. While I don't own a stash anymore, gave it to a friend, I have nearly the same line-up of vapcaps at my disposal including the stir tool.

And yes, weekends are made for vapcaps, as are weeknights, and holidaze.

If you want to stay within the vapcap line, I've found that the Omni XL is the best at cooling vapor. But there are other ways to cool a vapcap's vapor; there's enough draw restriction with the air inlet closed that you can take mouth pulls and cool the vapor with fresh air. And I think @SneakyPeteVaporizers makes several very portable glass options that shouldn't prohibit portable usage and will cool the vapor. The vapcap vapor isn't harsh per se, the vapor is incredibly dense. And my current other vape is an OG Solo-I think they pair very well as a team and complement each other well.

I don't have a Sólo 2 but I do have a DaVinci Ascent and in comparison yes, the Vapcap rips are harsher. It's logical - you're getting all the goodies in maybe a minute instead of a gentle 8 - 10 minute session. It's like a single hitter, you'll get 3 or 4 milky hits once you get the hang of it. It is really smooth through water, which you don't want. I have the Omni too and I'd say it's slightly less harsh than the M. Maybe the extra length of XL models smooth it more.. . I'd imagine that is the case. But for microdosing/sneaky hits any Vapcap is a good Vapcap .
EDIT : The weed you put in it also matters.

So the XL is just longer? Just trying to understand. Also any difference between the wood and titanium versions besides looks?

I think you've got it just about right. An Omni version has adjustable condenser length so you can set it to your preferred mixture of vapor and fresh air (you can also control the air intake on any model : all have air holes.

The XL is 14mm longer than a regular VC, the exact length of the mouthpiece. As small as the difference is it definitely makes spinning the VC easier. I don't think the length difference changes the hit much if at all.
The FEEL of wood vs metal is also significant for many. I like having both, but prefer XL.

Thought I would add my VC family too. Very similar to @Papi's, minus the carbon fiber.

I have very sensitive lungs and the Vapcap was a game changer for me. The Vapcap offers the smoothest non irritating vapor of all the vapes I've tried if you employee two techniques.

Add a small bit of degummed hemp fiber under the screen to act as a filter for fine particulates. Not only will your lungs thank you but your Vapcap condenser will remain very clean for a long time. Degummed hemp fiber can be purchased for $5 on the Dynavap website.

Use a small mouthpull toke. Pull the vapor into your mouth, then breath in cool fresh air along with the vapor. Smooth, cool and no coughing whatsoever. Direct lung pills can be very harsh and irritating to the lungs.

No real difference other than the metal midsections can get warm, whereas wood stays cool.

There is a difference between the models though in bells and whistles, but every Vapcap is a wonderful efficient Vaporizer.

I don't know about alcohol lamp ( I remember the fumes of camping lights...) but I am recommending 100% paraffin lamps. If you vape mostly inside you will enjoy a small nicely designed lamp using liquid paraffin.

I am quite certain you will be pleased with the result, a little liquid paraffin goes a very long way and is quite cheap. And you get the added value of a cool and restful ambiance for the evening.

As well as a great start for a weekend like... now! Everybody have an enjoyable one. :) (I'm repeating myself here but it seems like this topic pops up mostly on Friday!!! )

I don't know about alcohol but the paraffin flame leaves very little residue, always depending of course on the angle you give to the Vapcap and where you put it in/about the flame.
