Flavor.
I'll put up with a bit of harshness in exchange for a mouthfull of glorious terps!
Higher diffusion almost automatically means less flavor... as many of the tasty chemicals are dissolved into the water instead of your tastebuds!
It's a tradeoff...
I like less flavor for high-temp "face melter" hits, which taste bad anyway. Everyone needs low AND high diffusion pipes, in my opinion.

I can't speak to the function, but why would it be too tall for concentrates? And do tell us how much you can get it for retail as this will influence an opinion.

That's why I buy Cheap Chinese Glass !! On youtube you can see the fonction, but not the feel.
Feel, touch the piece for less than $50, I go there.
If I hesitate, I look at the price of a single pack of cigarettes, I remember the time when I was a smoker, and then I order the piece i want.
But @Phenix I only buy my glass clean, with "no logo" mode on. As they are mostly copies, I doubt that quality control is up to standard.
Here everything is a question of price and I doubt that you have a precise answer to your question, I mean scientific. In doubt I chose transparent glass.

By scientist I wanted to say that you will never have a reliable source that can guarantee the absence of lead in your glass before purchasing it. (in any case a source to which I will believe)..
That's why, in addition to aesthetics (which remains subjective), I do not even look at the pieces that are not transparent clear glass.

I own the Honey and i like it a lot but i am by no means a glass expert and i dont have too many comparisons.
It is on the smaller side for a Flower piece which i like, diffusion and cooling is very good for the size, for some likings may be even too much diffusion.
Quality of mine is good FOR THE PRICE...

@ataxian in your photo above, your FC- 186 is different to mine. I assume you got it from Steven? There are so many versions of it from different sellers on dhgate.
Mine is the 34 cm model, but I belive Steven also has other models. I find the 186 a little hard work though to keep up with the draw, and it does have some blowback which tugs back at me at the beginning of my draw each time.
I think I would prefer it with a vape that has a little draw restriction, just not too much. The vapes I have used it with mainly are very open flowing and it is a lot of gushing air to take innat speed and then a bit too much to clear it.
The 186 is pretty smooth though. I think I would prefer the new "flower beast":
