Are there any torches that don't die so quick? I've been going through so many of them since getting into VapCaps.

Thankfully, I now have a Portside induction heater for home use, but I still rely on torches when out and about, and I'm sick of buying new ones every few months. No matter if I spend $3 or $30, they seem to all break at the same frequency.

Is there any torch out there that is made to last at least longer than a year?
5 or 6 pages back I posted a pic of a box of torches that I have accumulated since I began vaping in 2014. When I began I had regular problems with torches until I stopped using cheap butane. Since I have switched to Collibri and Vector, and since I learned about purging, burping and proper filling, I have had NO permanent torch failures, and several are several years old.
Good butane and burping and purging are the KEY to good torch behavior. These cheap lighters can work well for a long time. But they ARE cheap, so there will be failures...
Silicone tube rings and modularity are my thing. So I cut a ring and put it the bottom part of container hole of my stash. then slide in two tips w/caps side by side. Two bullets in the chamber Then another ring as a door for the top of that. Close the lid.I will come up with a nice way to carry 3 in the chamber with no rattle.
I am intending, and hoping to use the stash as a stash. :)

I really do want this to be all I have to carry with a torch. I want a vape dugout.

(Yeah, I know, I will eventually need an XL DS from George or one of our wood guys)

It exists, just called a Titanium Uni. ;)

Are you filling properly? Purging the air first? Just checking as I almost never have a lighter actually fail...
If you're not sure - youtube how to fill a butane lighter.

Otherwise, dynavap seem to choose reliable lighters. I can vouch for the Vertigo Venom they sell. The Vertigo Gauntlet is a bit fussy though (at least my one is)

I do purge almost each time I refill. I also make sure to use decent 5x refined butane cans.

Collibri gas is what saved my iolite V1/V2 and whispr 2 for several years. recommend it very much.
but I am not a smoker anymore... lighters???
Don´t want to loose a expensive one in the airport.
Bought a 35€ one - didn´t last a year and was replaced once... whispr was only 90€ and don't need a lighter.

If you are using good butane and burping air out and purging before a reload and you are still having problems, you are having bad luck and I don't know what to suggest. I find Vector's (meant Vertigo) and Honest torches very reliable if well cared for. And Jobon.

Also periodically burp. Hold the torch bottom up for 1/2 minute (no shaking) than push in the receiver a couple times.

When turned over the air should come to the top and be burpable.

Dugout style as intended? Well you can let us know how that goes if you'd like. Filling and unfilling isn't as convenient an option for me sometimes. But feel free to borrow any ideas.

The white heat resistant silicone ring in the M slot however, that might be a plus for anyone with a 3d printed one. I was more comfortable dropping my M in and snapping the case closed with a little more finesse.

See the general conversation is about lighters. Trying to sort out what is cold weather friendly lighters. Some single torches are good for two heat ups then fail for a while. Like the parts need cool down time. The Vertigo Venom 2 has still been my most dependable. Although I might have bought out all those lighters from some asian lady in that Hong Kong market and help her close up shop early that day. :D

Still waiting for my black friday order. German bureaucracy at its best! 3 days left to get the letter from the customs office or I'll get at after christmas or next year. Cross your fingers! ;)

@VapCap
I have no clue about international shippings, customs regulations, etc but is there any possibility that the german customs could handle it faster? Alternative declaration, shipping method or whatever?

well, I am much to slow to follow this thread by reading.

My cheap single torch doesn't work outside.
Also my Trangia alcohol stove... well,... at least I will not use cheap BICs

I´ve ordered a "M" for my guests in the cannabis club with some torch lighters.

Ccompared to my VaporGenie I prefer the VC at all. With a good lighter it works much better.

But my first choice at home will ever be my Volcano Classic.
For more than 10 years now...
I never tried a bag?
Maybe I'm really LAME?
I like a EVO NANO SOLO M from VAP CAP and their all better than a JOINT!

A BAG is like DUMPSTER DIVING?

A "M" is like fine dinning in DOWNTOWN PARIS?

GSC = GIRL SCOUT COOKIES = OUTDOOR with our sun for light and EARTH'S SOIL?

In CALIFORNIA we thought we had BUMPER CROP'S?

Never had a bag?
I know maybe I'm too stupid to know better?

BLISS to be LAME!

"M" work's great 4 me?

something terrible... they let you open your package and inspect it.
And you have to pay for it...

I just use the fat mouth piece with my Omni XL titanium and the MFLB orbiter. Works very well.
Instead I would use duct tape...

This is interesting. I always imagined the MFLB orbiter would be a perfect compliment to the Omni XL. How well does it work, as compared to say any other mini bubblers in the market? Worth the cost?

And the list keeps growing...

Thanks

Thanks

It is.
my MFLB itself is not used anymore - because it needs batteries...

But the orbiter fits almost every of my need out of the box... connect my VaporGenie, Mighty, Vulcano and finally the VC.

I think they are supposed to include a filling tool with the stash.
Yep a squarish 3D black one. (and I have a PAX v1 :brow:.) and a leather strap around the ring.
'Supposed' eh? So still waiting on yours?

Other carry option. I can fit an M with an MP in the bottom of one of these. -> King B | Tightpac America Inc. Just don't put it in MP end in first or it will stay stuck. :o

I ordered the black XL one so that is fine with me, not that it would matter.

Placed the order yesterday or Saturday. Says it shipped today.

Ah, no, it says they created a label, but no shippy...

December!

Still almost no snow here and I thought I lived in Wisconsin.
Either way, time for a bit of an update.
Black Friday was very busy. We were preparing for this one like never before and actually thought we would be ready this time. Tested the website, upgraded the hosting, and then checked all the settings a few more times.
Next, we worked nights and weekends to try and get ahead on stock.
We even began pre loading the mailers with our new instructions and stickers.
Then it came.

Our multipurpose DynaSign / countdown timer. It seemed like a good idea to have this up there to keep our upcoming events top of mind for everyone.
As we finished up our prep, we had a little Cook out for everyone.

Beer brats and burgers and all the fixings. But this was just the beginning.
In celebration of all the hard work the whole crew put into everything, it seemed only reasonable to stick it out until the countdown hit 0s or midnight our time.

IMG_20171123_000001720_zpsyw3mieko.jpg

Then what? Well our awesome staff decided to begin filling orders. There may even be a few pieces of original art that we're added in. This went on for over an hour. You know you have dedication when the crew is filling orders at 2am, Thanksgiving morning none the less.

So other than the usual work on some new things....

IMG_20171107_170836164_zpsoadr7vhv.jpg

It seems we are mostly back to normal, for us anyway. The crew here did outstanding and had almost all the previous day's orders out by the time the mail came each day!
It is incredible to work with everyone here, and we appreciate the support of the community.

Thank you,

George

I tried bags a few times with the HA. Just never developed a taste for them. Volcano users swear by them so they can't be all bad.

I've always liked the look of that guy. If I were starting over I would get one.
