20 going on 60
8mm ID x 10mm OD SS*

If you can imagine an M body stuck inside a piece of wood you would have one of my Steel core stems. They should be compatible with all Dynavap parts.

Haha I just looked at my own diagram and realised just as you posted that I got the number mixed up. Guess that tincture I just made is working :whoa:

@GreenHopper , what is ID (internal diameter)? And can't a nonavong be lined w/ ss & no condenser for water use?

GH, here's a quote posted by @antispleen that's a testament to the vc's simplicity:

"It's awesome how quick you can load up a cap, toast it completely and put away and not miss a beat."

Never truer words were spoken.

What is fringe festival?

Indeed ID = internal diameter.

A NonaVong has an ID of 10mm to mate with the Tip and mouthpiece.

Fitting an SS stem on a NonaVong body would involve wide ingredients it's ID to fit the stem. It would be much easier and more cost effective to just get an @Winegums stem. His Etsy store is in his signature.

Couldn't agree with @antispleen more.

What is fringe festival indeed? I'm not entirely sure. It happens once a year in Edinburgh and seems to be a collection of artists, musicians, comedians and other random stuff. I've never been before.

I don't know, guys. I'm having a hard time believing it's a good idea to be breathing through woods that are known respiratory irritants.

As much as I would love to add the Dynastash and Ti-Woody to my lineup, I'm thinking I may pass due to health concerns.

Entirely your choice bud. Why not just buy an M. It's stainless steel?

You don't breath through wood on a Vapcap.

Cool air can pass through the air intake between the condenser and midsection if you keep it open, but vapor does not come into contact with wood.

Wood midsections are only the cover of a Vapcap and an optional material choice. The vapor path is only exposed to stainless steel and/or titanium depending on the model you choose. Air is heated as it passes through the tip channels between tip exterior and the cap, through the herb, creating vapor which then passes through the stainless steel/titanium (Omni) condenser to your lips. The metal condenser is intact from the herb chamber through to the end of the mouthpiece.

The only wood contact you would expose yourself to would be your lips touching a wood mouthpiece or your fingers touching the wood midsection.

If you are sensitive to wood you can choose a stainless steel M, a ti Vapcap with a carbon fiber or titanium body or the lovely titanium Omnivap.

I think that as long as you are not sanding the wood to create wood dust, you are safe, unless of course you have a sensitivity to wood in which case it would be prudent to avoid wood exposure in all areas of your environment.

That seems like a generous-size diameter.

Now I'd like to know if @phattpiggie has the capability of lining acrylic w/ ss, if it's even possible to do?

Guys, @sk8man121 said in his initial post that he's upgrading from an M.

It sounds like it's gonna be a intellectual & super fun time. I was under the impression you lived in the States, or are you traveling abroad. Are you gonna be checking in with us while your fringing or you gonna be MIA?

Oh, btw, GH, & I feel so stupid admitting to this, but I put the heated cap end to my lips today. Ouch! Thank goodness I only lightly touched it to my lips & didn't clamp down on the mp. And you know where double stupid comes in? I almost did it again on the next draw! 4-hours later & I only lightly feel where l burnt them. Lucky me this time!
I'm at that stage in my learning that I'm now gonna "respect the hot cap" as well, for it can be a deadly weapon.

It's no wider than the standard wood stems or the M stem. 10mm is same width as the tips and mouth pieces as well.

Right now I go down to about 12.5mm on the OD before I'm afraid it will crack on me. I have thinner tubing that would allow for slimmer stems and still have a laminated construction.

When you say laminated do you mean acrylic or is it a wood-crafting term?

Seen alot of posts recently on the @Pipes portside induction heater. I am on the list for a Jarhead. Any good words for that one?

LINK Many of the thread members here are on that thread, too, so you can read all their good words (of which there are many!) over there. Scroll through, a lot of interesting pics.

"M" stands for "M" - as in any letter after "L" and before "N". :D

Seriously though, I don't think it's ever been stated. I've always thought it was for metal.

Actually, these could be the words for the M, & for the Omni your could use terms like Outstanding & Omnipotent.

I meant as a wood crafting term but in general the SS liner is there to prevent anything from the decorative outside getting into the air path. I assume that the reason you want a liner in the acrylic is to isolate it from the air path? It's certainly possible.

The liner has a secondary purpose when used for laminated stuff as it makes it stronger and adds some heft to the piece. Wood can get quite fragile when it's in thin layers.

It is meant to go inside an Altoids can. It fits the vapcap M, A zippo lighter with butane insert, and has storage option for additional "stuff". The area for the vapcap has a hole for a magnet, and the tip area is recessed to allow storing a hot cap.

This is the design after a round of great feedback, decided to share here in case some more good feedback comes along and I can make more changes.

Will share STL files when done.

Cheers!

Going to Europe next week and I'm wondering if there may be some problem in taking my M on flights? I mean not to use it (although would be nice), but maybe airport customs could bother?
I took an unused OG VapCap with me from Spain to Holland - no problems. This thing is so easy to clean, my intention is to give it a good soak overnight in warm (not boiling) water & dish soap and take it back home. It'll go in checked luggage in my toiletries bag with the actual cap tucked away somewhere else. Should be ok, I reckon.

Yes, as acrylic is a plastic so don't want to be inhaling any outgassing when subjected to heat.

@DataRocks , I like it. I'd be up for one. What material is it being made out of, well, type of plastic? Be sure to share files when done.

And the mods added @flotntoke, @GreenHopper & @Square4Life's educational posts to the Best Of thread.

Just received my Omni XL, I'm so happy about it. Much easier to spin in my hands than the Omni. I have 2 regular (new fancy bodies) Omnis now, as I had a shipping screwup, so I'll sell them sometime soon.

Turns out I have more vapcaps than I think I'd ever need. That happened fast... I only got my first a month or so ago. Still, maybe, maybe, my vapcap VAS is mostly under control for now. Though I did hear George in a recent interview talk about glass parts (like a glass vong body or stem, was what it sounded like). That could easily be another bunch of money floating off into the sunset.

Still, I have a bunch of Ms now, which I'm really happy about, to share with friends when they visit. Lovely creations all around :)

I had several flights between EU countries with my Omni, never had a problem. Just clen it thoroughly before and bring some alcohol pads with you in case you manage to use it.

Very nice, indeed! :p

Inserts for other lighters? Zippos while iconic are not ideal "matches" for VC.

@sk8man121 - Fyi you are not breathing through the wood - everything you inhale passes through steel/titanium. The wood just covers the working parts. I have allergys to dust, grass and trees but I have had no reaction to my Blackwood Omnivap. Ensure you coat the wood with Dynawax first and you will be fine.

After Jason at Dynavap made that one, for @Copacetic, he made a Damascus body for me as well.

Here's mine. A Damascus steel body or stem is the heaviest Vapcap midsection of them all.

@Squiby - What a gorgeous piece of art! I collect Damascus knives and am sooooooooooooo jealous!

I really need to catch up with reading all of your posts in the VC thread. I will be looking at lighter more travel friendly VC's for next season I figure. :sherlock: Having a lightweight VC is will matter more when I carry my gear further. Ounces and grams of weight do matter when pushing yourself to get over that next hill and trying to gain momentum for the next one. :2c: Yes, I am thinking about the lightest airtight most portable VC for back country visits.

Well been biking and camping further from home and trying to have a smaller more contained portable kit. In my deluxe setup, I have a cooling magnet at the bottom of one Dynavap tube and one in the silicone strip separating the twin torch from the tubes. I call it deluxe because it more with comfort here than the weight and space points that I was making earlier. A more compact version is being thought up as I type. :science: But I am open for any suggestions.

About the odd green kit the on the right and what I was going for. So while you are holding the lighter, you are holding the whole kit in the same hand. I worry about dropping small parts in the grass.

All three types of torches are here and a Summit. A fairly light electronic portable.

What is the lightest Dynavap

I like the kit you have put together. I have something similar for hiking/biking or any outdoor activity. Just a couple of doob tubes and a full lighter.
On a side note how do you like the summit? Looks nice but not too much info about it. Thanks.

If at all worried then avoid woods, it doesn't make sense to buy a nice piece and be worried every time you use it.
The Database is a good source of info, but again it's mainly dusts that cause concern.

@GreenHopper my segmented have 5mm with a 0.5mm wall, wall on DV SS is 0.25mm, I also use 4mm x 0.3mm for the 150mm stems. And a combination of both for some others depending on design.

@Summer I have been putting in full length SS condensers for a while now. In my first stems the condnesers fell short by 25mm then I found a decent supply of the 4mm tube
14mm Blackwood with Indian Summer
pTu7FNrm.jpg
TXWtb7Zm.jpg

Full length 5mmx0.5mm, a combination of both tubes was used in the stem.

The full length 5mmx0.5mm which went into MomoftheGoons Birds Eye Zebrano, which having spoken to her is being used, abused and loved.
JxIqmmT.jpg

And a quick 7 seconds showing how I fit the 4mm tube in the longer stems. Excuse the noise I get the feeling my lathe needs a new set of bearings.

@LabPong yes it will work or you can just use a 10mm tube with a 1mm wall with no condenser.

Best altoid survival kit ever!! When are you making them?

Also for anyone curious... I got my order from cooljarz! I actually got it yesterday at the same time i got the omni... But obviously i was more excited about the omni lol

Ok... The sample pack was supposed to come with 12 jarz... It came with 11. They forgot the 1 dram little round concentrate jar... I don't care... I have no access to concentrates anyway... Just thought I'd share that... And the jars come in random colors... I was a little disappointed the largest one came in purple.....

That being said... The jars themselves seem nice. Still a great deal for $9 shipped. The way they open took some getting used to but they seem more secure than i expected... But not child proof... My 8year old had no problems opening one.

Still... For the price they make some great bud storage and travel jars.

Interesting! Are bodies of the jars made of hard plastic or a more softer one like the JyARz?
But I would miss the glass inserts for sure.

They have different ones... I got the "flipz" kind and they are made of hard plastic. Feels like the same plastic that the vapcap tubes are made of. They just open differently.
