God is THAT a beaut, stem and all. Very very pretty. I have not yet picked up any wood stem, but I think I am going to have to. Who is doing them lined?

@Shit Snacks beat me to it. But I might add some details for those interested: the stem is a 4" glass inlined Leadwood stem (the glass tube is a bit longer as you can see and is removable). It's effin gorgeous and size (its tapered from 18mm to 14mm) and length are perfect for pulling out every size of a cloud you wanna. Maintains the ability to sense the heat but it's very mild on my throat. But don't mix this up with 'potency coughs'. If you want them, you can get them! :D

Definitely a wonderful addition to the long stems... Gotta love good wood :luv::drool:

Beautiful @vapen00b .
Are these stems custom orders from Alan or are they some variation of his 18mm wong roasting tubes on his site?

Hi mate,
Custom order. I had to wait some months for Alan to get it done... But we're a patient bunch, huh? And we all know, in the end, it's been worth it ;) :)

Edit: I guess in a way you could call it a variation of his wongs too.:D

If I'm not mistaken you can't actually order anything through the site, you need to email Alan directly to discuss. If you say you want Milaana stems he knows what to do, can be standard short stem just like the glass (I have a canarywood one, and a dark walnut one that tapers to 14mm) or longer if you like, glass lined, WonG style, almost anything you can think of really. As @vapen00b said you just gotta be patient, mine also took a month or two after ordering, though you don't pay until they are ready to ship if I recall correctly

So the glass is straight and can be pushed out either end or removed for cleaning? Genius!

@duff , maybe if we both order, they won't get buried! Although a few months from now, almost coincides with the Nomad.....

I always vouche for ddave 14mm stem but, damn man, the 18mm cobalt long stem has been stealing my heart lately. I've nailed down proper coolness to just enjoy huge clouds with little to no throat irritation. It's honestly just so incredibly fun. Been using the GH a lot in the car at work, Solo 2 for fat quick white wall milks between games, but whenever I use the Milaana, it's the most enjoyable of all the experiences. The other vapes are more tools used for a specific duty ... the Milaana is just a pleasure to use and performs any duty nearly flawlessly. Fuck I love it. (Also very much love my Solo 2, no hate here :))

Not really, they are stainless. Just meant color, not material on that one.

Just saw your DD: Milaana 20700? Got a pic to share of that? (or did I miss it somehere) I'm trying to talk Ryan into making the Milaana 2 a 20700 but he doesn't want to hear it because of the price of the battery. Make it, folks will buy it Ryan, easy as that. Please share your experience on that unit as far as sessions you are getting per battery, which battery you are using when you have a moment.

I think it is very important to embrace new tech like the 20700 battery rather than stick with 18650 perpetually.

If we assume that a 20700 battery is about $10 and an 18650 is $5 even 4 batteries would only be about $20 difference. Not a big addition to a $200 vape.

I see that someone recommended Mountain glass. If buying from Mountain Glass I suggest the colored stems (Cobalt, amber, green). The clear stems were made from thinner glass and I was unable to get a RBT screen (or a stem-tip basket) to stay installed. The colored stems were thicker glass.

Guilty :D
Thanks for pointing that out. I never ordered clear glass stems from them. Also always keep in mind that all those joints are hand blown and vary in size and fitting.

General tip if your male glass joints were too long to fit(> 22mm): take some 120 grit sandpaper, running tap water (to cool the glass and not inhale glass particles) and sand the joint down. A sanding block (cork) would be a good addition if at hand. It might take some minutes but it's really easy to do. :)

Peace out

I just remembered that it is not only clear glass (from Mountain glass) that is too thin to hold a screen (in my experience). The glass that was not transparent was all too thin, I bought both white and jade that also had issues with screens.

When I say thin glass I mean the outside diameter is okay, the inside is just more open due to the thin glass.

I found no work around for the thin glass regarding a screen

If anyone figures out how to use these stems I would appreciate a heads-up so they can be put to use or tossed in the trash.

Interesting. I rather encountered the contrary: too thick glass so the diameter is too small for a RBT screen to fit in.

Have you tried to widen the rim of the screens a bit (deform) to make them fit?
Have you tried different basket screens than are more flexible than the RBT ones (e.g. domed screens used for the Arizer solo/air)?
Have you tried rimmed basket screens (e.g. Arizer EQ screens)? Those can be deformed pretty easily to fit a variety of 18mm one-of-a-kind stems- either wider or narrower...

Hope this helps!

I've picked up blue, black, amber and a couple different shades of green 18mm stems from Mountain Glass and haven't had much issue. Needed to squeeze a few Mi screens into a couple, but no other issues. A little too tight is easier to deal with. You can usually just force them in basket style and the worst that happens is it gets a little "dome-y".

Screen stretching should take care of any issues. IME the easiest way to do this is to get a dowel or other hard cylinder that is about the right size and force the screen down on to it. Work it with some pliers while on there and you can adjust them a pretty good bit.

+1 on Ratchett screens, too!

Heh you forced me to produce my "step by step DIY guide" earlier than I expected, but I guess that's a good thing! :p

So here we go >> http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/milaana-20700-21700-conversion-get-extended-battery-life.25008/

I can't comment on the battery life for now, as all my chargers don't accept the new format and I have to use crocodile clips and magnets on my RC charger it's a PITA. I'll get back to you on that point later on and post my findings here. But on paper it's 33% more capacity with the B cell from Panasonic.

The cells are pricier because of the novelty but it will settle. And the LG and Samsung ones should be available anytime soon now.

I think it is very important to embrace new tech like the 20700 battery rather than stick with 18650 perpetually.

Ryan can be stub-born, but I hope my proof of concept will help him change his mind!

PS: and let's not forget that it's not only better battery life but also more steady power with the high discharge cells versions!
