I wonder if that's because of the d-nail dish's additional surface area, or if there's another reason :hmm:

:sherlock:
That's what I'm guessing, I need to measure it some more though. I want to make sure they're at their stable temp before measuring. Also need to write it down, the fp has a knack for making me reeeeeally spacey.

I figured the sic would spread the heat evenly, maybe the tag version keeps more heat near the bottom? I might try measuring the bottom of the dish vs near the top for both dishes.

so far I'm loving it for flower.

Yup. I wasnt expecting this to be my main flower device at all. Love it for flower.

Got some CBD dabs arriving this morning from the postie. Gonna be interesting to dab in the SiC dish, and do flower below.

EDIT: Postman arrived... This is what I received. Tastes INCREDIBLE -

I would bet it is due to the thickness. The Dnail is almost twice as thick of SiC material than the TAG dish. This would attribute to better heat retention which means it would require less heat to get to the same temperature and it will hold its temperature much better. From my own experience the TAG dish drops temperature by a much bigger margin and takes considerably longer to get back to the correct temperature. This could be oart of the reason it pools so much more at the same temps as the Dnail.

Another reason the Dnail dish does not pool or get as filthy as the TAG dish is because the Dnail has chamfered wall to floor condition whereas the TAG dish is squared. The concave or chamfered floor to wall condition restricts the amount of pooling around the edges of the walls which happens to be the area that gets most caked due to the oils trying to run from the heat on the floor. Your oil/wax is always going to run to the walls in an effort to get away from the heat. This is also why I feel the TAG is nowhere as efficient as the Dnail.

Sorry...I got to rambling and...

I always figured the dish greatly contributed in heating air coming in. My coil is loose and slides down on the base so when I carb cap it I pinch the dish a little in between the carb cap and coil. I feel like I get more vapor than if I let go and let my coil slide down to the bottom of the base.

I recieved the high5 encased coil to try, it seems to be a nice fit with no room to spare but not tight and the dnail Sic dish sits flush. It is kind of big and extends out a few mm past the dish. The only problem is I am unsure of how to wire it up to work with the hex nail. So I will not be able to try it until I figure that out. I can solder if anyone can try and direct me. I also have some newvape coils on the way and another brand to try. I'll post some pictures when they arrive.

I just love how I can extract a bowl in one huge tasty hit with the flower pot. I'm always amazed at the amount of vapor I blow out especially on double deckers. It's such an awesome device I wish I would of found this as my first plug in unit, there's no need for anything else!!!

Almost there...
@Justpassedu

All you need to do is this:
Take a coil that works with your HexNail and open the XLR connector to expose the wiring.
All the wires are different colors except for the thermocouple sometimes, could be a red/green or both blue.
Now open up your High5 XLR and desolder the connections.

Now just resolder the High5 connectors in the same order as the hexnail!

All pins are numbered so just pick one at a time!
It's really easy.

Are there any options for improvement of the construction or does Edwyn plan something in that way?

Please elaborate on "improvement" if you would.

What og carbcap are you using currently? I'm not currently using the LolliCap on the FP yet but I'm using it on another setup. I know it's definitely got a learning curve. I've noticed it's all about draw speed with the LolliCap. If only the hole in the CC could be restricted a bit more and was set at an angle a bit too. It seems to flow a bit freely or to much air.

If these were changed it would help make the learning curve a tad easier I think. It would also help to push those lovely concentrates around a bit better.

NV LolliCap owners please post up your cap photos for comparison. Do you have the new or old style LolliCap?

I received mine last week. Mine is different from the photos and videos I've seen online. If you notice in the photo of mine, the underside does not have the milled out side cut coming off of the center area. It just has the center milled out, is this a missed defect or old or new style LolliCap @NewVape710 ?

If you've owned both or just one please post your thoughts or comments. It would be useful for the members.

@emmdeemo I'm liking it too. It fits the 20mm Liger great also. I've literally only used the LolliCap 5 times now so I'm still getting familiar with its sweet spot. I've found it once already and it was super. When one gets the movement and draw speed synced up on the LC it produces freight train sized punches to the face. And so the chase begins again today! :ko:

Is anyone else eyeing those sexy NV dab tools and the black tool stand?! I'm thinking I'll get the stand, a few tools (being the mini-ball tool is so short) and the tray base for the FP. The tray base will gold both the FP and my Liger at the same time, Bonus!

Oh and I'll order a backup coil too. By the way NV uses a very uniform and quality built coil. I'm impressed with the build quality and by how flat and even the wraps are. Two more weeks and NV can have my money again.

Can you post a picture of your setup? , i'd like to see the coil on the Fp and enail. At 750F you should be choking the vapor is so dense lol.

@ichibaneye they made 2 versions of the Lollicap , 1 was designed for a perfect fitment with the Fp heads and i believe the old style , don't quote me , was for there Ti nails designed before the fp.

Its the rotation ritual for me. I dont know what it is about rotating the cap that I find so fascinating but its a habit thats already permanent :)

Also, I have a slow draw speed and still get huge clouds, but I'm also using the FP, and mostly with flower, different variables to what you're dealing with.

-Cleaning pointer for those with that Sic. Ness This is the best clean possible for your Sic. Ness

1. Pot for cooking
2. Iso
3. Water
4. Salt

In the cooking pot combine the water, salt (don't be shy with the amount of salt) and Iso. I use a 4 parts water to 1 part Iso ratio.

Add your Sic. Ness into the mixture and bring to a rapid sustained boil.
Leave your Sic. Ness to boil for at least 5 min. I let mine go for 10 min.

Remove your Sic. Ness from the boiling mixture and let cool. Give it a final wipe down with Iso and water.

You've now got a good as new Sic dish, halo or insert, enjoy!

@subway13029 the lollicap in your photo is the latest rev 3 design.

I do apologize that the photo on the site is outdated. I will update it.

Here is a video of the Rev 1 it was initially intended to address swings, bangers, and domeless nails. The current rev 3 design was modified for the flowerpot.
.
I welcome product enhancement suggestions. Especially if it improves the Flowerpot.

That may help , that's crazy though @770F my coils would be glowing red. I use that temp , actually 800F to clean my nail. I know some prefer the high temps though but in your case something has to be up if you are not getting the dense clouds once you lollicap it. I know you said it is not your Enail but that is the only thing i think it may be besides maybe your material being low quality or possibly to wet. Just trying to narrow this down. Try a really fine grind , preheat of around 5 minutes and a temp of 675F , place the head on the bowl and slowly inhale while placing the carb cap on and making sure it seals against the dish lip. Also try plugging the hole on the actual carb cap with your finger while inhaling. How do you know for sure it is not your Enail or Coil ? i know many have had the pid settings off and this can cause problems or even a coil on its way out. Is your coil tight around the base and making contact with the dish and also the bottom of the base?

So is mine the incorrect version then? I plan on purchasing your FP in a few weeks and already have your LolliCap that I recently ordered. The one I've currently got seems diffrent from both. The one pictured (even though outdated) and the earlier version in the vid. Would the one I've got work with my future FP purchase? :)

I like that this thread is poppin!
