@THC SCIENTIFIC So my order was promptly delivered on Saturday. Thanks for the fast shipping! Also the Ophos gift was a really nice surprise!

I've been playing with the Sirius but struggling a bit to get great results. I started in temp control on a Joyetech mod (eVic VTC Mini). I set the TCR to 352 which is what I also use for the Ti Gr 2 dual coils. I set the temp to 370 F and a max power of 12w on the mod. There isn't much vapor production at all. Even at the end of a full 10 second cycle I am not getting much.

What are your recommendations for how to use this in temp control? I can also try on a different mod if you would like. I have multiple mods with the Joyetech chip and also the DNA chips.

So I settled back to power mode although I must admit it feels like going back to the stone age of vaping! I tried several different wattage settings ranging from as low as 8w up to 15w. I'm struggling to find the "best" setting. I ended up using 12w and pulsing. Flavor is not where I was expecting it though especially compared to the EHD Ti dual coils.

I got a bunch of the Canopus coils but have not tried them yet.

I'd also point out my first Sirius coil seemed like something was wrong with it. I did few pulses dry to burn off any manufacturing residues as usual. A really foul order came off. I then tried loading it with some concentrate and vaping and it tasted like car exhaust. Immediately stopped and switched to a new coil. No such issues with the second coil.

I disassembled the first coil and took some pics. I didn't see anything visually wrong with it though. At least not obvious to me.

I've been doing 8-16 and just really short pulses(.5-2sec) to slowly heat everything up. Then when it starts making vapor I hold the button down for 2-5 sec pulses. I haven't been able to get any kind of TC working either.

Edit: I guess looking again it seems like the right leg on the coil is kind of blackened or charred almost? Check out the difference in color compared to the left leg of the coil?

I do apologize for that issue, I use the Sirius at 19 watts, as far as temp control remember 352 is the coil but the ceramic is covering it, I would suggest bumping it up to 420-450 to see some good Vapor production.

On a fully loaded Sirius at 19 watts Vapor production is about 2 seconds and clouds start at around 8-10 second range.

As for the taste not sure what happened I'll look into production and qc and see what's going on.

Please contact us and we'll ask a few more questions and see what's going on and get about replacing that coil.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

When you say bump it up to 420-450 do you mean the TCR value (that is what was set to 352 for Ti Gr2)? Or did you mean bumping the max temp from 370 F to 420-450 F?

Bump the temp to 420-450 because the ceramic needs to warm up as well. Not just the wire. There will be about 20-30F difference between wire and ceramic.

@elmoe420 any word on how the Sirius works with the new temp setting?

@Quint what TC settings are you using that it wont work with?
TC value 352 doesn't even kind of work for me. It ramps up to the max temp without producing any vapor. (500F) Even if I turn the power down to like 7w. I tried it between 7-16w, the coil is locked at .57.

and it works in power mode?

What mod are you using?

Power mode works yeah, eVic VTwo Mini. The same coils work well with my Omicron v4.
Does it automatically default to power mode when you press the button? Could it be that the coil is going beyond the 1.0 ohm limit for VT on that mod as it gets hot?

I see that some of you are using the 1701 wick donut on top of the Ti dual coils. Will the donut fit into the Quartz Ti cups? i mainly micro dose and was thinking the donut might cut down on splatter (since G doesn't believe in coil caps.... Why?)

I tried it a couple months ago and it would not fit. The quartz are just a tiny bit smaller diameter on the inside.

I just got the Omicron v4 recently and have been wondering about something. When I press the button quickly 5 times to turn it on and it blinks 3 times, sometimes it doesn't actually turn on. Say 95% of the time and I have to do the 5 clicks again. Actually I think out of all the times I used it it only turned on once with the first 5 clicks. I may be dreaming it worked that way that one time too, I am pretty sedated a lot of the time so dreamy events occur.

It shuts off perfectly every time with the 5 clicks and I can verify it is off by trying to push the button on the battery and see it doesn't light up.

I don't imagine I am doing the 5 clicks wrong because I am getting the 3 flash feedback that it's on.

Also, can you accidentally leave the unit on if you forget to power it off or does it have an automatic shut off.

-About the unit. I love it. Haven't used the torch and titanium nail since. I was only using it at 13w as the Alpha Centauri dual coil gr2 ti instructions suggest keeping it at 13w for longest life. I was not getting dab like effects at this setting, but was getting some real tasty hits with decent vapour production. Then I tried it at 16w and it was much more dab like in effect with approx 5 second pulses.

However, I am curious how you guys use yours at the higher settings like 16w and 19w? The manual says the higher the setting the shorter the pulses, but how do you get decent vapour production with 1-2 second pulses? Do you do 1-2 seconds on, 1-2 second off then another 1-2 seconds on and so on? Or do you do 1-2 seconds on then off and then right away another 1-2 seconds on to keep the heat up? Also, how do you guys specifically use the 19w setting? I don't want to burn out my coil.

Thanks.

Are they as deep as the regular ehd coils? How is the splatter?

Sorry, I don't use the quartz coils, they run a little too hot for me. That is why I was hoping to use the donut on top. They are pretty deep like the ceramic ehd coils but just a little smaller inner diameter so the donut will not fit.

Anyone? Seems to be a lot of technical talk in here, but nobody can seem to answer my simpler questions.

I don't believe so, it shows .88 at the max and never goes to power mode as far as I can tell.

My plastic button Omicron does that sometimes I think. I always thought maybe I was pressing the button too fast or miscounted.

I am not sure whats going on with your battery but we will be happy to replace it,

As for the unit currently its more of a open system where you control everything on it, it does not have a automatic shut off at all but next version is going to be incorporated with one.

I use mine at blue setting but that is me I guess i have yet to fry a coil, and if it does go south i can repair it right quick usually within 3-5 minutes.

As for pulsing i hold it for about 5-6 seconds at max and let go and hold it again. Hope this helps.

Not sure if your looking for something like this:

It's from http://www.molehillmountainart.com
Here's the image out of the quote:

Honestly, I can't say enough nice things about molehillmountainartdriptips.com, they're incredible. I somehow managed to misplace that tip/Omicron the other day. Doug (the owner) was kind enough to recreate it for me. I'll post an updated shot when my new Omicron gets here.

Thats beautiful, what does a tip like that run? Does it fit right in place of the metal tip without modification?

HUGE thanks to the team at w9tech for their support, and thanks to those in here that attempted to troubleshoot my unit. They offered some guidance and believe the battery to be my point of failure.

The attention and guidance they provided was much appreciated and we'll received. After attempting several fixes, they asked that i simply void the warranty on my pen by clearly marking it and a new one is in the mail.

Big thank you to the whole team, and i am so excited to finally find out what this device is capable of!

That one was $28 so they aren't cheap, but the quality is unmatched. It's red mallee burl wood sealed in a clear finish. Also yes, the tips fit perfectly

@THC SCIENTIFIC thank you for implementing an easy to deal with process for warranty claims. It made my replacement a breeze and no wasted money on shipping a defective part back to you.
