A new piece from DHgate has arrived, this time from paramountglass.

Ordered 01/04
Shipped 01/07
Delivered 01/16 in Canada

Took on a chance on this:
http://www.dhgate.com/product/glass-water-pipes-12-arms-perc-blue-glass/384013273.html

It arrived well packaged and was shipped in a timely manner but not wicked fast (compared to sunshine store).

The piece itself arrived with no damage. About 5 arms are not straight. The percolator in the mouthpiece has fewer slits in it than showed in the photo on the product page. Aside from that the piece looks nice.

Functionally, it's my first pillar piece and I was not impressed. I actually coughed on my first try, forcing me to reduce heat on my sublimator to 7. I don't remember feeling even the tingling of a cough with my fritted disk even if I am milking 0.3 on setting 8 (top flower heat setting).

Function video (sideways so I could get both chambers, will re-do later when the FC-1000 arrives):

I will experiment with water levels. For the price though I am not impressed with performance. My brother may receive this as a gift for his birthday. :D

Christmas keeps arriving in this household. Mailman brought another gift today.

The now famous FC-1000 from Steven.

Ordered 01/04
Shipped 01/07
Delivered 01/17 in Canada

First reaction when I opened the package: this is a big piece. See comparison photos with my rooster piece and the D020-D below. Had a small dent on the top, won't affect function. Pillars are straight. Nice wielding.
Carefully packaged (double boxed) and shipped in a timely manner.

A function video: I experimented with water levels and less water works better for me. With the amount of water in this video there was too much drag for my taste. A bit above the bottom perc seems to work best for me.

I got one final piece (fritted disk) coming from sunshine. Then I think my GAS will be satiated for some time. None of my new pieces will replace my daily driver, but thanks to China, not an expensive lesson, and I will still get use out of them.

Drain well? Huh? I have the Ftk. I like it. I think the dcycler so far has been the strongest recycling function design I've gotten out of china. It's too smooth of a hit.

I think my Ftk fab is a little loud but I don't think about that ever.

This may be of interest if you're thinking of ordering from DHGate during the next 3-4 weeks.

It's the Chinese New Year - a very big event in the Chinese calendar.
Looks like it goes like this:
12 to 26 Jan - workers travel home.
28th is the New Year's Day.
15th of Feb - date most stores will reopen.

I'm not sure exactly what this means for buyers - possibly little or nothing - but it's probably best to message the vendor and ask them how the holiday will affect dispatch and delivery.

Always on the prowl for new glass when I came across this little number. (with store coupon I paid $73) It's 8.5 inches high with a 14mm female joint. Contacted seller and they said it was 3-4mm thick made with colored glass not painted. Luv the UFO mouth-piece kind of gives it a almost CIVILIZED look to it :freak:

Post how it looks once you receive it please. That is a pretty piece

What it means for buyers is that you'll be waiting a few extra weeks. EVERYTHING shuts down for the New Year's holday in China.

Hard on Glass
Hi guys,
I haven't been around to lurk much and i see i have 100's of pages to read on this thread! :D

I'll ask anyway and if i find the answer after i'll look like a fool (very medicated, to boot) and do my mea culpa. To the question:

I bought from Steven (90% sure) a Stereo Matrix (i remember it being more expensive a year and a half ago) to use exclusively with my Enano + flower.

http://i.imgur.com/CYDOMyk.gifv

I also have a small Black Leaf bubbler with a showerhead diffuser for the ocasional dab of rosin.

Very satisfied with both, actually, and use the dhgate glass every single day. But for some strains i would like a little less diffusion maybe? Keep the flavors a bit stronger..

I saw @ataxian speaking of the d022 and the FC-UFO and both look nice. I was also eyeing a fab egg and a honeycomb style bong. The ufo actually looks awesome..thing is i already have a showerhead bubbler and -if possible - wanted to try different stuff. Where i live no one has glass so you cant really try it.. It's not a deal breaker, the important things are:

  • flavor
  • not too big
  • the less chug as possible (i have copd)

    Thanks in advance :)

The Beagle

Bubbles & Bags
use the dhgate glass every single day. But for some strains i would like a little less diffusion maybe? Keep the flavors a bit stronger..

I would love the same piece with just one matrix perc instead of two, is difficult to find a stemless straight tube without crazy amount of diffusion.

So I ended up picking up one of these from Sunshine Store on DHGate, which appears to be the perfect mate for the Grasshopper with a 14mm adapter added.

Forgive my ignorance, but this is the most insane glass piece I've ever owned, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how it is supposed to be properly filled or what water levels should look like in each chamber. Feels like I'm only getting 70% out of it currently.

Any help?

IME showerhead bubblers are some of the best for flavor retention - less bubbles the better. Small recylclers like this are also surprisingly good with flavor (there are a few other similar ones from other sellers, too). IMO stay away from any honeycombs, and pretty sure fab eggs are going to knock flavor back, too. Honestly don't have any experience with them myself, but with that much diffusion they don't look too good to me.

I'd suggest the UFO. It's a nice piece and fun with the hose attachment (but get a different piece of hose!). It's also cool that you can twist the mouthpiece to wherever and switch it up as you like. I think you'll find the hitting and flavor profile a bit different than the stereo matrix because of much less diffusion. It's really easy to hit slow and steady, and with those big slits bubbles will be at a minimum (which keeps more flavor). Once you fill the can and are ready to clear, you can clean it up as fast or strong as you like.

The FC-187 is a great piece with similar single "matrix" perc. And, can be had with a sidecar mouthpiece to boot! Can't post a link or pic because it is fake labeled - but check out this store and look for the model.

I'm heavily inclined to agree with you :)
Just seeing if some other type of perc would be recomended. (anyone tried a peyote pillar? what about one of these ball rigs?)
But yeah all you said about the ufo fits to desired profile. The hose is nice, though i don't think i'll use it (maybe with more people?), as i've had to Extreme Q and grown tired of the whip (had a silicone one).
Also i don't think it'll splash at all (my little showerhead bubbler would never work as a daily driver, to easy to pull water through the sidecar).
So i'm guessing i'll just offer myself the FC-UFO. Gosh, it's been a nice week as my girlfriend offered me a Santa Cruz Shredder..nice and fluffly grind for convection vapes!

I had a similarish piece, I found it robbed too much flavour, but it was probably bigger than that piece (43cm).
For water levels I would try filling the upper section first, with the water anywhere from just on top of the perc holes to the bottom of the green cap on the central stem.
Then filling the bottom chamber via the 18mm joint, I reckon 1/4 to half way between the discs would be the sweet spot.
With vaping I think less water would be better, and you can try filling only one chamber. Either percolator will give a different kind of rip.

PS 7th Floor Vapes sell an 18mm reducer in the same green colour. Looks good as a complete set

I'm certain that I once saw a proto' piece that was going to be made.
It was a diffusion pump perc', and vaguely the same overall shape as these:

I think the tire percs are your best bet and are a very easy draw. I think it is the D020-d that has a tire perc and I noticed it draws much easier than the matrix percs (please correct me if it is another d-series model you all).

In the link you have it shows how to fill the piece.
Fill the water so that in the very top matrix perc, the perc holes are covered. For the bottom person, cover the bottom honeycomb perc.

Try a smaller piece next time. A piece this large tends to rob so much flavor you don't even know if you're getting anything out of your vape sometimes!

I definitely remember seeing some pics and I'm interested to know as well. I think my next purchase gonna be a diffusion pump but would really like a tube shaped piece with a female joint.

I does look like a tire aha but isn't it a single matrix or something? it's exactly alike my stereo matrix.

Think most agree the best/cheapest -best bang for buck - diffusion pump is the good old 710 (14mm M) or the Rattle Can (18mm F). Both can be had from steveminz, who I've had great experience with. Haven't tried the Rattle Can, but probably would have chosen it over 710 when I purchased mine a couple years ago. But now, not sure which I would purchase. With all of the various adapters I've accumulated, the 710 isn't a problem. I like being right dead center on top of the can and a 14mm F > 18mm F (or 14mm F), makes it easy to connect to all vapes I use.

I does look like a tire aha but isn't it a single matrix or something? it's exactly alike my stereo matrix.

I would call the tire perc a hybrid between a "matrix" and the typical showerhead. Matrix style percs usually have many more smaller holes , which brings more diffusion. Not a big problem - even for flavor - if you keep your draw very slow and light. But, IME the tire or more wide open showerhead will provide a more flavorful vape experience - especially if you're using convection and are a big flavor chaser.
