@moondog Yep that is pretty much what I was thinking, hope I have some bubble wrap still buried deep in the utility closet in my kitchen or maybe did I use it all this past Xmas ?

but .. at this point the only thing I am possible annoyed with is what the shipping is going to cost AND a good friend of mine is dropping by for a visit coming week and he has been dying to try it and wanted to get it

wonder how he is going to feel about it now :haw:

personally after trying it I still feel strongly about owning one and salute the company for the marvel it is and look forward for a working one and hopefully one day a less prone to fault one

I've been hopping for about 2 years now and I never use the condom, it's really subjective but I would certainly say more than just the tip ...

meaning put more mouthpiece in your mouth, it's way cooler part the bevel

 Killing myself here! I do go higher than the tip (that lesson stuck!) lol . It is subjective, because i'm hauling on it from temp 4 to 5, and I take super big long hits (as you saw in my video). The silicone mouthpiece is SO much more comfortable...I don't experience the intense heat that some people do with it.

SOOOOO....what do you guys think the FEB 1st GH stock increase will be? I'm guessing $199/$249!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd caution you to do some research before throwing out accusations first though. "Now you're just" is a little unnecessary, there fella.

In my experience (of over a year dealing with them) Hopper Labs has been a piss poor company to deal with. Maybe I hold companies to higher standards than most, but I'm certainly not fabricating stories to make them look bad. They do that just fine on their own. As clearly evident by post after post after post of many other users.

Not trying to argue. You have your thoughts, I have mine. All good. Vape on.
So I took your suggestion of conducting some MAJOR research on this devious company you speak of. There's 15000 total units in the wild, there are 575 pages on this forum since the first one landed in our community here. Let's say there's a malfunction post on every page(which makes up for users claiming multiple warranties, such as your case), will round that figure up to a nice 750. So with 750 warranty claims you'd be looking at a 5% failure rate.
Here's a little blurb I found in regards to electronic products average failure rates.
https://www.squaretrade.com/htm/pop/lm_failureRates.html

5%-10%(we'll add a couple points to account for all warranties we are not privied to). In my opinion this is completely acceptable and understandable. Especially, being that I knew this was a start up company forming from an indiegogo campaign(which I'm hoping everyone knows). This company is still a baby and was started/is being run by two young dudes who are trying to provide users with the best possible vape at the best possible price(highly underpriced when compared to competitors) made in the good ol USA! ..kudos to them for taking on such a daunting task and making it this far. It could've all come crumbling down during the indiegogo campaign like a majority of them do. This is not a mega corp with unlimited funding trying to push chinese manufactured/designed products.. not to mention they offer LIFETIME warranty.

The nature of use of vapes is "sticky" and electronics no like sticky. So ya, they had a few hiccups in design but seem to be ironing them out fantastically. Mine both work flawlessly since day one, with extremely heavy use.

Again I understand your frustration having to deal with so many warranties but they all came through didn't they?

Also, after a certain point (10 claims) one must start to wonder where the problem lies. User error perhaps? Not saying this is the case but have you been experimenting with your usage? Same power source for charging(wall adapter, computer outlet)? Maybe you have an angry post man who kicks your hopper parts to your door every time like "Ace Ventura". There's a million possibilities as to where the problem could be originating from.

I wish it all works out for you in the end and hopefully you'll be satisfied.

Not sure if everyone saying that "having to pay for return parts should be on Hopper's bill" is a newb to vaping or what but no company that I can think of offers this. Otherwise they'd become a cleaning service for us lazy folk.

"fun" to join current conversation with my titbit but I got an answer on my warranty request and suppose to send it back battery, charger and all

But now I am confused about one thing, should I send it back in the box just like I got it ?, or should I send it back in just some bubble wrapper and padded envelope

easiest to just pack it up like it came and send it back but worried about the numbers on the back of the box
I sent mine back in the box ooops.

Not many companies will pay for you to ship the device to them.

While I agree it's not common,
Both Pax and Storz & Bickel have given me prepaid return labels (domestic, US) when I requested an RMA. With my early Craftys', S&B had not yet set up RMA application on website, so I paid to mail those in, just to save time.

Both those companies are well established. In 2014 I had to send my Volcano back to Germany(from Canada) for warranty. Give Hopper a minute and I'm sure they'll figure out better solutions.

I'm fine with the US domestic policy; my returns have cost between 2.10 and 3.50 US. I can buy accessories and add to my warranty item an so get free shipping on them!
As for better solutions, I hope HL can soon add service-type centers outside of U.S., for service & warranty customers regardless of point of purchase.

And they're most likely thinking the same thoughts and are preparing for it. They don't have enough cash flow to establish international CS centers yet. They haven't even fully launched yet!! Feb 1st comin up quick!!

Man, I HATE to post this but after about 2 happy months my SS hopper that I bought through Vapefiend while awaiting my pre-ordered TI is now... dead. On click it does the old red light to no light after about 2 seconds. I always had flickering blues, I always had hot back ends, but performance was perfect and varied only according to the strength of the batteries used. As to the reason why this may have happened? Just a day ago I neglected to knock wood after smugly wondering what all the QA fuss is about on this very thread.

One thing this experience has pointed out: this is my VAS-killer vape. The immediate need to fix this issue despite having fully functioning Mightys and CFVs was a bit absurd.

I can certainly relate... the other day I'd mentioned that I realized how uncomfortable I feel when my hopper doesn't seem to behave as expected. Having two didn't help, as both were behaving strangely, sent to GHL, got back, etc....
... which is why I'm seriously considering another vape for reliable home use - at least for when the Hopper takes a crap. So I was thinking of the Firewood 4....

Then I saw this thing. I know this is off topic, but holy shit!
They present themselves quite nicely...

EDIT: I oughta say that, while this thing looks cool, there's no way I'd subscribe to buying "K-cup" pods of herb from any company. I like my own sources (as I'm sure most of us do!). The last thing I want to see (but am afraid would be the outcome of a progressive legislature), is boutique products that make proprietary shit like cannabis capsules for machines like this.
Now, if they had a "make your own" pod, my interest would be seriously piqued!

So I tend to grind my bud up using a cheapo electric coffee grinder. I've got the technique down to get a medium to fine grind and tend to do 3.5g each time. It takes me about 2 weeks to work my way through the stash (used to only be one week when smoking), and I keep the ground material in a Jayarz container that @VapeFiend.com gave me for free when I ordered my original hopper.

Anyway the point of this post was, yesterday I got to the end of my 2 week ground stash which is usually very fine powder and mostly keif, you know what I'm talking about.

I wasn't paying attention and just loaded up the hopper as I always do and hit the thing like I always do.

EFFING HELL, I spent 1.5hrs shaking, pacing, sweating, attempting to write my will... I've pulled whities (greenies?) before but this was something else. It was even stronger than the Rosin I tried (granted in very small amounts). I had to spend the rest of the night sleeping it off, it was intense.

I love my hopper but now I frigging respect it (and fear it a little) too.

P.S. @guyonthecouch, loved that run down - wanted to reply yesterday but I was halfway dead. See above rant for details....

Coffee grinder, eh? Do you just throw in buds or do you try and break them apart to get at the stems? Good stuff doesn't have a lot, but I wonder, why not just pulverize the whole thing, hmm?

I haven't had this happen to me while vaping, but this was the not-uncommon reaction I would have with combustion (which is why I never became a frequent user until Vaping). Then again, I've got this vial of kief that I've been saving, thinking I'll make hash one day. But it's tempting to vape that stuff...

Your experience has me leaning toward hash!

Do you worry about the kief (dust) going into through the oven screen? I wonder about that.

I tend to break the buds down into malteaser (guess who has the munchies) sized chunks but that's just to get an even grind. I grow my own and remove most of the stalks before curing in jars. The little stalks in the nugs get ground out in the grinder so it all seems to work out.

I've had a few slightly too strong rips with the Hopper but they tend to level out after 15min this was something else.

I don't worry about it so much as tend to just be aware the end of a stash is usually stronger so in the past I've just don't a 1/2 bowl and had good results.

There is so much you could do with Keif:
  • Rosin press it (make sure it's not too dry)
  • Make moonrocks (not worth it for the hopper in my view)
  • Sprinkle some on top of a bowl for an extra hit (this is my preference)
  • Press into hash (I'd only do this to make travelling with it easier, I prefer it loose when just at home)
As for the Keif going through the heater screen, Yeh I'm a little worried, I wouldn't have packed the bowl with really fine material if I had been paying attention but I was distracted at the time so it happened. I wouldn't recommend it, the SOP is to lay down a layer of bud first and only single the Keif on top. Some people put some more bud on top to make a sandwich.

Nice, thanks...I think I'll sprinkle a bit on top... when I know I have no work to do for a few hours :)

I've made kief sandwich also, not just on top, since that will go thru mp screen. I use small amounts of kief at a time, just an enhancer.
Another option is wrapping kief in small amount of 100% cotton which will contain it well. All alone or sandwiched with flower.
You need pretty high temp if in cotton. And careful on your draw once it starts producing!
