Vaped w/ the OG finally late last night. Torch lighters not scheduled to be here till tomorrow, so I ended up using a Bic. It was interesting. 1st load I put in around .05. Probably a little more. I was burying it in the flame, heating it in the middle & going 2-3 seconds past the click (both clicks were loud enough w/ the tv on). Took around 20 sec. + to get to the click. Got 5 turns out of it, following the usual pattern w/ the 1st being the tastiest, then the 2nd being the biggest & then the ramp down of both till it's done. 5th one was beyond wispy w/ hardly any flavor. Tried a 6th time but got that burnt popcorn taste. Emptied the load & it was a dark brown, but no black. From all the usage vids done dry I've seen, I'd say vapor production is about half of what you'd get from a torch lighter. Maybe even a little bit less. Went for a 2nd load, fully packed, but added some crumble covering the top. This time I heated 5-6 sec. past the click and got some decent clouds. Tasty as hell. Got 6 go's at it this time w/ the crumble, w/ the 7th being the burnt popcorn one now. Load looked the same as before. Cap was as black as the mp, but matte. Washed it w/ some soapy water & soaked it in some iso & it was fine. It's starting to patina in the middle. Can't wait to try it w/ the torch lighter through water for better extraction, taste & vapor production.

A wipe with a dry paper tissue always brought back the cap in a clean state after getting it black with soot from a bic lighter... No need to wash in my experience. Welcome to the club!!!

As I was enjoying my Vapcap a bit ago, :whoa: I got a really long heat cycle. This one let me take at least a 10 second hit, blow it all out, and take 3 or 4 seconds more before the cool-down click. At almost full restriction of the carb. No combustion, just lots of flavor. But then I couldn't repeat it, getting my usual 6 or 7 seconds between clicks.
Anyone able to clarify what I might have done to get that longer heat cycle?

I know I would love one myself. That period where vapor has stopped and it hasn't clicked yet is where I get in trouble. Especially when I'm using my vong and/or multi-tasking.

Ok, it's official. I HATE YOU GUYS!

Why?

Because I don't have VAS. I don't get VAS. I'm not even curious!

Then this vape and all the positive feedback! A vape that's easy to use, easy to clean, auto-heat indicating, working with a plethora of heat sources, and can micro-dose.

I don't have VAS! I just ordered a VapCap S! :hmm:

I don't have VAAS! (Vape Accessory Acquisition Syndrome) Yet, I ordered a DynaStash ER. Magnets!!!! Who doesn't love magnets!!!! (Yeah, maybe IronMan?)

Seriously CIVILIZED! (Stealing @ataxian trademark here!)

You nailed it. Once I received my OG from puffitup and had 24 hours to use it, I promptly created an account on George's site and ordered a Ti cocbolo woody and bocote dynastash xl.

Two weeks later I ordered a burl woody....

I'm now waiting on a Vong. Do you see the pattern here? And many others have done the exact same thing. Once you get a taste of the vapcap magic DAS fill soon follow (Dynavap Acquisition Syndrome).

Wait! Are you saying I am going to be drawn in, enticed, to begin a collection of "Caps"? :nope: Let's see how long I can hold out with only the VapCap S! But I just looked at the Ti and Omni... Is it possible I am being drawn in????

@DDave I sometimes use vapcap with your 14mm wand, with some cotton half way down, then I vape that at some point...

I posted pics a while ago but this thread moves so damn fast, they are long gone....

There is nothing on the internet which I cannot find!

can anyone report if the ti tips will fit the og body? id rather buy just the tip rather than another whole kit for now
No, completely different. The OG has the glass chamber at the end (as you know) with the glass screen. The Ti tip and body are build completely diff

HI @Morty - I wouldn't try to go 5-6 seconds past the click with a torch lighter unless you want some serious combustion and the possibility of damaging the clicker in the cap.

I also LOVE my OGs and use them all of the time.

Glad you are enjoying your OG Vapcap!:clap:

GREAT idea! Now, this is just tongue in cheek but maybe it can have a pop-up button like a Thanksgiving turkey! LOL

I'm going down the same road, figured I would, but what do you do? Just going with it.. OG is so good, my husband is begging me to order more!! :D
The carbon fiber Omni, it has the amazing adjustable mouthpiece just like the Ti Omni, yes? It's in the cart..!!
I want to have a blackwood body to swap out with the carbon fiber, too, just in case.. that would fit, yes?
I've asked Matt and he's answered all my other questions, but I figured you awesome people would know. :)

The DAS, it's real. I have the OG, and an Omni with an additional double crown blackwood body. It's gorgeous! There are a couple other wood bodies I would like to have, but need to wait for some additional funds before I can place another order. Since I've had these, my others have seen very little use.

Visual would likely require some kind of electronics, which would go against the simplicity of the vape. Sometimes I have the home theater cranked up, and even without being able to hear the Vapcap, I can feel the click in my hand. So visual, no. Tactile, yes.

Just tried it. Works perfectly. The water/iso was overkill. Thanks!

HI @Morty - I wouldn't try to go 5-6 seconds past the click with a torch lighter unless you want some serious combustion and the possibility of damaging the clicker in the cap.

Definitely. Good advice. I read in the directions not go above 3 seconds, but since I put a good chunk of wax in & was using a Bic, I figured a couple extra sec. above that would be alright. With the double torch lighter, I figure I'll keep the limit to around 2 sec. after the click w/ concentrates, & respect the click using it w/ herbs. It's gonna be a lot fun playing around w/ it & dialing it in.

@DDave This VCAS shit is real. Watch out! A Ti tipped VC seems the next logical step-up for me. Of all the VC's I've seen on here & the web site, @Stevenski's in my opinion (knowing these things are personal), is the nicest one I've seen. It is a piece of art.

That thing is so cherry! It is B-U-T-FULL ! Can you take mp off the woody & stick the fat mp over it to connect to a bubbler ?

I feel like a broken record. (If you are too young a record is a flat disk that has grooves on it. If you drag a needle in the groove it plays music. If you break or crack a record it skips and repeats over and over again. I said that because I thought maybe they were too young to read the thread through to the end.)
I have tinnitus and can not always hear the clicks. I found a torch, lighter, whatever you want to call it, it has a cup around the flame that helps me hear the heat-click. I put a magnet, (from VapCap,) on an "Altoids" tin. When done with a rip, I place it on the magnet, when it cools to the cool-click the tin amplifies the click. Put coins in the tin for weight.
Oh, the torch is a Vector-KGB Pyramid. An added advantage the cup has a notch for pre lighting a cigar that you rest the VapCap's cap onto to spin. You always hit the sweet spot to heat the cap. Doc
Good luck.

I am super excited to see those go out. The tips are expensive at 40 dollars, but I'd totally shell out for one is people start reporting good results

George also has matching double helix titanium mps for the new double helix tip. I got one with my last order and it is stunning! This is a terrible pic and I will try to get a better one soon, as this in no way shows off the beauty of the double helix mp (DHM).

Cap was as black as the mp, but matte. Washed it w/ some soapy water & soaked it in some iso & it was fine.

You can avoid the suet build up all together if you position the VC above the flame rather than in it.

Has there ever been a discussion about a cap with a visual indicator for people with hearing issues?

Great idea. Have you seen the cookware (Jamie Oliver maybe) where the bottom of the skillet turns red when the pan is heated to cooking temps?

OTOH, I always hold my VC between cycles and I can always feel the cooling click. The heated click is a little more subtle because my hand is twirling the body and has less direct contact with it. But, if I pay attention, I can always feel it.

Then this vape and all the positive feedback! A vape that's easy to use, easy to clean, auto-heat indicating, working with a plethora of heat sources, and can micro-dose.

Plus it's magic. But you will come to discover this once you have it. And then the true VAS (Vapcap Aquisition Syndrome) will burrow deep into your soul....and you will LOVE it!

Yes, what makes the Omni the Omni is the threaded condenser and titanium mouthpiece that dials in your air flow. Any 45mm long body or Vong will fit the Omni.

Of all the VC's I've seen on here & the web site, @Stevenski's in my opinion (these things are personal), is the nicest one I've seen

@Stevenski has a beautiful Ti Burly. Even the mouthpiece looks like a perfect match.

Don't take the wood mp off, just slip the fat mp over top of it.
