I've owned an Omega for a while now and use it daily, so I wanted to share some of my experiences – hopefully it will help future buyers:
Usage Habits: Initially, I assumed a ball vape was exclusively designed for use with water pieces and that one-hit extraction was the main goal. Accordingly, I always set the temperature to at least 550°F – and was very happy with it. Thanks to input here (once again,
@coolbreeze was a major contributor), I started experimenting with lower temperatures. And that completely changed my usage. Currently, I set the PID to 480°F and use the
Xeric 2.0 as my glass piece, so no water. This doesn't allow for one-hit extraction, of course, but it gives me a constantly ready on-demand vape that's unparalleled in terms of flavor and airflow. This brings me to the…
Bowls: I currently own the
"official" glass diffuser bowls (with mesh screen) from CC, an original Shovelhead, a
14mm injector glass bowl (pass-through version with glass plug), and two
wooden diffuser bowls (micro and regular size) from DfreeZ-Designs (another tip from the great
@coolbreeze). I consider the CC glass diffuser bowls to be excellent all-rounders, also great for microdosing. I only use the Shovelhead with water pieces at higher temperatures (around 550°F) when I want to get really high after dinner with two big hits. I tried the injector glass bowl once – and never touched it again, which isn't the bowl's fault, but simply because I much prefer using the Omega as a diffuser rather than an injector. Currently, I use the two wooden bowls the most. It might be my imagination, but I feel like the wood and beeswax notes always subtly contribute and add to the great flavor profile. Wood is also just such a "cozy" material and incredibly easy to care for.
The combination of a rather low temperature around 480°F, the Xeric 2.0 as the glass piece, and the wooden bowl is so fantastic that the Omega is my most used vape next to the BAKx. The handling is super easy, the flavor is extraordinary, and the usage possibilities are practically unlimited.
I myself hesitated for a long time to buy a ball vape because I always mentally limited myself with the idea that a ball vape should and must be used for one-hit extraction with water pieces. And since I think water pieces are super cool, but I'm often too lazy to use them (or I get annoyed having to change the water and rinse the thing after every session), I didn't see a compelling reason for a ball vape. I wouldn't have expected that I now use the Omega about 80% as a "normal" on-demand vape, and it shows the versatility of this vape. So, if anyone has similar concerns as I did, this might be an incentive to reconsider: The Omega is more versatile than you think, and the bowls and glass pieces used have a huge influence on the possibilities of use.
Therefore, once again, a big thank you to the entire FC community for sharing their combined knowledge and the many tips and patient explanations. May Indica and Sativa always watch over you.
