That is beautifulHere's the first prototype for the threaded Arizer stems. I couldn't help myself, I had to do some more turning tonight.

For me at least, the stainless steel lined wooden stems you have suggested are just as good if not more so than a glass lined wooden stem. I'm not too fussy on the best flavour chasing
I'm hoping nothing has happened to it, USPS has been slow for me all this week on moving mail. That is awesome! How long did your delivery take? I think mine got held up at customs perhaps...
I am SO stoked for my body to be ready. I will let Winegums post photos of the build as he normally does. No spoilers from me. His laminate blanks are so neat.
So much for showing a pic when it's roughed out! It's practically done. I'm so happy with the 10x1mm SS tubing. It is going to make my life so much easier.
This is the custom Omni body for @scalescliffs
The previous pieces I made are Stems which are longer than the Bodies that are required for the Vapcaps with mouth pieces and the Omni.Ooo that looks dinky, me likes!
Is that a shorter body than normal or is it the pics perspective? Can I ask what the length is in mm?
Will do, Thanks! How the hell did I miss this thread.
Awesome work & more inspiration.
Nice thread keep the wood porn coming.

Stems are 62mm
Bodies are 45mm
Since I'm stainless lining these pieces you don't need a condenser if you want to go without one.
Will do, Thanks!
How stubby are you looking for? Minimal size piece for 14mm?Ah ha got ya, I thought it looked shorter than the 45mm body and was wondering if it was a stubby that I think was mentioned as a concept earlier in the thread.
Thanks for answering bud. Beautiful work.

If you can give me a minimum amount of wood you want sticking out of the glass joint I can make it.
That would be interesting for sure. I'm not sure about the long term durability of the cork though, as it would eventually wear down between the brass.I was just curious bud, I do have a few ideas though. I'll definitely be hitting you up for a custom stem but I'm still mulling over some ideas.
One I like but have no idea if it's feasible to make is a stainless core stem 62mm with layers of dyed cork rings of varying shades/colours. I think cork feels good in the hand. Maybe intersperse the cork rings with thin brass rings to add some durability and material contrast.

Drawings are my language, I'm a certified drafting technician. But you'll usually find me scribbling on anything I can find with a cheap ball point because I need to get my thoughts into a drawing. It certainly wouldn't be as durable as the wooden stems for sure but I think it would be durable enough to last if well taken care of.
I'll see if I can get a design drawn up and come back to you for your expert opinion.
HA! Oh yes it is. But I preferer it natural. @Winegums ever thought about using the cork for a stem? Durable? As wood, but lighter and more resilient. Must try.Dyeing the cork should be easy
SO funny you just mentioned bamboo at the end of your post! I was just going to suggest it!Drawings are my language, I'm a certified drafting technician. But you'll usually find me scribbling on anything I can find with a cheap ball point because I need to get my thoughts into a drawing.
I'm thinking I could do what you're thinking. Dyeing the cork should be easy, I just need to find a source of unused wine corks. I'm aware that Flor Grade cork exists for fine fly fishing poles and can be purchased by the section with a 1/4" hole in them. If that's a route you want to go.
Edit: I just had the crazy thought of making a bamboo stem. I will report back on this tomorrow.
