Where are the Game of Throne fans?

Honestly having read the books I can see why people wouldnt want to read them. It took me like 4 months to trudge through the 4th one? (maybe different one). I would sit down and read for 2-3 hours and feel like I hadnt read much worthwhile.

While I am a huge fan of high fantasy (Robert Jordan's WoT, Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss) I think that George R.R. Martin takes a perverse pleasure in making his books needlessly long only to compress all of the action into the last 150-200 pages. The show cuts out a lot of the extraneous details, hopefully not spoiling anything I feel perplexed that by 5 books in Daenarys has still yet to do anything monumental or something that moves the series forward

The way it actually happens and who does what is all conjecture from readers. There is a larger plot behind this one that is revealed later in the books, but it is never exactly stated who slipped Joffrey the poison. This larger plot includes a few different parties.

In the books Dantos forms a deeper relationship with Sansa. He uses this relationship to offer her a hair net of jewels that he makes her promise she will wear at Joffrey's wedding. This hair net was put into play by Olenna Tyrell. One of the jewels is actually a solidified form of a poison called The Strangler which dissolves instantly in liquids and kills just as rapidly.

The Tyrells know that Joffrey is a monster and also know that the Lannisters need them so with Joffrey the Terrible out of the way it is almost certain that they will marry Margory and a Tommen to keep the houses united. Tommen, being a young boy, would be much easier for the Tyrells to control.

Seriously, after reading all five (so far) books, the man is an incredible wordsmith/writer, lousy author. Marvelous vision, crappy plot development. Amazing character development, why dear godz are there so FUCKING MANY of them?!?!??!!! and, do they really ALL fucking have to die?

Sorry. I do love Tyrion (even tho...), and I love Bran (always), and wtf Jon Snow?!! but, I still love him, and SHIT Sean Bean. Dammit. He always dies. and the little girl, Arya. She is the heart --- that rots. Still worth it. Brienne of (um, can't remember. Tarley?) inspires me. Love that character. Hello? George? wtf are you thinking here? you are dropping the damned ball here. Pick this up and get some PLOT going, okay?


I'm still planning to start over with the first season, sometime. :)

I'm the same way, gringo. The writers could change the name of every character each week, and it wouldn't matter to me. I need the visual help of seeing the characters. The only name I remember is "Khalisa" and that's not even her name. :rofl:

I have to see Sansa do something with her life...I mean it's getting to be ridiculous...she needs to wise up and stab a bitch or two...the writers can't be doing this for fun so it must happen at some point. Can't be all for nothing!
