Where are the Game of Throne fans?

I tried to read the darn books but, I had to stop. It became like Dune or The Hobbit, just too long. If they behead Tyrion I may stop watching altogether.

Did I mention that GRR Martin is a terrible writer? I thought I said GRR Martin is a terrible writer, because I can assure you, GRR Martin is a terrible writer. I can tell by some of the words and having seen a few terrible writers in my time.

He's still got two (maybe three) books to go. The TV series will be over before he finishes the books, and I wonder if that's because (as @Deja Vu mentioned earlier) there's some serious writer procrastination happening:

1996: A Game of Thrones
1999: A Clash of Kings
2000: A Storm of Swords
2005: A Feast for Crows
2011: A Dance with Dragons
I can't help but think that he's leaning on the TV showrunners to show him the way—because they'll have to.

Very clever, haha. No doubt he is relying on the show writers to think up an ending for him! Regardless, Game of Thrones as a TV show has some nice art direction so I give it props for that

I initially refused to watch Game of Thrones. I thought it was some kind of nerd show. I can't believe how wrong I was. As of a few days ago I have completely watched all of the available episodes. Damn it is good. I can believe I am saying it but I think it is the equal of Breaking Bad.

I would disagree there. Breaking Bad was exceptional and is in a class of its own. So is Deadwood, for different reasons.

GoT is well filmed and acted, but the writing still sucks. I watch it for the performances and the production values, not for the plot, which is ridiculous and has more holes than swiss cheese.

Lol its interesting because I think the writing is superb

We're here to fuck shit up.
I read this in an article that included quotes from Martin awhile ago.

"I know the ending in broad strokes. I don't know every little twist and turn that will get me there, and I don't know the ending of every secondary character. But the ending and the main characters, yeah. And ["Game of Thrones" producers] David Benioff and Dan Weiss know some of that too, which the fans are very worried about in case I get hit by a truck."

The article does state this shortly after.

Complicating matters is the idea that because TV production is moving at a faster pace than Martin's writing, the show might overtake the plot of the published novels.

Lol its interesting because I think the writing is superb

I do believe the writing can be a bit long winded at times, but I don't think Martin or the show's writers are horrible at all. To each their own.

I don't think I mention any SPOILERS below, but if you haven't watched all of this season, STOP READING.
I tried to be creative with the events I listed below so in case someone continues reading without seeing the finale, they might remain a mystery to them(or just think I'm a weirdo-or both)

I(not having read the books),was rather content with the last episode and how it "ended" for now. I feel it blended a nice mix of new storylines for next year(Dead Dad, draining the Mountain:zombie:, the Incestously Challenged Duo, and the one true King<imo> -Jon Snow, He is my favorite out of the characters GRR hasn't killed yet lol) and brought some viewer "headway" to others(Ariya, finally done traveling with dog, and "Master Blaster" finally reaching the damn tri-ops, were 2 that seemed to drag on endlessly this season. Good to see some change in their respective scenery for next year. Flying reptiles, not so much there though, wtf? Boo--Hisss).

Oh, I amlost forgot. THE super TALL guys at the wall(and tunnel) were just...f%$@ing cool!

I think the last two episodes really show up a lot of plot weaknesses. Some of the things that happen are just too outrageous, the Jon Snow thread in particular.

The whole show is outrageous, no? Isn't that kinda the point of the whole thing? Total escapism into an outrageous world, eh? Aren't shows such as these MUCH more fun if one suspends their beliefs and expectations of how things "should be" for awhile?

I'm with Gwello. I'm really enjoying this.

I know that there are those that go into a movie or a TV show and pick apart plot lines and I guess for them, that in itself is entertainment, but for me, unless it's TOTALLY incongruous, I'd rather not look behind the curtain.
