Shoplifters wore watermelons on heads while robbing Virginia store

A pair of shoplifters wore hollowed-out watermelons on their heads while stealing from a convenience store in Virginia, police said.

Surveillance cameras caught the seedy characters roaming around a Sheetz store around 9:30 p.m. on May 6, wearing the melons with cut-out eye-holes as masks

NFL player says he was sexually harassed, assaulted during United Airlines flight

According to the lawsuit, the player and another passenger in the same row made four complaints to flight attendants that the woman was making "unwanted sexual advances" before she was moved to a different seat.

The two men are suing United, the lawsuit says, because the airline refused to give them the name of the woman, the flight attendants and potential witnesses, and because the airline failed to follow policies to respond to sexual harassment and assault on the Feb. 10 flight.

Hard to believe the actual story might not involve overt racism but trolling. The guy/victim has apparently appointed himself leash monitor at the park . As he wrote in his Facebook post at :
Central Park this morning: This woman's dog is tearing through the plantings in the Ramble.
ME: Ma'am, dogs in the Ramble have to be on the leash at all times. The sign is right there.
HER: The dog runs are closed. He needs his exercise.
ME: All you have to do is take him to the other side of the drive, outside the Ramble, and you can let him run off leash all you want.
HER: It's too dangerous.
ME: Look, if you're going to do what you want, I'm going to do what I want, but you're not going to like it.
HER: What's that?
ME (to the dog): Come here, puppy!
HER: He won't come to you.
ME: We'll see about that...
I pull out the dog treats I carry for just for such intransigence. I didn't even get a chance to toss any treats to the pooch before Karen scrambled to grab the dog.
HER: DON'T YOU TOUCH MY DOG!!!!!
That's when I started video recording with my iPhone, and when her inner Karen fully emerged and took a dark turn...

Off-leash dogs are a pet peeve of mine.....pun intended.....

I think the "dog leash" issue began when the lady with the dog broke the law. I LOVE DOGS but I don't always love the owner. I like to run but I don't like being chased :)

I have owned dogs my entire life and I'm a poop picker upper and adhere to leash laws. Not all owners do. There have been two dog attacks in my neighborhood recently and the number of times an off-leash dog has come after me during a run is way too many. I was walking my daughters tiny dog when from behind me I heard a huge dog coming up fast and growling. I had no choice but to lift that tiny dog by the leash like I was hanging him because there was no time to try and grab him with my hands. The owner of the dog came running down the street a couple seconds behind the dog. He apologized and said "I thought I could just let him out the front door without the leash at this time of night". Same dog attacked another dog that was being walked by their house and this time it bit the person walking their dog when they tried to intervene. Thankfully the other dog was big as well this time.

I used to run in a park with my dog before heading to work. There was a lady who was a professional dog walker who would allow half her dogs of leash in the park. Several times her dogs would chase me and my dog during a run and once my dog stopped healing during a run and caused me to face plant when he crossed in front of me to face the off-leash dogs. Up till then I hadn't said anything. I put my dog up and asked the lady to please follow the leash laws. She said her dogs were all friendly. I tried to explain that mine isn't great with other dogs which is another reason to keep her dogs leashed because the other dog might not be so friendly. I don't think she believed me. She explained that she comes to the park early so she can run the dogs off leash and suggested I find another park or another time to run. I pointed out that the signs to leash your dog are everywhere. Sure enough the next run it happened again. I put up my dog and told her the next time her dogs chase me I'm going to run across the major street bordering the park and I'm not going to concern myself with whether her dogs know how to look both ways. Few weeks later it happened again and I ran across that street. She was screaming like crazy for her dogs to come back once she realized I was running straight toward the busy street. I could tell from her voice that she was freaking out as I crossed that street and luckily her dogs didn't get hit by a car. From then on I never had another issue with her.

I am also a long-term dog owner who always has his dogs on a leash when out front. I agree with leash laws completely.

I remember when I was walking my two pit-mixes one day down the street when a neighbor was talking to her friend with her two little lap-warmers at her feet. Unleashed of course. Suddenly, her dogs went nuts. Barking insanely while taking off and running towards me aggressively while everyone had a moment to think about what might happen.

My dogs went nuts right back at them and were straining at the leash to answer the challenge. I had a dual leash that was connected to my waist so my dogs were not getting away, but the little dogs kept coming. Friend is running behind the dogs ineffectively screaming for them to stop and I'm backing off and trying to pull my dogs back thinking they were about to treat these little dogs as they would treat those damn squirrels if they ever got a hold of one. Barking, screaming, yelling and me pulling up my dogs' collars much like the woman in the twitter clip while spinning away from the barking dogs. Friend finally caught up to the dogs and picked them up to carry them away. As soon as the running, barking attack stopped, my dogs return to near calm and are ready to move on.

I think I was a fraction of a moment from my dogs killing or seriously wounding her dogs right in front of her. That would have been real fun.

Not being community leash monitor, I didn't report her to the authorities.

@Tranquility - My grandog was a pit-lab mix. I absolutely loved that dog. He was such a gentlemen. If you saw him from behind he looked just like a lab but if he turned to the side you could see how deep and muscular his chest was and from the front ... those beady eyes and wide set jaws would usually catch people off-guard who expected a lab. My next door neighbor saw me in the yard with him and walked into my yard and asked if I had a new dog. The dog hadn't turned toward him and he had reached out to pet him. The dog turned his head toward my neighbor and his eyes went wide and he pulled back his hand. Dog never got aggressive...it was just that he was expecting a lab's head/face.

Absolutely to u guys, I used to live on CPW and have always had dogs on leash in the park (30 ft long line for extra zoomies), what many Owners don't realize is that certain dogs exhibit 'leash reactive' behaviors or triggers put simpler, for example, I'm on walk with my leash reactive dog who gets triggered at the slightest visual of another dog, squirrel, skater kid, whatever. While you're walking your dog off leash but have been saying to every other person on walks.. 'it's OK she's friendly".. Well my dog ain't so kind to strange dogs wanting to sniff right up to me or my property, and let's say my dog bites your off leash mutt and a fight ensues, then what? Yes I will b in trouble with animal care and control. I think education and understanding is key to being a responsible owner. Follow local leash laws no matter where in public it's not that hard. 🐩💨
