Volcano Hybrid

So my hybrid showed up finally in the mail - I’ve been vaping on it for almost a week now and I’m really happy I bought a hybrid. This is my permanent desktop now until it stops working (it seems very solid) I got mine used under 3 hours of use for the price of a Classic in USD. I like the versatility of filling a bag with layers of vapour at different temps and I like the balloons its cool having a nice big balloon of vapour on hand all at once - the draw is very low to get a huge hit. The air pump is really impressive and the unit can very quickly provide you a giant balloon of strong vapour making the ritual more about the high than 'the method' in my experience I love it.

The whip on the Hybrid is like a much stronger version of my previous favourite vape the Plenty. I like the volcano for flavour - especially with the whip and taking a direct draw its a very strong taste - the bag will mute the flavours a bit but i LOVE the 'density' or just throat feel of the vapour when inhaling or exhaling.

My desktop vape search is over I still kind of want to try EVO and a ditanium but Im really enjoying the Volcano experience.

Great deal on the Hybrid, somebody scared themselves out of a good desktop.

When you only use the whip, have you tried the technique I described, to blow the terps off in a power hit? One hit per load of material, then it's ABV.

Those terps have made my lungs feel clean and fresh. My SPO2, awake and asleep, has increased. The flavor is fantastic. This thing is un-doing 50 years of smoking dope and getting all the oils in my lung sacs.

After over 3 pounds of material through the whip, it is still clean inside, with only some light clear liquid showing in the first 8 inches. No sticky oils to condense inside the lungs. I get high on the vape, but also get a great buzz from the cookies that one-time use ABV makes. The whole idea is to get the benefits, without the lung issues.

Works for me. Others can heat the material until all the chlorophyl is burned off, but my lungs hate that stuff.

BTW, I believe this technique would be about as good with the high quality "hemp" being grown now, legal in all 50, and a lot cheaper.

Yea I was really surprised when I bought it used turned it on and under 3 hours - I've already added an hour in about 3-4 days now.

Yep ive tried the whip out as recommended and got great results so far thanks - the whip really does feel a bit like a Plenty - the vapour is 'different' tho on a Plenty and i guess more like original volcano - the timing of the heater on the Plenty also totally changes the experience. Ive been using the bags a lot more than the whip so far as they are a newer experience to me - I like the volume of vapour you get all at once and how easy it is to even manually pause the fan, heat up to a higher temp and stack temperatures in a balloon with the Hybrid.

I have a whole jar now of some high quality ABV from some Gorilla Glue, Purple Bruce Banner etc etc i need to cook it up this week somehow - the S&B products have a really nice even quality to their ABV across all the devices ive found - the new hybrid will seem to go a bit darker depending on how far ill run a bowl, the Plenty i used the most before this has an actual bigger bowl so the Volcano bowl size is very good for me.

I think ill try out an Obsidian and then my home setup is complete - the Volcano is so great to just take outside on my balcony enjoy the sun and get BLASTED, its easy to move around and I find a bit smaller and lighter than it looks to be in youtube videos

2 bags = hmmm im very pleasantly stoned this is nice - rest the Volcano for an hour and half ill be back
4 bags = where has this thing been my whole life i haven't even touched a lighter this whole time - put the volcano away for the night

I have a glass magma, and it may only help a bag,. That is because the air coming through the whip is cool.

I only heat and hit the material for one lung full, using the air pump to fill my lungs. I wait ten seconds to heat the material, and do two deep breaths while waiting, then fill the empty lungs via the fan and whip. A very dense vape goes in. No cough what so ever. I am at 420* now. The one-hit ABV has most of the actives still, and makes good butter.

No more joints, period. Gonna get rid of the dabpress somehow also. Blast rig disassembled and gone.

I'm probably paranoid because of how blasted off this thing I am but. I just got my Hybrid and am wondering what a normal smell for the air coming out of a heated, chamberless volcano.

Heated up, nothing on top of the Hybrid. I just got mine yesterday and I'm paranoid the smell I smell means something is wrong with it - not that it's a bad smell necessarily, but I just am paranoid that I wouldn't know what is and isnt normal lmao. Kinda smells like the hot air that comes out of the hairdryer on mine. I did a "burnoff" but that didn't change anything which makes me think its normal, but I figured I'd poll everyone

It smells like, well, like hot air out of a hairdyer? I don't know where else ive had hot air blown at me but....Idk I think I'm paranoid.

yea maybe its just the volcano air pump running thru the heater so far ive never found an odd quality to it - hope it doesnt effect your volcano enjoyment

I just had it unplugged all day and plugged it in and turned the fan on the cool air definitely had a smell to it but not like a bad smell just a....smell? Like it didn't smell like the air in the room was getting blown at me it smelled, well like a pump was pumping air out lmao

Ugh I feel like the only way I won't be paranoid about it is exchanging and getting another and smelling that but I dont wanna go through all that

Hot metal smells, the Volcano has a big ass aluminum heat sink in there. Probably what you are smelling. But, doing burn offs at max temp can't hurt

Thats true, hot metal does smell. I need some sanity checks so this helps lmao

I've done multiple burn offs where I set to max temp, let the fan go for 10 mins, and then turn the temp off and let the fan go for another 5-10. The smell is exactly the same out of the box before I ever hit it, as it is right now. That either means nothing is wrong with it...or something is super wrong with it (my paranoid ass hahaha)

You could always ship it in for an RMA. I shipped my Crafty+ in to them with a problem and they replaced it right away. Well not quite right away, turnaround time was around 3 weeks. That's still pretty fast to me especially in this time of covid. They even gave me a pre-paid shipping label. So great experience as far as RMA goes.

I'm actually kind of worried about my Volcano Hybrid now, because it stopped producing vapor at lower temps. If I put it on 330, the first 2 bags are clear, but the third one is nice.

Interesting... S&B's social media is blowing up with pissed off customers right now. Wonder if she was a customer herself that got screwed and decided to investigate. For a company as large as they are, they have been dropping the ball HARD recently.

recently joined the hybrid family and loving it but I do have a small issue. Not sure if I need bigger bags than stock or if I’m not using enough herb, but, my fan fills up the bags VERY quickly.

I can’t make custom workflows, because of the iOS issue, but using the preconfigured ones, I can’t even make it through the first 2 steps before the bag is totally full. I figure I get maybe a total of 10-15 seconds of the fan before it’s full. This usually leads to not very dense bags.

Any thoughts as to the issue?Really appreciate the help!

You must be using the web app right? My bags take 40~ seconds to fill so your fan sound like it's in over drive. Standard bag size is about 19-20" long iirc.

Haha there's no psuedoscience going on here, and it's pretty intuitive that you will vaporize more water (which is humidity) when your heat source is closer to it... I don't want to clutter up the Volcano Thread, so if you check out the bubbler thread in the accessories section we have a bunch more information and pictures that show the humidity increase when using our bubblers. Depending on your location, Bag-to-Bong yields around 30-60% RH. With Magma/Obsidian it's instantly 100%.

you guys ever looked into making a protector for the piece? mine fell 3 feet on a carpet and broke. I think something like the evo vape exhales case would we sweet with it. If nonthing else would give my piece of mind back

Got my hybrid on Thursday! My only dry-herb vaping experience so far is with my Pax 3 so needless to say this was an awesome upgrade! Looking forward to trying the Magma Obsidian when it arrives next week. I noticed the bag feels warm when first filled (400°F) so it will be interesting to see how much of a difference that will make.
