Vestratto Tornado heating tips

Hopefully my wand and the tempest insert fits the Tornado from above so the heating can be done hands free🙏

I've pushed the insert way down to demonstrate.

Don't do this - if you push it in/rest it on the wrong angle your Tornado will get stuck, you will break the glass insert getting it out.

Ask me how I know :(

(I'm on my 4th glass insert)

Ah man, that's no fun.. Did you find another way to heat it hands free?

Did you buy the other inserts for experimenting?

I have to figure out, must be a solution 😎 But I appreciate you mentioning about the insert so I don't ruin mine.

I use the black insert for Dynavap. It works well either even to the bottom of the wand or pushed down a bit depending on how much heat you want to put in.
Edit - there is aTableTop bong YT video where he uses the insert for the Tempest, as another way.

Mine didn’t fit this way. I’ve had to try a few things, As I would like to be hands free as with my tempest. Anyone tried just letting the nado rest on the lip that is otherwise the blocker from inserting from the front (wand turned upside down)

Hey @AndyO

Just got the tornado. Haven't tried it in the wand yet other than it fits very well in the wand with tempest insert from above. It's not a narrow fit and easy to take in and out.

So I was wondering, is yours different? Just wondering what chances are that my insert will crack too.

Edit: here's a video. It was a little tighter than thought, but not hard to take in and out. In the video i miss the wand because I'm filming..

I don't know when my wand was produced as it's second hand, it's a few years old that's what I know.
Wonder what the different sizes are all about 🤔

If you really want to do it hands-free that maybe you could rest the Wand on its side? Not sure if the Tornado would roll out but I would try it on the side and bring the tip right up to the glass lip but don't push it through. It might rest somewhat diagonally.

If yours fits all the way through, scroll up a bit in this thread and read about heating the section where the airholes are instead of the bowl area. This seems to give better results for me (it's more forgiving) but you won't be able to do it hands-free. It's nice to experiment though.

Just got my tornado and put it in my wand and nothing it doesn't heat up at all . It blinks red for a bit then says no load and I've tried 4 times now. First 3 times I tried to keep it in the center of the wand last time I kept it touching the wall of the wand and still zip. Anyone else encountered this ? ):
@stonedBBer I'm also having this problem. Did you resolve it?

Edit: I got to work when with the tornado insert like in this picture
Initially thought the airholes had to be more deep inside.

I tried with some CBD hash, 300c untill time-out. Got some taste but didn't see much vapor at all (or anything at all). The airflow was very good, not restrictive at all. Trying again on higher temp next.

It seems to be quite fiddly with the wand. Even ignoring potential error messages.

I also notice that the device heats up very fast with a torch. I feel like torch is the way to go imo. Or the Forge/inductor of course for those who have one.

I don't think I'm going to waste much time fiddling with the wand, as it seems troublesome.

Got mine working good with the wand. Insert from above. Airholes showing barely above the hole. 260c until almost time out, taking it right after clilcks.

I bought an inductor because I consider the Wand to be under-powered for the tornado. Either that or a torch. Tornado needs a lot of energy.

With full battery its possible to to have 18-20 bowls. A member here did a test awhile back and it's uploaded on YouTube too. So not necessarily underpowered for a ih.

I don't mean how long the battery lasts but how much energy can the device put into the Tornado. The Inductor is a beast in that respect. I'm looking for very short heat ups: 3 seconds max. I don't want to cook the flower for 20+ seconds. The Forge is a complement to the Tornado, precisely because it can out put so much energy. Already that points to "what Tornado likes": lots of energy in short blasts.

Maybe I'll get the Inductor some day as it seems to work brilliantly. But I don't have a designated vape place for it now. Though my vaping things are already taking up alot of space I'm sharing with my gf in a relatively small apartment. She doesn't partake so very glad that she hasn't said anything about all the vape stuff I'm having "all over". I'm happy with the wand and torch for now 😄
