I received my unit today.:) Thankfully there appeared to be no shipping damage, tho the 18 mm bowl does have a hairline crack in it. The The unit itself looks great as does the stand which is very thick and sturdy. I would have preferred a white cap instead of the red I got but not a big deal. I also think a white cord would be a nice touch . The case seems plenty good enough to carry around a vape, unless you plan on beating the hell out of it.

As soon as I got my unit I opened everything up gave a quick inspection and began hooking it up and turning it on. I decided to start at 74v let it heat up a while and took a huge rip. I was impressed, took a few more rips and then combusted. Backed her down to 68v and will go at it again in a little while.

One thing I noticed right away is the bowl is huge so I think I will use it like Zangano showed and see how that works for me. The heat issue hasn't been a problem yet, the bowl didn't get as hot as my E-Nano bowl.

:science:Back to testing will report back later.

--:):):)Digital control unit - my only gripe with this is that it's a bit finicky to dial in and just bumping it slightly nudges the voltage up or down. Otherwise, it's digital readout is easy to read and the blue lit background isn't bright or garish.
Received mine today and I'd guess FedEx is, in fact, tossing these boxes around. My FedEx box was pretty beat up. Surprisingly, all my glass was intact, no chips, no scratches, but my control unit performs in the same finicky way as Mister G has described. I was on the phone with G(from Warp9Tech, not Mister G) at the time and he suggested this is likely a short and a potential fire hazard.
I spoke with Chris(who was discouraged at the state of the Fedex box, but excited to hear all else was intact) and was happy to send me a replacement control unit and said he's going to stop using Fedex because of it.
I recommend anyone with the same issue contacting him for a replacement as well.

It is so disappointing to hear that Fedex is acting in such a manor. Boo Fedex, bad form. I also think a new carrier is in order. Happy to see they are moving on.

It is good that a new controller is on the way. Hope it solves the problem @Adobewan.

Mine has just been delivered. Will add some thoughts in a while.

Edit: Okay so here we go. Was able to test and I am super impressed and super high. As such this will be short for now. Please keep in mind that as a vaporist the heaviest vape I have used is the Plenty. I have big lungs and I can get it to blow what I think are pretty big clouds. I know many don't rate that product but for my own reasons I do. I have never used a Cloud of any sort, nor a Sub nor a Herbaliser. None of those have been right for me personally so far for various reasons.

That said. So far I love this thing. It paired perfectly with my new water tool. I kind of randomly heated it up to 88 which I then remembered is a number considered to be very lucky in Chinese numerology. Anyway so saw that as a good omen and left it to heat for 10-15 minutes. Just used a pinch of my generic hydro indica. Got some nice clouds, 3-4 good rips. Abv was very dry but looked light still. However, I felt all the goodnes had been well extracted.

Then tried it with some sativa. Put a little more in. maybe .1 Really nice clouds and quite a few pulls. To be honest I am so stoned I don't know how I am writing at the moment lol

So based on this experience so far I think this is a very good product. It is not fully realized as yet imo. The heat is a serious issue for me. I didn't burn myself yet but I am a dope and it scares the living shit out of me. It is simply a matter of time before I burn myself. so be warned, be careful. Mind you it isn't that bad but when I tried to use boost mode (is that just cover the three holes? ) it was really hot around there. I could touch it but it wasn't comfortable.

Anyway, I have been highly critical and impatient with this project since shit went postal. I have more to add regarding my thoughts about versa and a few other vape related points. But for now I am so, so high. The Vape works. It arrived. I have received what I paid for.

Let me say this. All other vapes have been put in the case the infinity came in. This is now my daily driver for the time being. I like it. I'm going for another go. See you :)

To start boost, just cover with the palm of your hand the bottom of the unit.
Or easier, just put your middle finger in the hole of the bottom unit till it plugs the unit air intake hole.
I mostly use this last method...
NOT SCREAMING...
WARNING: BOOST IN NATIVE FORM CAN REACH COMBUSTION EASILY IN 1 SECOND.
USING EQ CAP AS SCREEN AT MALE BOTTOM OF FLOWER BOWL WILL NEVER COMBUST EVEN AT 117V and BOOSTING ALL THE WAY.
WHEN BOOSTING I MEAN IT.
NOT SLOW SIPPING. CRANK THAT WT!!! SLOW SIPPING BOOSTING USING 117V COMBUSTS...

@lwien You're going to like this...
fyvx.jpg

I don't know if my scale measures that tiny pinch. Barely covers the EQ cap top.
The scale is 0.01g AWS. Works very well to me.
zlxb.jpg

Sometimes my line goes to 118v...
x8ko.jpg

Boosting 1/4 teaspoon like 3 or 4 times ,on the left ABV.
Boosting tiny pinch .03g barely covering the EQ cap top... 3 on the right.
Very full good extraction IMO...
Note to the rest of the beta team:
Micro tiny loads using this method on boost improves flavor.
It's like a snap. One full can of thick vapor and that's it. No more vapor. But crank your draw. Slow sipping combust.
1/4 teaspoon still off flavor at 90+V...

Just quickly. I have combusted twice when using boost. Be very careful. This vape is going to have some kind of learning curve in terms of working out ideal temp ranges and combustion zone temps. I combusted at 100v and then 88v with boost. It was disgusting. Both times I needed to do a thorough cleaning as I am super anal about combustion smells. I can't stand it. Anyway it is basically gone now.

Just using it regularly at 88v is great. I'm getting full extraction of about .06 with about 2 big rips and 2 whispier hits. The effects are awesome. I've just been heavily stoned for a few hours now. I'm done for a while.
If anyone has any questions please ask.
@zc thanks for the tips dude. You've really been giving this thing a workout. Are you liking it better now?

@Zangano Cruel
Those are some super small amounts! 0.03! That's awesome if you are getting one nice big rip off that tiny amount.

@Mr. Gweilo 420
Glad to hear you received you unit and you like it. :)

One big rip. Fast and the furious jajaja
Flavor is better this way. And the Blaze Tire perc bub is quite big in vapor volume capacity. As much as the Matrix. I'm a boost guy with this vape.
If the infinity manages to isolate a total glass airpath, could be a winner even with the overheating problems.
This kind of heater IMO is really powerful used in this way. Too powerful that overwhelms flavor IMO. It's hard to explain. It's like when you eat too warm pizza. You know the flavor is there but your senses are overwhelmed by the warmth sensation in you mouth.
I found some exposed wire at the bottom of the unit. I'll check it tomorrow. Insomnia is kicking high tonight :\

Man, this thread is moving so damn fast, I'm having a tough time keeping up. Don't you guys have a job? Kids? Something?

Can someone fill me in on this? My vv unit works fine, but it is definitely touchy in the sense that it's difficult to set it to a specific voltage. I sometimes have to be fine with 81 instead of 80, for example. I have also noticed that sometimes the voltage will drop. I will have it set at 80 and look over to see it has dropped to 76. I figure this is just one of the quirks of certain vvps. But this post gives me pause. Deets please?

Also, my experience so far has been about identical to Mr. Gweilo's. Super impressed with how much vapor this thing produces with even a small amount of herb, and it gets me high school stoned. I am waiting for more experience to make any comparisons, but after a handful of sessions, I am almost ready to say it might rival the EVO in terms of ability to stone the hell out of you quickly. More testing needed to even begin to support that statement, so please don't start a firestorm over that statement. It could be accurate, though.

Boost is not necessary or preferable with herbs, I am finding. Way too easy to combust.

Regarding Boost, Leiana posted once IIRC a tip that I've been using with success - use boost just until the moment when you see it bump up the milk volume in your piece, then immediately unblock the boost hole to prevent combustion. I've found this to work. The one downside I've found with boost is it tinges the flavor of the hit a bit in a negative way, not terrible, but noticeable.

My sweet spot so far is just about 70v, but I go up/down 5 or so here and there, but I find with my current strain and fine dry grind this hits well and reacts to the boost well. Kief topped herb is really something with the Infinity, the flavor is almost like dabbing sublimate yummy.

@TheDudeNextDoor : @Adobewan posted something about calling the control box maker and finding his control unit to be faulty, I just think the controls are "loose" and it easily drifts the voltage, but PM adobewan and see if you have a bigger issue than that like he reports.

Completely agree with the Dude. I'm also what you would call high school stoned. Also right on with herb. Use boost at your own peril. It's not necessary for herb. I just did .2 indica at 95w. It was awesome. 3 huge rips massive thick dense flavorful vapor. I couldn't take anymore. Goodnight.

@Zangano Cruel and others, my box maxes out voltage at 112v - how is yours going to 115 and higher? What's everyone else's max setting?

Here is other info on how my control box behaves that I'm not sure is normal or not, can you guys comment on if this matches your experience:

I have to turn it past half way to get the blue display to come up and start showing voltage. It is very sensitive and responds to minute movements, tricky to dial in to exact voltage and it drifts up and down, mostly when the box or dial is bumped.

One last thing - there's no Boost whistle! Was that a red herring? It just muffles the sound of the air draw. I wanted a whistle

Do your dials click to the voltage or is it very smooth yet somewhat easy to overshoot the voltage you wanted?

The second thing, it slides, no clicky at all. I just assumed this was normal.

Maybe I would be more concerned about this, but I'm just so happy that Mr. Gweilo got a working unit with no damage :nod::nod: I can imagine the epic rant

beta guys, thanks for interesting reviews!

can someone chime in on the particulars of cleaning an infinity?

In the spirit of disclosure, I'll add my own experience thus far and I'll admit my own sour grapes...............EDIT: I'm SPOILED at this point because I have the holy trinity taking care of me day-in/out; I had fully planned to put everything away and give this thing hell, but like I said, I was just underwhelmed big time with the condition of everything upon arrival and did not care to invest more of my time to get everything clean when that should have been done pre-shipping... beta or not.

hey man, that's too bad. i can't reason what happened to the your unit or why but been some interesting reviews on the infinity and you seem like you really wanted to push the vape. would've been cool to see if you thought d infinity could match any of your holy trinity. it'd be like some kind of vape "fast & furious" thingy, vroomm vroommm......

man, i wished i had an infinity (i'm budgeting for one) right now. even if i got a dirty one, maybe, just maybe she'd be like some ol' piece of discarded junk but after i cleaned her up n all, vroomm vroommm.....

ok, truth is i was hoping you'd do a review because i wanted to see a showdown vroomm vroommm  ....... if you ever consider doing some testing in the future, you'd be doing it for us here too.

Cleaning seems to be mostly about the bowl. The flower bowl gets dirty quick with crumbly abv particles on the screen (my screen is getting a dark ring around the edge) and oil vapors browning the glass. The heater body itself will probably take a long time to get dirty if at all.

Follow up on the Voltage Box - I've been assured by Versa that my control box is functioning properly, @Adobewan 's was apparently shutting off by itself (?) which mine does not do.

I've also posted other things on the Versa forums, I can't keep track of what I've put where so if you want even more info, go over to Versa's website.

I wonder if the unit utilized a 14mm joint setup and a smaller heater, if you could achieve all the desired results with less chance of combustion and less heat issues?

Edit: If you kept the same diameter outer body you would have more air to help dissipate heat?

Wouldn't a whip or a straw require yet another different adapter for the bowl?

As mentioned before, the Versa looks like a glass EQ.

So for whip usage, wouldn't an EQ type cyclone bowl work, an 18mm f -> 18mm f + elbow.

Or place the infinity on its base, place the bowl on the heater, and use a Female 18mm ---> hose adapter like 7th floor offers.

Yes, the extreme q whip would work fine for this application. I think Versa even recommends the extreme whip.

My VVPS maxes at 114 volts. I also have to turn it just past halfway for it to turn on and it is very sensitive to slight movements.
Mine does have the slight boost whistle, similar to the cloud.
