I'm just wondering if I could be in any more heaven with this versus my LSV.

Iwien I know that you like to use small loads and as such this thing may be right up your alley. I can't compare it to an LSV accurately as I have not used one. But I'm liking this thing a lot. Even though I'm in that super enthusiastic new vape testing mode I am still using less herb than usual. Last night I had 5 bowls and I just didn't need anymore. I just knew anymore was going to give me a 'stoneover'. I probably used .4 in total. Now I know that is a lot for you but I usually go through a gram a day pretty easily. Once the new toy period is over I definitely think the Infinity could be used conservatively. Of course I would recommend pairing it with something a little lighter such as a Solo for daily usage. Just so far with my testing I would suggest .05 at around 75-85w might be nice for you. I seem to recall you using .025 with some of your vapes? I guess it would work with this as well but I'm just not really testing it in that direction personally.

A lot of people are going to be blown away by this vaporizer.

Yeah, I used that amount in my PD, but with the LSV, I load about 2 to 3 times that amount, but I don't go through 2 to 3 times the amount of bud. My usage with the LSV has increased, I'd say around 30%.

I'm just trying to get a handle on where the Versa fits in within the vaporizer market. It will be more expensive than the LSV but less expensive than the EVO. Does the performance parameters fit within the same range?

Well the only desktop I have used is the Plenty. In that sense my experience is very limited. However, I have researched basically every desktop know to man extensively. Well extensively as possible without seeing, holding or using them if you know what I mean. The way I see it the EVO is the top dog or possibly the Herbaliser. For me these are too expensive atm due to their lack of reliability and proven performance. I am not in a position to ship units backwards and forwards due to legal reasons. Of course there are the Subliminators. Personally I can't have something like that around my home. Then there are the logs and the various existing models from S&B as well as various other mid-range models. Of course there are numerous European heavy hitters which don't get much of a run here.

I know that you drop in to the Plenty thread from time to time and that you are quite critical about that model. Trust me there are a lot of inaccuracies floating around regarding that vape. However, the thing produces awesome vapor. On demand, thick, flowing, tasty. Personally, I imagine the LSV produces similar vapor albeit somewhat more efficiently. Lately I have using .15 and get at least 10 big hits. That is about double what you put in your LSV? Comparing the vapor production of the Plenty to the Infinity I would certainly rate the Infinity higher thus far. The vapor is thicker, denser and tastier. I love the Plenty mind you but is the Infinity worth getting? Absolutely. It may not blow away your LSV but it would certainly provide you with a different option which I think you may well be pleased with.

As to where the Infinity is going to fit in that is a qood question which I have also asked. I think it going to be more expensive than we currently anticipate. Put it this way if it retailed for $350 it would be way cheaper than a Herbaliser, cheaper than an EVO (without attachment) but more expensive than most logs or other popular desktops like an LSV or Arizer EQ.

I think Mr Gweilo is making good educated guesses about Versa's potential fit into the marketplace. Anyways....testing continues...

I just tried to use my Pinnacle Water Tool with my Infinity and documented the journey. I'll be honest, I did not like it and will explain why below. First, here's a pic of the water tool next to the inverted flower bowl, loaded with herb and the dome cap inserted. Versa set to 85v.

pnwt1.jpg

Now here's a pic of the water tool mounted to the versa, but I had to use another adapter to fit the 14mm water tool joint onto the versa bowl:

pnwt2.jpg

It hit extremely smooth, I couldn't feel the vapor at all, but when I exhaled, sure enough, plenty of vapor. The Pinnacle water tool is micro sized, but does a great job cooling hits.

Now here are the reasons I didn't really like this method:

-- I did not like filling the bowl from the bottom and capping it off, the bowl opening was much narrower (I can see why some resort to a suction method) and trickier to fill.
--The bowl gets extremely hot this way sitting on top of the heater, but you have to remove it to do any maintenance like stirring or reloading. I had to use the tongs and even then, had to use pliers to remove the firmly lodged and also hot dome screen. @Zangano Cruel mentioned this heat issue and Cloud ELBs remaining cool when reloading for vertical tubes, I can now see what he means, although the heat is not an issue for me using the other method, the capped bowl being the big difference to me.

This was all just way too much work for the reward compared to the simplicity of putting the Infinity inverted on my Recycler. Loading and unloading the bowl also much much easier with no cap and wider mouth opening to dump and refill.

I've never used a Cloud +/Evo or other vertical tube system to compare to but have used this micro WT with my Pinnacle Pro which I bought it for.

I'm going to stick with the normal method from now on. If Versa makes Water Tubes like Vapexhale, I hope they can innovate the bowl and loading system in tune to address some of the issues I mention.

Okay so I have now acquired a hookah pipe. I was able to locate one during my lunch break. It looks pretty cool. I will test it out later this evening. Hmmmm ... how much to put in it? I'm starting to feel like a mad scientist lol. This is fun.

@grokit - I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'm going to start with flowers but I also picked up a few packets of shisha. Mostly it is just for stealth. I'm trying to make my vape lab look like something other. Anyway, I was going to ask about vaping the shisha but have no ideas about temps. Once I get overmedicated tonight I might see if I can get the shisha to vape well.

I recall Versa talking about adding flavors to our flowers at one point. Does anyone else recall? I certainly won't be doing that personally.

Are you able to post pictures? I'd love to see your new Hookah. I may try to get a Hookah adapter in the future after I hear everyone's experiences.

When I was in Paris years ago we went to a Hookah cafe and had reallly smooth apple flavored shisha.

I enjoyed using the hookah. In fact, I'll use it later today. On my way home from Tucson. I just hope flight delays don't make it too long of a day. Blah blah blah first world problems.

I played with the hookah and concentrates last night. The hookah bowl and drip through would make a serious mess so I added the flower bowl ontop to allow drip through to only be on glass. However this got the Versa with my hookah setup kinda tipsy turvey, think Leaning Tower of Pisa, and made feel a little uneasy for social use. I am so used to fast hard letting dabs that the slow methodical draw from a hookah didn't translate yet for me. Lots of room for testing because the idea of laying back and slowly toking on concentrate vapor is very enticing to me.

I did learn that a slick stack makes for a wonderful full time boost cap! I had hoped extra heat sitting up there would soften some harder concentrates but alas just not enough heat that high up.

Next. I am testing a TI nail sitting on an 18m to 14m adaptor covered with a 14f to to 18f adaptor so the nail bowl is just below the heater. The nail takes some time to warm up but letting the Versa sit on top does the job. I carefully take my dabber and load the nail and cover again with Versa and boost ( I use the slick stack) and hit like hell. It isn't the mad rush of vapor a torched nail would give (this can be a blessing) but I got 3 big hits off of 3x my normal dab size and very tasty, I feel like I get to enjoy more flavor since the hit is slower, then the tail end gets nasty. Letting the Versa continue to sit on top seems to be burning off the black residue well enough to go back for a second round a few minutes later.

More to come on the TI setup after some more dabs.

Ok, so in my review of the Infinity test unit, I was a little critical  of the included stir stick, that was a little picky I admit , but I think having good accessory tools is important for vaping, the grinder, the packing/poker thingies, there are many useful tools and some vapes require certain tools to help you use them.

I'm a little nerdish about usability/ergonomics and love seeing simple tools that make a job easier. I've come across many tools that I've found extremely useful, including the Tap-Dat-Ash silicone ashtray, a tamper that came with my useless Atmos Raw, and other stuff.

So back to the Infinity, I found the stir stick way too long, so I broke it to make it shorter, now it doesn't get in the way when I put it on the table or threaten to knock something over (I'm clumsy).

Below is a picture of the broken stir stick between two other tools I'll explain below. You can see the tip is black from stirring the bowl and the back end where I broke it is frayed as the stick is fibrous and reedy.

The tool on the left is a "pipe" tool from China I just got in the mail, on eBay it cost $1  shipping included (!) and comes with a faux-linoleum pouch (FULLY worth the investment). I'm going to use the spoon for filling my Versa bowl. Found the link to this on FC, I forget the thread, probably easy to find.

The thing on the right I found in the supermarket in a bag of 50 marked "candy apple sticks/corn skewer". They looked like perfectly sized replacements for the Infinity ones, they are a bit thicker so easier to wield as well. Should have cost .89, but I splurged since they looked so perfect and paid whopping $2.50 -- 2.5x times the cost of the cheap chinese pipe tool, which also has a stir stick I'll prob end up using.

Here's a pic of the three together, the bag of 50 "corn skewers" and what the full length stir stick looks like in comparison.

And if you're the type that insists size matters....

On a Möbius plane
Got my unit today. I anticipated the delivery and worked from home so that I could test it as soon as it arrived. I got everything out of the packaging and noticed that Chris had included a small whip which I had asked for, but no concentrate bowl or dome screens. Plus I have a red cap when I asked for white, but that is a minor issue.

I plugged everything in including the transformer which works perfectly...however, the control unit didn't seem to be working. I unplugged and plugged and noticed that there was a rattle inside. I picked up the Infinity and it was slightly warm, so that was a good sign that the control unit WAS working! I unscrewed the cover from the control unit and opened it up, and sure enough a wire had come out of a terminal on one of the PCBs inside. I pushed it back in and tightened the screw and voila! A working control unit :)

So I put the cover back on and cranked the dial to 65v. I prepared a Lotus scoops worth (about 0.05g) and put it in the bowl. Put the Infinity on top and proceeded to take a hit through my Jhanpixel howerhead. Wispy vapour but tasty...cranked the dial to 75v and finished the bowl off to a medium brown colour roast.

Next I loaded the same Lotus scoop amount and cranked the dial to 85v, same bubbler, and this time nice milk, could be thicker and not able to extract everything in one hit. Take a second hit of similar size to finish off the bowl.

For comparison, my Cloud+ on 12pm with the same load and same bubbler gets extracted in one to two hits, the first is nice and milky and the second is more of a blueish vapour.

I then tried a dab on the end of an ELB put in the male end of the bowl and cranked it to max which is 116v for me. Again nice milk and the taste was good, need to experiment more with concentrates and would like to get the proper bowl if possible. But so far I reckon it has serious potential. I like the smack in the face feeling of a TI nail dab so I will be trying to replicate that somehow over the next few days!

After, I went and got some food and chilled out a bit...I was pretty mashed up by this point. I then started to rummage through some adaptors that I have and found a 18F14M from PlanetVape which I then put the EQ dome screen in the female end as a kind of basket. I loaded the same amount of flowers (0.05g) and put the dial back to 85v to test what the extraction would be like as now the load is closer to the heater. Pretty good results, more even extraction and able to mostly cache the load in one hit. I am not sure which bowl I prefer best at the moment, but needless to say I am having fun testing :D

I have almost burnt myself a couple of times on the bowls and top of the unit, but to be honest I am much better now than I was 6 hours ago when I got it. It is becoming second nature to hold the unit from the bottom and not pick up the bowls too soon or in the wrong place.

I tried the whip that Chris included and it is a double screen version where you sandwich the herb between the screens, I found this not to work very well. But then using an EQ dome screen and the flower bowl inverted, I had good success with this whip and also the Simba frit, Pinnacle and f-Bomb hydratubes I have also work well like this. I feel I need to crank the voltage a bit when using the 'right' way up though.

I have been pulsing the boost on and off and using it to finish loads. I did combust once, but haven't since, you can really milk up pieces using the boost, but it diminishes the taste quite a bit IMO. Boost works well for concentrates as far as I have experienced.

More testing needed, much more :D

Will report back with more findings soon...

I have a pipe tool. Got it for my Pax to load and pack the oven. I had to shave the sides down but it works great! I use it to load all my vapes except the stem style. I hit my hookah at 74v with almost a screens with of product. Two big hits, tasty, light brown ABV. I was medicated for 4 hours. Almost time for round two.

The more I use it the more I like it, it is very functional and a great Versa tool. The spoon has what I call a "Goose Beak", very narrow front end that helps keep you from spilling when you pour into a narrow bowl, the tip fits inside more easily (you filed yours down even more?). The poker also looks very useful, I'm not sure how, but somehow it 'locks' into position at 45 degrees which is very helpful, the spoon locks in at full extension, also very helpful for the hinge to not be loose in those positions. Haven't found a use for the tamper yet, too wide for my PnP bullets, but it looks handy for something. And for a dollar shipped, quite a bargain. Mr Gweilo could probably get one for :2c: down at the Night Market.

By the looks of @GSH 's video, the spoon is probably the same capacity as his Lotus scoop.

Sorry for the ridiculously large picture guys. This is actually the first image I have uploaded on FC. Anyway @Mr. G - that is the hookah pipe. Unfortunately my first attempt to use it was an abject failure. I have not used one before and I had something wrong. To be honest I didn't have much time so I didn't persevere with it. Will get it working tonight.

@tiukauleh - sorry I'm not sure about the step-up converter. Versa were kind enough to send me one so that is what I am using. It looks like a pretty standard model.

After the hookah fail I went back to the bubbler. I had prepared .3 of some lovely new flowers I picked up yesterday. Two large bowls at .15. Incredible flavor again at 108-109w. To be honest they were both huge and pretty much destroyed me. Once again yesterday, despite my eagerness I was only able to get through .5 before I knew I should stop.

Also I did manage to hit boost with a pulsing action and it milked up my piece without combusting. To be honest though the taste was not so good.

Finally, glad to see GSH has received his unit :)

Thanks mate. Will take care of that as soon as I get home. Doh doh doh! This has been a pretty steep learning curve for me. A week and a half ago I had never vaped through water and now I have 3 water tools :) I think I'm a visual learner so not being able to go to a LHS and touch, see and ask questions makes it harder. Luckily for me I have FC. :)

Hmm.......it could get a bit crowed on the outside of the Versa with a red line indicating where it's safe to hold along with the letters, HOLD HERE !!, or on the top of the line, HOT. DO NOT TOUCH.!! and now on the main body of the vape, above the read line, a nice arrow pointing up with the letters underneath the arrow, "THIS WAY UP !!!" ;)
