Had the Mighty for years and loved it, just upgraded to this. I did a full iso wash of the cooling unit and then turned it on to max temperature to make sure there was no residue. Got hit with a strong smell of plastic that got much worse when i tried taking a couple non-inhaling draws through it.

I also have an extremely expensive and high-quality Dyson air purifier in my room. It immediately started going crazy, showing values of PM 2.5 and PM10 that I've literally never seen before, and I just lived through the LA wildfires a couple miles away, so I've seen some really bad air quality.

If I smell my cooling unit, I can still smell the strong smell of plastic. The heating unit has a similar smell but much, much more restrained.

Does this happen to everyone, and I'm just being overly sensitive to the plastic smell? it doesn't have that slight "new" plastic smell to it, it smells strongly of burning plastic. I've never been this skeptical of a new vape's effect on my health before, and I did things like buy the first generation firewood 12 years ago.

EDIT: Well, I think I found the source of it. If I remove the mouthpiece, you can see that one side of the little circle (used to pop out the sealing cap) is shinier and looks a bit warped compared to the rest of it. it looks exactly like what would happen if you exposed a bit of the plastic to extreme heat and it melted. This is so unbelievably disappointing, the entire reason I was willing to spend $500 on a vape was because I trusted this company. Don't even want to think about what chemicals I inhaled while testing it, jesus christ.
I have never ever smelled burnt plastic out of a S&B vape. I also stopped iso washing their vapes mouthpieces first thing cause I heard they do it beforehand and there’s hardly any smell on their stuff imho, ever. Months ago I bought an Xmax v3 nano and that smelled of burnt plastic.
You can attach pics to your posts but you have to host them somewhere else like imgur.com or imdbb.

Pretty sure I saw your post on Reddit. That’s how the mouthpiece is supposed to look. It also makes 0 sense that the mouth piece melted - which is the furthest point from the oven and nothing else did. That means your hot vapor had to travel through the CU and somehow melt nothing but your mouthpiece. This doesn’t make sense and this seems very fake to me.

Third day of e04.
E04 is more frequent than before. On the first sessions of the day it may happen a few times in a row but I always found a way to get medicated until now. I starded the Rma process and I will see if they now charge the user for the return here in Europe ((assuming @Dr. G resides in the USA), it would be the first time they do it, and I returned every vape they made at least once except the Volcano).

I confirm this 100%.
I dropped it at least once in the last year and since then the two halves of my Venty’s body were not as tightly connected and aligned as before. I also dropped it 3/4 days ago and that’s when it started displaying the error.
If I get the new version with the upgraded buttons I might get the e04 “Melty” sweatshirt to celebrate.
After 7 days since shipping it, my RMA Venty has been received, inspected and the new one is being shipped out today.
As always, no shipping fees requested inside EU.

Highdea I had while using my old gen Crafty and Mighty while waiting for my new Venty unit: if I was Jurgen Bickel I would start selling upgraded Venty style cooling units for Crafty and Mighty plus, with the metal filter instead of the long snake style vapor path.

Just got my Venty today. I had to go online and get the supercharger bc the thing is taking forever to charge. I'm ready to give it a rip once it gets some more juice.

I’m thankfully having good luck with my first Venty, although I’ve only used the S&B charger and honestly haven’t used it much. I had ankle surgery recently so I’m laying around using plug-ins more than portables these days. But I did have the chance to take it out the other day and ran a few bowls through it while waiting on my wife. The Venty got me so medicated and still had plenty of battery left, I’ve been very happy with the performance and hope it keeps working!

Someone just a couple of posts earlier found that the issue with E04/faulty Ventys is caused by dropping units hard on the ground. My experience matches this, at least for my latest RMA (4th Venty). So: don’t drop it!
S&B now seem to have updated the way the units get built and newer units should be less prone to errors.
Get well soon.

They glued the molex connector to the display module. Finally! I've been writing about this in redlit posts for a year, that the problem is in the broken connector.

Did you by any chance also check which error code the venty displayed when pressing the +Button, while it's showing "e04"?

I posted my sub code number for e04 when it happened to me the first time (link below) but the second time (different unit and different (upgraded) firmware, 2 weeks ago) it didn’t show any sub code if I pressed the + button.
The first time it was 083 https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/venty-by-storz-bickel.54534/post-1771872
If anything, the Venty is made in Germany, I refuse to think the sub code is just a random number :D

I agree it drives me nuts that the cooling unit doesn't align perfectly when putting it on, requires another twist to get it to align... guess I'm not alone!
I also don't like that the cooling unit isn't aligned with the body... lol
What I did was: with a craft knife I cut the cooling unit's stops a little... 2mm on each side was enough!:D

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a video where I repair a Venty , and I’m looking for a broken one to feature in it.
If you have a non-working Venty (E04, dead, with broken connector), I'll fix it for free and ship it back to you once it's repaired (~1 month).

I’m located in Poland, so keep that in mind for shipping.
If, for some reason, I’m unable to fix it, I’ll cover the return shipping cost myself.

Important: This repair will void any existing warranty on the device.
Please only send it if you’re okay with that!

This is a passion project, and I’d love to document the process to help others who might be dealing with similar issues. Let me know if you have one you'd like to contribute!

Thanks! 🚀
