dam I think the vapor genie is one of the greatest inventions ever it really is pretty genius how now I can vaporize my herbs anywhere and not get caught up with smells that stick to my clothes or even really get in the air it is a dream come true for real I woulda definitly got this like 3 years ago when I first started smoking weed. I was around 15 years old and I had to wait til late at night just to sneak and smoke. Now I'm vaping my own weed on my own time in my room without my parents knowing. I would've never thought I'd be doing this and getting away with it now, its unbelievable and now I toke on my own time! Even when I get out of the my parents house I'm still gonna vape its actually a more discreet way to get high in situations where you don't want people to know you smoke its got its perks.

Hello, I am debating on getting the aluminum bat. I remember reading that the screen is adjustable so that you can load as small an amount as you like. However, I need to know whether I can use the Ital Hemp with it. Does that screen adjustment help at all with using the hemp line?
I want the best flavor I can get and the butane is something I want to avoid.

For those who would say, "just get the original VG". I don't like the bulkiness or shape of it and it screams, 'hey I'm a pipe.' Not that the bat is a ton better, but the price and ability to clean it (and the filter I assume) all sound really good. I would look harder at the stainless steel but it's over 50% more than the bat. I'd get a magic flight first.
I don't believe the butane effects your health enough to be concerned about, but the taste really matters to me. It's either the bat which is economical or the MF which is an investment for my limited budget.

Thanks for any help. :peace:

I dont think that hemp line will produce a sufficient sized flame to be use with the bat. I have found that the flame from a typical lighter seem to be ideal size. You might be able to vape with the wick and the bat, but this particular set up seems to work better with the typical bic sized flame. I know I didn't like using my bat when the flame size started to decrease.
If i was going to use hemp wick with a VG i would go with one of the original pipe setups. Keep in mind there is also an aluminum pipe VG, which would work better with the wick instead of the bat.

The bat works ok with the hempwick but if you're seeking "clouds" , you need a 1 inch flame.

The hemp wick is really good what I did was light the wick then turn the wick to where the flame from the tip touched more of the wick allowing me to get a bigger flame. The big flame you can get from the wick is really what gives it an advantage but idk if u can buy a bunch of em then your set just don't run out but ya i think theyre a must and bic too.

I used to try to put small amounts in the bowl but I find it works way better and lasts longer if u load it all the way. I didn't know u can adjust the screen to make a smaller bowl but I guess if u want do that I think its better to load a full bowl so u don't have to keep loading small bowls. I got the bat for most of the reasons as u just a couple weeks ago and imo opinion officially vaporizes ur weed or whatever u put in it and the lifetime warranty is definitly a bonus.

How does the Aluminum Bat compare to the Classic Vapor Genie? I've used the Vapor Genie several times, but I've never tried the Bat. However, I've never really been a fan of metal pipes.

Ive never used the classic but I have had my bat for only about 2 weeks now and I get a nice even brown when I vape it n ive gotten the hang of it it was really easy. its part technique but don't get to caught up in the technique its pretty self explanatory u have to feel the air in the pipe n just heat it for about 6 seconds til u feel the air get pretty hot. My technique is to suck medium slow basically what ur trying to do is get a good sized flame n suck it into the hole til id say probably half of the yellow orange part of the flame is in it and keep it steady if u suck too slow the air passes through the herb to slow I think but keep it medium slow n feel for the hotness sometimes its good to let it on a little bit more than u think probably plus I don't think I ever burned my herbs in this thing yet. Pack full bowls 2 a bowl lasted me like 3 to 4 sessions n u need a grinder

Was checking out the 'Metal' section on the VG website and ran across this. Looks pretty cool, aparrently, it doesn't get anywhere near as hot as the OG VG bat.

'Stainless Coil VG'

coil-all-1600x500.JPG

coil-open.JPG

This innovative bat-style pipe is made of stainless steel wire coils, precisely manufactured so that they attach by twisting/screwing. The coil pipe comprises 5 coils-two in the bottom (bowl) half, and three in the filter (top) portion. The two halves of the pipe fit together by screwing.

The stainless steel coil pipe has some interesting features:
1) The coil pipe has 100% stainless steel construction. There is no wood, aluminum, adhesive or any other material in this pipe (other than the ceramic filter, of course). Therefore, both top and bottom can be cleaned with solvents.
2) The coil pipe can be completely disassembled by hand, by unscrewing the steel coils. This means the pipe can be thoroughly cleaned, inside and out. The ceramic filter can be removed, and hit with a torch to completely burn off soot if necessary. The glass VG and this coil pipe are the only two pipes that have removable ceramic filters.
3) The coil pipe is thermally insulated, due to an air gap between the inner and outer coils. Therefore, the outser surface does not become hot. The coil pipe stays much cooler than the aluminum Bat VG.
4) The coil pipe uses flame heat very efficiently, since it is so well insulated. This makes it good to use in cold weather. It also means a slightly smaller flame can be used. The coil pipe tends to run hotter than our other pipes, since little heat is lost to the outer surfaces.

The coil pipe has some limitations that buyers should be aware of:
1) The flame intake hole is on the endface, not the side like in the aluminum bat. This makes it a little harder to locate the flame properly. We dont think this is a big issue, however, since the shape of the coil pipe provides some visibility.
2) The coil pipe is flexible and can be damaged by creating a permanent bend in the coils. However, the wire size is pretty large (0.050") so this will not happen with normal use, or from putting the pipe in your pocket or something. Even stepping on the pipe does not cause deformation of the coils, so we consider this to be a theoretical concern.
3) The coil pipe is flexible. Bending it causes gaps to open between the coils. Therefore, bowl contents can spill from these gaps when the pipe is bent.

has anyone ever tried putting the top part onto a waterpipe? will it fit in either a 14 or 18mm opening?

Yes. This is my main setup right now. It fits PERFECT (no, I mean fucking, perfect) for an 18mm.

I love this setup. I use it daily. It works wonders. :brow:

(I apologies for the quality, its my blackberry.)

momatik, the website says it's attached by 'twisting and screwing.'

Anyone know if the bowl of the unit is much WIDER than a normal vg vowl? The site says it's still .4 deep.. pics still look like a larger bowl--

From my understanding, all the VG products (with exception of glass vg) have the same width in their bowl. They all use the same spring retaining clip and screen, which would mean they all are the same width. And as with the other VGs you can move the spring clip up or down inside the bowl if you want to make the bowl shallower or deeper.

How did you go about attaching it?

I was bored of my normal VG (classic), so I broke all the wood off and was left with the steel bowl, and VG top. I simply dropped the bowl into a 18mm adapter and it fits like it belongs in there.

I was told that the bat has a slightly larger(or was it deeper) bowl, but that could be wrong.

I sure don't like that inadvertant separating of the coils when carried in ones pocket will cause it to leak herb. I will wait for the ss bat.

So the metal piece fits snug? Like you can put it in and screw the top on and off without having to worry about the bowl itself rotating?

thank you for this, I never thought of moving the spring to vary the bowl size, so I always have to load full bowls even while at the moment one bowl last me at least a day(when I just load less it doesn't vape as well as a full bowl)
just tried this, took 1 hit and it works great

Yep if you push the steel bowl into an 18mm it will fit very snug, I can tip my adapter upside down and it doesnt fall out.

I will admit as a bat user I kind of want to try the coil model, specially at the price it's going for. Plus, the dimensions list on their site show it to be a bit smaller than the bat.

Am I just misreading this, or do these 2 contradict each other?

no, it says the OUTER surface stays cooler, inside it's warmer, just like when you insulate a house(it's warmer inside in winter, but if you would take a heatmeasurething that measures infrared, a well insulated house would looke way cooler from the inside, since the warmth is kept inside)
