Thanks for the video that made offer me for its incredible design.

The half part with the stone allows to adjust the heigh of the stone so was my question , what setting for you?

The closer from the bowl or far away or in between?

Right! I think the smaller the bowl the better. Just now i screwed the inner part of the bowl part closer to the stone and I think I'll soon narrow the stone half too.

Awesome coil just arrived in mail. First thoughts, bigger than I imagined but fits nicely in my 14f-18f and reducer. I put it on my sol bub and took my torch out and combusted :o yuck! lesson learned cleaned out unit and packed another with some great vapor rips! Oh boy what a find this is guys! If you like glass get ya one of these for around 35 bucks you cant beat it! Sorry ssv your getting the night off tonight and I'm breaking out all my lighters and finding the best match...

After a few more bowls and no more combustion with a yellow flame butane lighter, I have got this puppy down and am actually getting more consistent bell ringers 3 already out of 5 bowls! I'm convinced, going to sell off my ssv really soon. Taste is incredible and the ability to control is quick and precise but much easier to obtain what I want and for much cheaper, holy shit!!! Maybe its the honeymoon phase and all but I'm more than smitten and to tell you the truth didn't expect it one bit. This suits me way better than the VG classics, glass or bats....

Some friends just came over, realized it is better to take turns per bowl instead of per hit. That way you always got a real good one in your 4 to 5 good rips it seemed. I'm stoked about this little contraption! Did someone rip apart a mattress spring and start toking one day??? Dunno but great invention for sure, once you learn to avoid the combustion!!!

Just packed a bowl with straight sour diesel kief and I had to pick my jaw off the floor! Not to mention grab hold of the closest thing so I didn't fall over!@! Pretty sure I'm selling the ssv for more glass and another coil or maybe a Gnome:shrug: ... This is a game changer though IMHO, I am completely shocked, b/c I didn't think I would enjoy this piece this much!!!:tup::rockon::love::science:

Last time I used my coil was so disapointing. I wasn't to keen on it in the first place. I didn't have any glass, and using it without seemed a PITA compared to my handcarved VG. So I bought the infamous to give it a try with glass.

Instant combustion was my result. I was so disgusted from the taste that I trew it in my vapebox and haven't pulled it out since.

I need to give it a good cleaning and try again. Maybe with a yellow flame this time.

Anyway, I still haven't given up completly on it. But I must say I came close.

Good to hear some people have success with it. I will give it another try in the near future.

I wouldn't sell any SSV (or miniVAP in my case) over my coil, but if I'll have to recommend a good vape to start fucking combustion, this would be my first choice for now on. You can get fat rips and with the same money you'd buy a MFLB you'd get 3 coils. In the future I want to try the wood VG also. Is it so different from the coil?

Once you understand the VG technique, it is easy to switch around to the different styles. Each will be slightly different from the others, mainly due to different materials. Metal and glass VGs retain the heat differently than the wood lined with metal does. It shouldn't take long to find the sweet spot. I would recommend the hand carved wood, unless you have limited access to what you can get. If you are loving the coil, then you should do well with the other styles. I don't have any experience with the bats yet, so I can not say how they perform, but I have 2 of the hand carved, and one of the aluminum body, and have built 2 glass versions out of healthstone pipes... as well as the glass gong attachment I concocted out of adapters. I am in love with flame vaping now. I missed the lighter bowl/ritual from my smoking daze. I find the torch to be great with the coil just light the top outside and top inside and rotate the adapter, fill up glass with beautiful vapor and hold on for a great rip! Gonna sell the ssv to a friend who doesn't have a vape yet. Hmmn, I better buy a couple more of these coils, just in case...

hey jam...question for you. What's the best mod to use the glass vg top with the Ion? I don't want to get into the healthstone stuff. should I just get a male to female adapter and stick a screen in it? I've got to get this going, and the glassblower thing isn't coming along right now.

oh, yeah, if you can find one... :D I just use a reducer along with mine... only thing I can think of is to make sure it's shaped similar to the one I posted a link to, you need a good size space for the herb to sit, and still have a little room between the load and the VG top.

thanks for the tips! I want to keep it 18mm since it is going to double as a spacer for the Cloud (looking for that good airtight seal).

I'm thinking of getting a VG, but I need advice on which model to get :p

Let's see, I started vaping with a MFLB, but after getting my SSV and UD, the lack of visible vapor compared to those, plus the fact that it made me cough for nothing lead me to sell it.

Anyway, I was thinking of the Coil because of the design/size, however, how does it stand in comparison to the other models? Are there any advantages/disadvantages? and finally, how is the vapor quality/temperature?

If you have other glass such as bongs or bubblers, I recommend a coil, if not check out the classics or a bronze or glass VG...

For me,
the VG disadvantage is the high minimum load requirement.

You really want to cover the screen entirely with herbal material. Otherwise, the air takes the path of least resistance and doesn't penetrate the green very effectively.
You could always split one bigger bowl into multiple sessions, but I like fresh green every time.

In the end, this is only a major issue if the vaporgenie would be your only vaporizer. If you have others to complement its weaknesses then it's a great little tool :)

if you are not using a bubbler, and like the wood style, I would suggest the hand carved VG. Any of the wood pipes should be a good choice really, I also have the aluminum classic (old style) it's easy to clean but the body does heat up faster. Glass is always going to taste the purest, but it's fragile to some extent. I know it's a hard choice because I have several myself. If you want to vapor-bong it, the coil rocks for that application. I still think the coil is lacking some kind of mouth-piece that you can add on (like an Ed's solo stem size piece maybe) to complete it for dry use. I never did follow through with the wood turning due to lathe issues and lack of good work space. Must be meant for a later time in my life, as I still want to learn that skill.

**BTW**

I just wanted to post this, I recently got a second healthstone pipe and the glass VG top does not fit into it. So anyone attempting to do my HS/VG mod, please be aware, the HS is hand made, so each will be slightly different. I can say that the low profile reducer I got from ebay does fit the second HS pipe ( fits both actually ) So I am pleased with that because I got 2 of these reducers for $10 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/320925933791?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I just don't want someone to get the parts together and get mad at me if they don't fit well. So far the ebay reducer is a little longer than I'd like by maybe 1/4" or so, but it works on both style pipes, and that is a great price. Both of the ones I got look identical, so I am assuming they are mass produced this way.

I'm going to grab a coil for a end of the world backup vape, lol. Anyhow, I've been trying to convert my old man to vaping , he's a 40+ year smoker. I'm thinking this would be a way to convert him and knock out a father's day present??He's tried all the vapes ive had and is always like "Meh, not a big enough hit" He did like my cloud the one time he tried it but it's probably still not really his thing either. Any thoughts anyone?

The bowl can be reduced moving the screen but can be very large, so I think it can knock down your father as well!

I'm not sure but I believe that person is a Buddhist so in touch with the divine they toke up constantly and cannabis is given to them freely for such rituals. Not so far off as a Rastafarian in that aspect, I believe. I like documentaries and took a world religion course while in college, no search done. Ohh no it is illegal to post without searching. Also illegal to talk about illegal acts, hmmn I better start typing about vaporizers. I might get in trouble now, lol! Vaporizers rule!
