So where is everybody getting their replacement screens for the vV2 wand, and what size will fit?
It cost's like $18.00 shipping for a $4.50 pack of 6 screens directly from Vaporfection.
The last pack that I got from them, only 2 of the 6 actually fit, and it was a real PITA to get the
screens into the herbal container.
I tried one of my Arizer Solo screens also but it did not fit very well.

By "actually fit" did you mean they were too big to get in or too small? Because my spare wand the screens are all really loose and can come out by simply blowing through the hose.

My advice would be to just iso the screens that fit when they get dirty/clogged, if you still have them. Soak in Iso for 10 minutes and rinse under warm water and they should come out good as new. You can also just clean the wand with the screen in it as well, however there will be some debris caught around the edge of the screen thats impossible to remove.

As far as buying screens, I would try SSV? You can also buy a new wand from them, if you send them an email they can even make one a similar size to your vivape wand for the same price itll just take a little longer

Good call, Mynameismud! And I believe our beloved Vito prefers the SSV wand over the Vaporfection wand as well, with rave reviews.

I mean that the screens are too large.
I do not have the original screen that was an exact fit.
I trimmed down a screen yesterday and now I can at least get it to lay flat in the chamber,
but like you, if I blow in the wand the screen will fall out.
I will take a look at the SSV wand and maybe order one to try it out....

I took an original screen to my local head shop, and I found the right fit. I have a shitload of screens and am happy to send you a couple if you want to PM me.

Thanks for the offer Vapinghole! I actually ordered the SSV wand to give it a try...
I had heard before that this was supposed to be a good whip with the vV2.
I will keep yours screens in mind though!

What's in the box? :science:

Nothing makes me happier while reading this board than seeing pictures of the inside of vaporizers, it is like Nerd Porno.

I can not fathom how is the ViVape would taste any better than other vaporizer considering the air path starts by collecting air through a plastic computer blower/fan, through a hot metal shell, passing on to the exposed wiring, all before reaching the glass parts in this supposed "glass on glass" vaporizer.

I can certainly imagine why it is not more popular. I do now see how the ViVape reacts to temperature adjustments so quickly on the videos: If that little sensor in he heating element is the thermocouple, then it is right by the coils of the heater itself, far from an accurate spot for temperature readings.

I thought it was the dbv whip that worked? Just emailed Dan about a promo code with an immediate response. He also said they are looking at Sep. For a release on the
mivape but will have some kind of press release on it for final details. Im looking at getting the vV for a home unit bc all i have is a NO2 and have been enjoying that. Ive had that for a few yrs I think and have been using it much more in the past few mo ths.

VaporBaked,
hello to all

I am very sad I think I have serious problems with my VV2 I don't think that it maintains a constant temperature even when I'm over 400 ° at times it becomes too cold to vaporize even for a couple of minutes, after a while you hear a "clik" and you can see the orange light of the heating element is turned back on and the temperature comes up again, also when I turn it off, once the fan turns off after a while the same turns on again as second off. Is this normal? I sent an email to vaporfection four days ago, and they haven't yet responded.
I am very worried that I've wasted my money because I live in europe, my warranty will expire on september 2013 and I did the shit to order it directly from vaporfection.com ...
what do you think I should to do? Thank you very who wants to helpme

EXCUSEME I'M SO SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!

dan@vaporfection.com. I would say email him and he will be able to help you with . Is it a first gen? Its probably more of a pain in the ass over seas but from what i have seen they should be able to take care of you esp. since you have the warranty.

The air barely makes contact with the metal since the metal covers the outer glass tube. Also the air that does contact the fan and/or metal is cold air and makes contact before it is heated so It shouldnt alter taste in any way. Pretty much every convection vaporizer has air making contact with the outside of the unit or other pieces of metal and plastic. The glass heating element in the vivape is what makes the taste so pure and superior over other brands such as 7th floor, arizer and other brands using metal or ceramic heating elements.

There are some good alternatives now and upcoming using glass or halogen heating elements, but I dont know if they can beat the customer service that vaporfection has given me. Every time ive had an issue ive had super fast responses and service. Id hate to have dropped even more money and be someone with a broken cloud right now(i know its not their fault, but still)

I thought it was the dbv whip that worked? .

Theyre basically the same. The dbv wand is slightly slimmer and shorter i believe and has no color, but the ground glass joints are the same. If you contact them before you order they can make the wands any length you want though so it doesnt really matter which wand yu get

Greetings, FC! I'd like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Ian and I've been a pretty hardcore vape enthusiast since about 06. The reason why I'm in this specific forum is because I have a very long history with vaporfection.

But first, I'd like to give a little history about myself, the first vape I every tried was a volcano and I was immediately sold and was convinced that THAT would be my first vaporizer. Once I saved enough money, I went to my local headshop (in Boca Raton, as you all well know, is where Vaporfection is located out of), and asked the clerk for a Volcano. He then showed me the vaporfection stealth II and told me this would be better, since they were being sold for the same price, and the clerk was saying how he switched over from Volcano personally. And for someone to tell me that they switched from Volcano to Vaporfection, I thought "Damn, that must be some vaporizer to have that sort of capability."
So I purchased it.

After some experimentation, I finally got into my vape and the vape life in general, but then the light inside the heating chamber went out. Figures. So I called the head shop and told them what was up and he gave me the number to Amir (the old owner). I talked to amir and he invited me to his house and thats where I also met his nephew, Lenny. Amir came off as a dick, but Lenny was very sincere and seemed to know a lot more of the inner workings and how the device worked best. So I got Lenny's information after this experience and stayed in contact with him. I'm in fact still in contact with him to this day, and he ships me whips/mouthpieces/tubing/etc... whenever I call him.

Through keeping contact with Lenny, I found out that he (Lenny) was the originally inventor of Vaporfection, and his uncle, Amir, helped finance the distribution/advertising/etc..., but over time (around 2008) Amir kept trying to screw Lenny over. For example, Lenny had a patent pending on an electronic hookah vape (think extreme q with a 4 hose adapter, but this was 5 years ago), and Amir tried to sell the patent to a larger company, behind his back. Then Amir tried to take full owner ship and rights to Vaporfection, which he ended up doing, but thought he could just duplicate the inner workings of the prototype they were working on (I believe what was once know as the stealth novus (stealth III)) which ended up failing miserably.

I last talked to Lenny about a year ago over that situation, and he told me that Amir sold the company and now he has no involvement anymore either. One thing I can say about the comapny's history is that it is most definitely INCONSISTENT. I, personally, still use my stealth II and consider it a phenomenal unit. I recently tried using it with the SSV GG wand and was completely astounded, but the increase in quality. My belief is that it's because the glass is blown thicker and provides a tighter pinch around the silicone hose, when inserted. I am purchasing a SSV GG Fatty as soon as I get my next paycheck.

Some other fun facts in case you guys are interested: I use my unit at 350 and after a couple puffs, I stir, puff, then increase the temp to 360, and finish the rest of my material. This is how I found to achieve the best results personally. I also noticed that when I use my unit with a water pipe, I use a wand that has a more coarse screen, so there's more airflow, and less restriction on the inhale.

I have practically read this forum from the very beginning so I feel like I have kind of absorbed 2 years of material over the course of the past couple of days. I feel like an idiot that I didn't know about this site sooner. I look forward to sharing pics and comments and I continue to stay in contact with Lenny. I plan on driving down and seeing him in September and have my unit serviced, even though there's nothing particularly wrong with it, I just like seeing whatever it is he's currently working on. He is actually producing a unit called the VapeDrive right now I believe. Basically he gutted the shell of an external usb HD and put the components of a vV2 in there, as far as the heating element and glass structure. I remember him even telling me, "now this is stealth." But he no longer can use the vaporfection name on any of his products, even though he's the original inventor.

Sorry for such a long post, but I just wanted to get as much out there about myself in relation to this vaporfection forum. I'll post pics of my current setup soon.

Cheers!

So my gf and I got into a fight and she decided to hit me where it hurts most: by destroying my vape. The Stealth 2 that I had since 09 was gone and I was devastated, so I went on ebay and ordered a vV1 for a absurd price of $112 from someone who had to get rid of it due to moving back in with his parents. I had been very eager to try the vivape, and I didn't think I would ever get a deal this legit, so I made the purchase.

Once it arrived, I was excited and couldn't wait to break it in. During my first session, I realized that the taste this vaporizer gives off is atrocious. I remember buying my first stealth 2 back in 07 and it had the same shitty taste. Fortunately, the light in it broke, and I was able to take it directly to the owner of vaporfection (I lived in South Florida at the time) and he showed me how they improved their heating element by switching the material used in the glass heating chamber. I think he said they switched from tungsten to carbon fiber or something like that (this was 5 years ago at least). He switched out my heating element free of charge even though that wasn't even the reason why I brought the unit to be serviced. I noticed a much cleaner taste and way more efficient vaporization; I like to vape my material to a very, very dark brown, and like the fact that the element is strong enough to combust my material, even though those aren't my intentions, I just like vaping stepping my material to its peak.

Ok, so now back to that initial vivape session: after I realized that the element they use in this one is the same cheap one they used 5 years ago, I tried to see if I could at least vape step properly--nope. I started my session at 350, took a couple rips, then pushed it to 375--very little difference, considered how my stealth 2 would almost burn my material if i pushed it from 350 to 365. So I then went from 375, all the way to 446 (max) and very little difference there too. My material came out a light brown, which some people may like to have as their AVB, but not me.

Their "state of the art" temperature reader is a gimmick and I don't even want to test and see the actual temp because I know I will be even more disappointed in this company than I have already been. Fortunately I found a friend with a stealth 2 who is willing to make a trade (he is not as much of an enthusiast as I and he really likes fancy things). I really doubt that reader controls the temp, they probably have a set temperature that the lcd and control and that's it. Also, the fact it can jump from 350 to 446 in literally an instant is bullshit. Whenever I increased the temperature in the my stealth 2, the light would shut off and turn back on when the element reached my desired temperature.

I'm ordering a gg fatty ssv wand just to see if it's the herbal chamber/screen that's making it taste like shit. But in conclusion, I finally get why so many people bash this company. I have been a long time supporter of them and never got why SO many people had bad experiences with their unit. Now I understand. I got in contact with Dan and he told me I can ship it to him and he will look at it, but I can almost guarantee that all he will tell me is that nothing is broken with the unit and that's just the way the unit is built. Truly a shame since I had high hopes for this product. I'm still hoping that Dan will hook it up and maybe put a better element in there, or at the very least, give me a stealth 2 or something like that because I have no desire to even use a vape if this is the experience I am expecting to have.

Fuck vaporfection...more like vape-poor-fection. I really wish Amir didn't fuck his nephew out of this company because Lenny knew what he was doing way more than anymore else working at that company. Hopefully I'll get a stealth 2 soon, otherwise I may just hold out and get the ascent.

I dont agree with your comments at all. If you look back at this thread the majority that own the vivape actually like it and have no problems with taste. Its one of the best vaporizers ive ever used as far as taste goes. If your at 446 and its still light brown then something is obviously wrong with yours. And I doubt a SSV wand will fix it. It wont hurt to send it in.

Also, the majority of the people that bash vaporfection arent bashing them for a bad product, they do so because of the whole shilling episode and the forever delayed mivape

I respect what you're saying, and trust me, I've been supporting vaporfection since 06--don't take my comments as some naive user that had one bad experience and forever disowns vaporfection. I actually got in contact with Dan and I sent my unit to him so hopefully my unit was just in need of a recalibration or something of that sort. And didn't you have to go through a whole exchange process with vaporfection at one point, mynameismud? I was just frustrated and got a little carried away with venting. I was just upset that my stealth 2 (a unit I've had since 07) gave me better results. For example, my end product after a stealth two session at 360 gave me a darker AVB than the vivape at 446, so something is definitely not right. I just have really high standards for this company and I thought the vivape was going to make my stealth 2 look like a kid's toy.

I still have hope and believe that Dan will straighten everything out. He was quick to respond when I emailed him and he's been in constant contact throughout the process so I have a feeling that everything will be fine and it must have just been something up with my unit. If my vivape comes back and works better, I will most definitely retract my previous statements of negativity and return to giving this company 110% of my support.

I still absolutely love my vV2. I had switched over to an Arizer Solo for a while and during that time I
contacted Dan and sent my vV2 in for repair/calibration.
Amazingly, since getting it back I have used it exclusively.
It is like a new machine and finally produces the type of vapor that I was expecting.
I still think it is one of the best home, wand units available.

Yup, actually have gone through the repair process three times with vaporfection. First time they exhchanged it and it took about a week from when i shipped it until i got the new one. 2nd and 3rd time i had the 24 hr replacement warranty which i couldnt be happier with and i sure have gotten my moneys worth out of. Im sure you will be taken care of.

And i usually stay around 340 and get light brown abv. if i go above 380 i get dark brown almost black ABV so im sure you had an issue.

Right, I remember you saying that! I will test out my laser IR thermometer when I get a chance,
just curious what it shows now. We came to the conclusion before that there was no easy way
to check the temperature accurately.
The main issue with the Solo is the length of time it takes to get medicated, compared to the vV2,
and of course the draw resistance.
I now need to test the vV2 through my ZOB bubbler. That was the original issue that led me to question the temperature of the vV2.
Blowing SERIOUS clouds now with the whip.
I am surprised that there isn't more activity with this thread...

Activity in the thread has probably come to a stand still since vaporfection is banned from the shilling incident. You should get awesome results from your zob, i mainly use mine through water nowadays. If you dont already have one, i would recommend getting a whip adapter. They can be found on glassblowersdirect, or i got mine from oregonglassblower. I prefer the downward angled one it really helps prevent kinks in the tubing

I actually lucked out yesterday and purchased a Mobius Ion Matrix from ALT for $280.00 on sale.
I have a 18mm male/14mm male 90 degree adapter now, but the 14mm side is very small with a rubber
o-ring on it. I forgot where I got it, but I don't really like it.
I plan to order a better adapter once I decide which one to purchase.
I will check out your links above.
I plan to test the ZOB with the vV2 tonight, see how it goes!

Ok so I got my unit yesturday (6 days after mailing it) and I must say WOW! Huge difference in performance and taste.

Apparently, some hair from the previous owner got sucked in by fan and got inside the unit, which is why it was giving me a bad taste. I'm sure that's also why the heat wasn't reaching my material as well. Needless to say I feel like an idiot for acting irrational and saying this company sucks.

Dan handled everything very well and was in contact with me throughout the entire process. He also told me the Mivape is still being worked on and they plan on releasing it some time before the end of the year, if everything goes accordingly. I definitely think that unit is going to be something special when it's finally done.

Also wanted to add that I first tried my new unit with my SSV Fatty Wand and then tried it with the Vaporfection wand and I noticed a way darker AVB with the vaporfection wand. I believe this is because the screen is too far back in the SSV Fatty wand and even with the Vivape in bag mode, it's still too far for the hot air to truly get it dark. Of course, I could try to fill the wand more and that would get the material closer to the hot air, but I only like using .2 at a time. I'll add more updates/pics as I continue to experiment with my unit! :science:

And vaporfections excellent customer service brings another one back on board! Just like I said...

Anyway as far as the wands, ive been using a DBV wand, the screen is basically right on the bottom of the the ground glass joint, so the herbs are closer to the heating element. I have not found a noticeable difference in color after using the Vv wand which has the materials farther away and the DBV wand which has the materials closer to the heating element. Its only a couple cms difference though, and Ive been staying around 340F so maybe im too low to notice a difference

I agree 100%. When I got my unit back it was like night and day difference. My vV2 never worked
as good as it does now.
Apparently I had collected some junk inside my unit also, due to the strong fan.
I now ensure that there is nothing near the rear of my unit, and nothing is sprayed in the air when
it is in use, like air freshener etc.
Just got the Mobius Ion Matrix that I ordered, will test it out this weekend with the vV2!
