VaporCup Deluxe Vaporizer

It's not one thing that gives me pause, but all the little things together that put up a red flag about this company.

Saying they have 35 years experience and the company being only months old, being in the casino alcohol slushy business and applying to start a dispensary, direct marketing sales as opposed to having a professional sales team, claiming to be the best vape on the market, priced rather high, etc, etc, etc.

One of these things alone won't get my attention, but all of them together certainly makes me very cautious about the company and their product.

Why are you judging without trying the product or even seeing a review? Also people start companies and make new products because they're not satisfied with what's currently on the market all the time. Just like some of the log vapes u see on this forum. They're just 'mom n pop' shops and IMO they're the best vapes. I'm not saying that's what this company is. Scott if you could find out their size that would be interesting. Clearly this product has not been manufactured for 35 years as it's new lol, that's just their manufacturing experience. Also $250 price point is little higher than middle of the road imo not a negative at all. I just expect a product to feel like it's worth that much in my hand. I'm not defending it as I haven't seen or tried it I'm just saying lets see what happens. Plus @scottg402 knows his shit so I'll be waiting on his word I sugest u do the same. You can't deny this is a very interesting vape.

I've neither said nor implied anything about how the vape performs. What I have said is that all the publicly availability information leads me to believe that these are 'ganjapreneurs' behind this product and that the company throws up red flags to me due their spurious claims. There are a lot of people looking to make a quick buck form legalized cannabis, and these folks strike me as such.

As for being an interesting vape, I just don't see where it's meant to be used, aside from in a car. (Which is a whole different conversation regarding whether people should drive and smoke or not.) It's totally impracticable for public events such as concerts as drinks aren't allowed to be brought in, a pain to carry around with you and odd looking (is there booze in that cup?) out on the town, and there is no need to hide in your own home. I just don't see the point. Perhaps someone has some ideas I haven't thought of.

Yes I can.

Ok well, its definitely gimmicky, but the HAZE dual bowl was seen as gimmicky at first but to much surprise is actually pretty effective according to reports and the customer service is outstanding. Lets see how this Vapor Cup works and how long the warranty period is for.

Then why are u wasting ur time here? Lol it might be only me but I don't follow vapes I'm not interested in. Call me crazy:mental:

Because I like to follow threads and provide input when I get a sense that there's just something a bit fishy going on with the sales and marketing efforts of ANY manufacturer regardless if it's a vaporizer that I would never purchase.

As you can see by my post count and longevity here, I've done this numerous times and without patting myself on the back too much, I don't think that I've ever been wrong in my concerns. I guess it'a because of my 45 years experience in the advertising/marketing arena that has fine tuned my bullshit radar. I've been the author for a lot of that bullshit over the years, both in television, radio and print advertising.

My suggestion, Nick, is just to let this thread die because further discussion just makes matters worse in regards to this vape. Let it go, and let the manufacturer get approval from Vtac so that they can come back in here through the front door and reintroduce their product. That would be the best thing for VaporCup.

But I will say this. Knowing FC, even when a new vaporizer does come through the front door, it WILL have to run through the FC gauntlet and the ultimate success of how it is accepted here is basically in the hands of how the manufacturer responds as well as how the vape performs.

Yes I can understand your skepticism there. In speaking to Michael it's obvious that he has an entrepreneurial spirit and he's passionate about his product. Claiming his vape is the best on the market is something I would not do but everyone has their own style.

That said, in my short conversation he seemed like a nice enough guy. He also offered me a chance to temper my extreme case of VAS by trying out a new vaporizer.

If it's all its cracked up to be then I win and have another goodie to add to my collection. If it turns out to be a dog then I've just lost some time and a bit of material on a hobby I love.

I just really want to see how this vape stacks up against some of the better vapes out there. If it rivals the taste/performance of something like the MiniVap for half the price then the form factor becomes a non-issue IMO.

Personally I don't believe Michael is Toaster but maybe I'm just being naive. I do have a tendency to try to keep things positive and see the good in people. A slight character flaw in me, I guess.........

Edit: Happy New Year Everyone! :)

There is a vaporizer for every fancy. So good luck with this one. I have a bad case of the VAS, but this vape doesn't spark my "gotta have-it" cravings. For me, this one seems to be very "Solo-like", and I have 2 of those, and they cost $220 for them both together. The Solos pair well with water tools, with the proper glass adapters. I guess with tubing it would be easy enough, though, to adapt the Vaporcup.

I don't have the occasion where I need the degree of stealth that the Vaporcup provides. And I use everywhere.

Honestly this doesn't spark my "gotta have it" fancy either but I am curious, especially based on the claims. I don't expect this will come close to curbing my VAS but it would be nice to be pleasantly surprised.

I think they may have a difficult time getting $250 unless this actually does have knock your socks off performance and even then there is the Solo, like you said.

For me this thing needs to be built like a tank and whoop the pants off the Solo in performance/taste to be something worthy of consideration based on its pricepoint/form factor. I look at this as an oversized Solo with an extra large battery and digital temp. control. The cup gimmick is as good as anything to house something this large and does have a niche element of stealth to it IMO.

I expect it to perform very much like the Solo with a little less draw restriction because Michael mentioned they worked a long time to get that right.

If it is any good I will more likely send this out to a couple other respected FC members for trial. That way there are more opinions on it.

I also forgot to mention that Michael told me he sent one to Vape Critic to demo so I wonder if he will come out with a review on it?

I got it yesterday. Haven't used it yet.

8 hour initial charge complete and will be running the burnoff and first run today. The manual even suggested the burnoff which is nice. I know to do them but some folks would not.

From a cosmetic standpoint I'm pretty impressed so far. The unit feels solid and has a nice exterior look and feel.

They also don't skimp on the accessories. It comes with all the tools, screens, ect. that you will need. Michael also included the extra stem pack which comes with a case and caps for the four extra stems. This is a nice touch and I can see it being useful for all day use. It compliments the three cell battery nicely in its ability to hopefully last all day.

But again for this price it comes down to taste and performance. I will report back after some time with it.

Sorry for double post. Edit button gone.

I figured I would throw up some pics. Please excuse the crappy cell phone quality....

This is the VaporCup on the charging base. To the left you have the privacy sleeve that covers the display when you need it to be a bit more stealth. On the right you have an extra accessory that I received. The case includes extra glass stems and caps. I also keep all the tools the VaporCup came with inside.

Here it is with the privacy sleeve and the plastic mouthpiece. This thing can be configured differently according to your likely. Also below is the open case.

Here it is with the glass stem.....

With no stem.....

And next to the Solo for scale.....

I will check back after I have had enough time to form an opinion on how it performs.

I really have no idea. I was wondering the same thing. I will ask him the next time I talk to him.

I think it may be a defect because the display reads right side up.

You can't see it while your drawing and you have to turn it over like this to see it but you can read it upside-down.

However the actual temperature display is reverse and it also feels much more natural to read like this.....

This vaporizer is huge.

Ok, obviously this is built for stealth so while it may look stealthy, the obvious question is going to be in regards to it's stealthiness is...................how much does it smell?

I really need my wife's opinion for that. It functions a lot like the Solo so I suspect the smell (while in use) is similar to that. The oven is burried in the cup a bit deeper so that could keep the smell down a little I suppose.

The oven chamber is about 1-1.5 inches lower then the top of of the plastic cup. I loaded a glass straw with some fresh goodies and put it in cold. I could smell the goods from a few feet away. However you can store the stem preloaded separate with the caps and have no smell.

The other option is to use a different mouthpiece and load the herb into the actual chamber. I haven't done that yet but if you do you can swing the rubber stopper over and it should keep the smell down.

Going by form factor and looks I would only buy this as a gag, that said if its a safe air path, works well, etc yeah I would leave it on my coffee table with my cyanide and happiness comics as a extra conversation piece haha.

Yeah, that's what I thought. More of a novelty piece, eh?
