Vaporbrothers Dabbler & Eleven Pen

Still loving the Dabbler! At this point I only have one gripe. I have two mouthpieces and they both fit very loosely into the cone. In fact, the mouthpiece is so loose I often have to hold it in place to keep it from coming out from the cone. Has anyone else found that the mouthpieces don't have a Snug fit? Anyone using a non Vaporbrothers mouthpiece that fits better??

I dumped the mouthpiece the first day. I use the metal cone as a mouthpiece, it works great. It also makes putting a cap on easy.

I would like another slot in the case to carry oil. I adapted mine to hold a pure gold size vile.

I think one of these may fit, either type A or B.

The price is right at 99 cents a piece. I wonder if they will fit though? I'd hate to order and pay shipping and find out they won't work? I wonder if those derlin mouthpieces that they sell at planet vape will work. They look pretty nice.

VaporWarehouse about a month ago posted that the Vaped pen mouthpiece will work, but I can't find a place that sellls the mp only. Maybe I'll pm VaporWarehouse and see if they know where to purchase.

Thanks for the link Surfer..

I haven't tried it w/o the mouthpiece. It seems the vapor might get a little hot w/o the mp. Do you get any particulates in your mouth with no mp. I might have to give it a try....

Looking to buy my first concentrate vape. I've been considering the dabbler as well as this Luxury v2 Vape kit by RUVAPED. Heard good things about both pens, the new v2 kit doesn't have too long of a track record though as it's fairly new. Stumbled upon this site, any thoughts about either pen in comparison and/or other suggestions of new pens?

From my understanding RUVAPED does not have the best record. Dabbler is made by a pretty reputable company in the vaporizer market. I can't give you a direct comparison. I dont know how the RUVAPED kit hits, I don't have it. Dabbler is a good choice though. Any specific questions?

So it seems as if you can't pack as much in the dabbler compared to some of the other pen vapes. Has this presented a problem? How many hits can you get from a full pack/pretty large dab? Does one do the trick? I was also wondering about cartridge quality and how difficult it is to pack the thing.

Here's a pic of the Dabbler heater, it's literally right there when you open it up. Arguably it's the easiest thing to load in the world!

And yes one hit is enough, but I usually go for two or three :D

Yeah the cartridge is not very big. I much prefer the dabbler's load as you go style though. I can get 3/4 big hits off one large load. Have you used wax before? I don't need more than 2 hits before I am where I want to be. That's two large hits. Packing the thing is super easy. I did it on my walk last night. Unscrew it drop a chunk of crumble, melt it down a bit, and then I hit it. It's super easy. The quality seems to be pretty good. I haven't had to replace mine and I still think Vitolo is on his first one. As long as you don't absolutely abuse it you shouldn't have to worry about replacing them very often. Hell, even with abuse you should be fine.

Thanks a lot, I guess I'm sold! Unless there's something else to consider that has a similar reputation for quality/ease of use I think I'll order one tonight. Any suggestions on the best site to order one to the US? Lowest price isn't the main concern, any suggested accessories I should pick up? Again, thanks for giving me some assurance on making my first foray into vaping.

Vaporwarehouse will be your go to site for ordering the dabbler. I personally don't know of anything at the price point with a better company and reviews behind it. Maybe someone else will pop in and prove me wrong? If you find a post by the vaporwarehouse in this thread you will be able to get 5 dollars off as well. There should be a coupon. Do you plan on using water filtration with it? If not there isn't much else to get. Maybe something to store your oils in? It comes with a dabber tool, carrying case, and charger. Vaporwarehouse some kick ass customer service too.

I am in love! I used an amazingly small amount of wax this weekend and was really impressed until I found a whole bunch that had melted under the coil, now I am super impressed! This thing is amazing! I have not charged the battery at all and it is still going strong. I passed it around at the Hyperion Festival this weekend and it impressed everyone that used it. They all gave me a round of heavy coughing to let me know they liked it! Way to go Vapor Brothers, I think you just reached the next level! What are flowers?

Sorry I haven't been on this thread since posting about my lunch with Linus last week. We had a booth at the INTCHE show in S.F. on Saturday and then I spent the last two days watching the fire burn on the mountain in my town. The road I take to get to the ware house has been closed for the last two days so I sure did pick the best week to work from home.

Anyway I can address a few things that have come up in this thread. According to Vape Pen (the makers of the Dabbler), they have a U.S. made delrin mouthpiece for the Dabbler. It has a bit wider opening than the current mouthpiece and should be a great alternative for those that don't like the stock mp. Not sure when we will be receiving those. I will send an e-mail reminder today to the powers that be.

I also have some experience with the RUVaped pens as they are a local company. In July prior to the "titanium" coil coming out, we purchased a selection of the micro globe pen kits and some additional globes. While upon first inspection, they seemed pretty close in quality to the Dabbler. There are a few key issues that set them apart. Unlike the Dabbler that has an evenly wrapped, thicker inconel wire, the RUVaped parts we received, and saw, had a poorly wrapped, thinner nichrome wire. This has since changed to "titanium".

Coils aside, the wick is the other key difference. The Dabbler has a borosilicate glass fiber wick, while the RUVAped seems to use a cotton based wick? Whatever material they are using, can burn up, affecting the taste, and the performance of the skillet. We are blowing these out on Ebay because we didn't feel they were up to our standards. I had an Ebay customer contact me last week to tell us she was getting a strange burning smell and taste. After two uses, her wick was completely gone. That wouldn't happen if the wick was a glass fiber. From my understanding the new "titanium" coils are still being wrapped around a wick that can burn. This may be the case with those other brands that were just listed.

If you are looking for a globe with a better quality wick, so far we haven't found any issues with the Stag Vapor Co. (also another local company). We are still researching them but they seem to be a pretty legit company with a decent product.

And last the difference between VB and RUVaped: customer service. I deal with 90% of the customer services issues for VaporWarehouse. I've had several reports from customers saying RUVaped customer service is not the greatest. One customer received an order that was missing parts and their CSR belitted her and refused to send the missing pieces. The other complaint, despite there being no mention on their site and on their warranty card, that purchasing from Ebay voids the warranty. They told one of our customers, their warranty was void because they purchased from Ebay. Vaporbrothers feels this policy punishes the customer and is a bit unfair. If they clearly state it like UP Tech does, that's one thing but to not state it is just wrong. Both VaporWarehouse and Vaporbrothers have been working together to deal quickly with any issues the Dabbler has. Wether I am in the office or at home, I work around the clock, 7 days a week, to answer e-mails and calls from customers as quickly as possible. I am also a father of two young kids, so I may not always respond right away.

In closing, after attending Champs in July, expect to see the market flooded with vapor pens. We saw about 5 different types of pens rebranded with a hundred different names. We get at least 5 e-mails a day from Chinese factories trying to sell us vapor pens that we can brand. Unless these companies are working closely with the factory and have someone based in China to oversee quality control, chances are these unknown name pens will be of low quality. Most of you on this forum are probably already aware of this but for those that are not, it's just a friendly reminder that things are not always what they appear to be.

Got the Dabbler, initial impression is that it hits very hard, fairly clean taste (hard to judge so early). Unit feels solid aside from the mouthpiece, will remove/replace for sure.

Any tips to using the included glass dabber tool? It's too thick to manage a tiny bit of wax it seems like. I tried to melt it off the poker but it all just sticks. Should I just buy one of the metal tools posted in the last couple pages of this thread?

Another question, should I try to keep every piece of concentrate on the wick, or if pieces drip off/stick to the walls will it all get vaporized eventually after many dabs? Seems like I might need a dab tool that can get between the coil and chamber, as the included one won't fit.

One thing I was wondering before trying the vaporizer was:

How do you know when the dab is exhausted/vaporized completely?

I noticed that after a few hits the flavor became a bit burnt, adding more concentrate brought it back. Maybe that flavor is the indicator, not sure yet.

Thanks for the update but I wish I didn't read this part... I know ebay is regarded as the "flea market" of the internet but it's only as good as what we sell on it. You can't change what other people do but, for me personally, I don't sell anything broken or that I wouldn't want to buy...

Flavor is not the indicator...
That taste is a reduction... reduced residues from the diminishing wax.
Prevent this by refreshing the wax often ... as often as you see it forming any type of meniscus (The thin slightly curved upper "skin" on any liquid.. or substance that becomes liquid)

Unfortunately, we have to move the units we purchased and there are people out there that want this stuff regardless of what we say. We don't make this a common practice, it's a last resort. We pretty much only sell vapes we have personally tested and used ourselves. Vaped came recommended from a friend but that recommendation panned out to be wrong.

Edit: And I should have added that I took care of this customer and sent her a nail with a better wick plus instructions on how to properly use it.

Cool, I want those badly! My two stock mouthpieces fit ridiculously loose, in fact, when taking a hit I often have to hold them in place so they don't fall out. Thanks VW........

Love my new Dabbler so far, this thing is very low profile and looks just like an ego twist.

I had a few concerns before I started using this thing.

First I didn't want to be constantly tending the bowl. I am not a heavy user, and am finding I am fine with maybe a dab or two per day, the cool part is I'm not at all feeling like I constantly have to add more concentrate. So while the heating element may not hold that much, I feel it is definitely more than enough even if you were going to save a few hits and bring it with you on the go.

Secondly I was hoping it wouldn't give harsh hits, too hot or too dry. That is not at all the case, it hits extremely smoothly. We are talking vapor so smooth you don't even realize what size of a hit you are drawing. Taking a light 3-5 second draw I feel is more than adequate personally, now I know what other posters in this thread meant about "not daring the full 10 second draw." Water filtration definitely not required, unless you are taking monster rips, then it would probably be a good idea.

Lastly I've used tons of different vaporizers and always get nervous about the degree of long-term "bowl maintenance" for each new device, chiefly how much of a pain it is to swap out old herb for new. It will be some time until I figure out how this fares in the long run, and how well the heating element will hold up. Seems like it will hold up well.

The carrying case is great, the mouthpiece is adequate but would definitely swap it for a higher quality one. Same with the included glass dabbing tool from VW, a small flat metal scoop would work much better considering the small volume of the heating element.

If you look at the image at the top of this page the heating element doesn't quite match the battery, one is brushed chrome and the other is smooth/reflective stainless steel. I kind of wish the entire device was the brushed chrome as I think it looks a bit better, but on its own as it is I think it looks good (I got the stainless). Again it is extremely low profile, you have to respect it for that.

So again good first impression, great tasting vapor (best I've tried off any device), will see how it holds up. Well worth the lower price if you can find concentrates, judging by some of the similar more expensive devices I was eyeing.

By the way if you are a long-time vaporizer of herbs, and have access to concentrates, you definitely have to try this out. Yes it really does produce vapor right away, and no trace of burnt flavor, amazing I know.
