So if you try cleaning with Iso, make sure the iso doesnt reach the sides of the cartridge. I had mine soaking coil down in Iso with the iso just above the threading so it touched the sides (mines black). When i lifted it, i noticed the black rubbery coating or whatever was peeling up. Rubbed my thumb on it to try and get it to stick back down and it ended peeling up more off. I now have a dabbl and the duck is gone. Tried peeling all the black off but it didnt really work and doesnt looks weird with the black battery anyway.

Boiling seems way better to me.

Ugh, time to order some extra cartridges

This is something I am slightly worried about. Although it may be unrelated to your problem. I ordered the black version. Does the black coating come off and wear down over time?

Guys, so far Dabbler is surviving...but that's probably mainly because I've been hitting my Vapolution 2.0 and MFLB pretty heavy the past couple weeks and have left the pen alone. I know those little coils can be delicate. My buddy's into the e-cig vaping thing pretty heavy and I guess the hardcore guys use the re-buildable types.

Anyway, if you check out ebay (always dangerous for many reasons) you see many different "replacement" carts for the original Dabbler. While I'm sure it's not recommended and voids the warranty and will probably cause the little baby Jesus to cry, I'm wondering if anyone has done or at least thought about trying some of the aftermarket carts on the Dabbler? Something like the little globe or perhaps even one of the rebuildables? I won't link (not sure what the policy is) but some simple searching on ebay will bring forth what I speak of.

Me? Not so sure. As long as the Dabbler works, I'm OK. But I gotta admit, my cheap side is coming out regarding some of the pricing on what looks awfully similar to my Dabbler cart...just sayin' and all.

^ to address Mr. Dabs,
I have two pens in my collection; a VB Dabbler and another setup with a 900-mAh eGo battery + Vaped globe heater and other e-liquid carts.
The smaller VB is my 'road' pen and the bigger eGo is the 'home' setup (although its more of a spare).

I have used the generic heater on the Dabbler and can attest that is does work. However, that was merely a sample test run when I bought it and try not to mix any of the Dabbler parts. I think it risks damaging something out and probably voiding the warranty.
I also have never tried the Dabbler heaters on the eGo batt, since that could risk burning the Dabbler cart heater out.

There are cheaper knock-off versions of the 'skillet' heater out there, but as always, you will get what you pay for. For example, I had to get a replacement eGO battery as the first was D.O.D. Luckily, my seller allowed an exchange for me. Also of the (4) heaters I got with the globe, only 3 are still going.

The black leaves marks if you drop it on cement, and chips a little at the bottom/top from threading it on and off. Or in my case peels off completely if you expose it to iso for 20ish minutes. I believe the silver and other one both have the rubber coating as well so itll still come off and wear down overtime but maybe less noticeable?

Maybe give away a silicone concentrate container or something like that? Might pull more people your way, over a grinder. Just an idea. :)

Excellent suggestion.

Got 2 new cartridges from Vaporwarehouse. First one doesn't work, slightly gives tiny little wisps of vapor, haven't tried the 2nd one yet because I got it for traveling next month.

Make sure you contact us, if you haven't already.

We've been testing every single heater and Dabbler for the last two weeks to cut down shipping any bad ones. Vape-Pen claims that they test every single one before shipping them to Vaporbrothers as well.

I believe the silver and other one both have the rubber coating as well so itll still come off and wear down overtime but maybe less noticeable?

Both the Stainless and Filigree do not have the coating the Black pen has. The Black one has something that feels almost like a powder coating and seems much more prone to marking than either the Stainless or Filigree.

I use Iso all of the time (91%)
I never "soak" any vapor tool in Iso, but I use it for coil cleaning at very regular intervals.
I use it regularly and I use it hard, and have not yet had incident or anything dissolve.
I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that boiling your coil is safer than dipping it in Iso.
Water begins its corrosion of the connectors as soon as it touches them.
This is why they recommend not getting electronic components wet... even when not "turned on"

Okay well i probably wont try cleaning them anymore then.

I left it sitting in a shot glass of Iso for maybe 15-20 mins, the iso was just barely above thread level touching the black and wheni took it out it was peeling away right at the top.

Just trying to warn others so they dont make the same mistake as me....

Does the silver have any coating? I was just assuming it had the same rubbery coating based on other pens ive seen

You did good warning others.
I am just saying that "soak" or "boil" are both a bit extreme.
With the Iso.. I "dip" and agitate (5-10 seconds), then blot on paper towel... but I repeat this many times.
Please don't misunderstand...I honor what you said... I am not correcting you..I am joining you in warning others, that a soak in Iso is extreme..
What I add is that submersion in any fluid is best not done.
Cleaning is good, and controlled and patient use of Iso aids in this.
I often get impatient and want to rush filtration... or evaporation... or the cleaning of a Dabbing tool like our beloved Dabbler.

Wow, so here's my story so far.

I e-mailed both Vapor Brothers and Vapor warehouse yesterday after my unit began to malfunction. Vapor warehouse e-mailed me back within an hour, was very apologetic, and said right up front that they will replace the battery no problem. They also offered to have the battery sent to the hotel I will be at in Denver so I can use my Dabbler during the 710 cup! Once more, they also used priority shipping instead of the standard first class mail that they would usually use, and they are covering return shipping back.

Truly amazing customer service and thanks to them I will be having a wonderful 710 weekend and now have a special gift waiting for me when I arrive. :cool:This thing will be with me in the mountains as well so I'm stoked to have Vapor Warehouse helping me out in such a huge way.

As for Vapor Brothers, they e-mailed me back at least 12 hours after Vapor Warehouse did. They did offer to replace the battery, but first request that I send the old defective battery to them, I pay the shipping, and then they will test and decide If I can get a replacement... as a customer this makes me feel like the manufacturer is blaming me for receiving the defective battery, since they need to test it and make sure I am not lying or something? I give them credit for offering to replace if they deem necessary, but the way Vapor Warehouse handled the whole situation was much more pleasant.

In the end they will both help you, but IME Vapor Warehouse is a true gem of its own. Seriously, they are the shit.

It's great... There is so much activity on this page I can't keep up. If anybody is wanting more official answers, or whatever suffices for that, feel free to mssg me or contact our support at vaporbrothers.com. If you mention you're an FC member, we might put you on a pedestal.

As for the experience with VW vs VB, it's totally correct and typical. Vaporwarehouse is our super nice side (we're also nice but more stingy) and they have the means and time to do what they do. They are stepping up so well to handle Dabbler issues that they're about to take over all Dabbler repairs. Tell them your Dabbler battery is dead and they will ship you a new one immediately with a return prepaid envelope for you to send your old battery back. It's a step way above what I can do, for sure, so go ahead and let them get you back to vaporizing way faster! They can be reached at www.vaporwarehouse.com.

Vaporbrothers on the other hand is best for dealing with Vaporbrothers box vaporizers as we fix the most amazingly broken units quickly and most of the time for no charge, or a tiny charge- and never for as much money as we see commonly in the industry for repair. We are slower, busy, stressed out - we're a manufacturer making a slim margin while trying to do everything right. Our strong suit is dealing with the nitty gritty of the design how it's made, and somehow passing it off at an affordable price. Our warranty is a promise, now 14 years old, that we don't want to ever let slide, so we are methodical and careful, stating our policy clearly in the warranty text, and treating everybody as fairly as possible. If you have the occasion to talk to our customer service girls, please give them a "what's up from FC!" because they've been in a tough job, under pressure to make everybody happy. Thank you a lot!!

Option for something to include with the dabbler, instead of a grinder.
A tool to clean/remove wax or buildup at the mouthpiece/tip.
I find that i have to either pull very hard to pull some of the wax out of the airpath, or simply clear it with a pin or something very fine tipped. Some sort of mouth tip cleaning tool would be good.
Also, is there a silicon ring stuck up there?
Thanks for the info!

Been hearing that you will make an announcement about something this month. Any sneak previews or will the announcement come soon?

A small paper clip will work wonders for you.

I was also thinking about the free gift, if you gonna include something, i was gonna say maybe one of those non stick containers(nogoo, slik stacks, slick stacks, mini slick balls)

No coating on the Stainless or Filigree. Sorry for the delayed reply. I only had my black Dabbler with me over the weekend.

We've got something on it's way that I think people will like. Hopefully they arrive by the end of the month.

Thanks for the kind words Linus. And anyone that knows the both of us, will agree you are much more kind.

Yes, it is true that VaporWarehouse will have an all hands on deck approach helping Vaporbrothers out with Dabbler issues. Before someone complains here, we are now asking for a credit card deposit to insure we get the defective parts back.

Despite the fact that we have been including a postage paid padded envelope to return the defective parts, several bad apples have not returned them. So moving forward, if a customer wants immediate replacement a credit card deposit will be required. We will not charge the card unless the defective parts are not returned back to us. Hopefully everyone understands the reason for that.

I hope you'll consider giving more time than just a week. Sending packages to the US from my home often takes longer than that.

The time frame isn't set in stone. We are a very flexible company if the customer is staying in touch with us. I probably should not have put a time frame just yet.

Each postage paid envelope includes a tracking number. If there has been no movement within a week, we will charge the card and issue a refund if the packages arrives. It shouldn't take longer than a week to drop the package in the mail. We are sending out replacements within 24 hours of being notified. So I see little reason why it would take a customer more than a week to mail the defective part back to us. If that is an issue hopefully they contact us.

This seems much more reasonable. I'm satisfied .

I received my dabbler in the mail today. I've been charging for several hours(6+) yet the light is still on. Is this normal? How long does it take to charge?

Mine only took about 45 min. Has the USB port you are plugged into, been on all this time? Sometimes its easy to close a laptop or monitor with a usb port, and the charging stops, etc.
