OK, I can see the thing with the
- fragility (it is cheap however, and I stocked up 3 vapocanes
, you can get 2 for 40€ here, including shipping). I store it in the vaponic's marker and I have not broken one yet myself (knocks on wood), not counting one that cracked in the 2nd session but was replaced for free by the vendor.
- I do not really care about the butane (I keep 6 cans of colibri gas in my basement cupboard), and I seem to need only 400ml bottle every 4 months.
- I described my technique (indirect method) some posts up and it gives me almost instant vapor (~10-20secs preheating) using the direct method (and the big ass torch). I do not fancy the direct method either, I can taste stuff that is not supposed there either and has kept me from buying a vape of the sticky brick variety. However, I usually finish the load off that way to make sure everything is extracted completely.
- For handling, I simply use the silicone end thing from the vaponic marker. I usually prepare a spare 14mm glass reducer to store the top part afterwards (to check the AVB).
- I bought a very cheap minibong on dhgate that takes not much place in the cupboard.
I have to admit though, that I am probably the type of guy that
a) loves simple things (I am a scientist and have to deal with complex stuff and software all day) and
b) values taste and ritual over convenience and I love to prepare and clean my glass stuff before vaping in the evenings (using a fixed ritual, that probably also keeps me from breaking stuff easily). And I have tried a couple of other fancier (and way more expensive) vapes but none matches the vapocane in taste and bang or the vaponic in taste and arm chair relaxation (plus playing with fire). To allow for a stupid analogy: I prefer a good knife and stove over things like a Thermomix anytime.
And I wonder why few people seem to use it (same with the vaponic, at least on FC).
Yes Europe can rock (if it wants).
Can you elaborate on your project please?
EDIT: yes, I had one cracking too, but within the first week and it got replaced without issues. As I can still use it, I now consider it additional backup.
Come on VapCap is no match for the Vapocane in taste and bang (yes, I have 3 vapcaps: Omnivap, Ti-woody-S and an M, and I am put off by the taste of heated metal) and you can buy 8-9 vapocanes for the price of an Omnivap. I agree that I would not bring the cane to a party
.
Finally, OK, I see how people are different: I never do anything else during vaping with the vapocane but focusing on the process - plus I love the big flames.
