Nope, it doesn't gunk up anything as long as you keep your load small :)

The Vapman is a lovely portable solution for traditional hashish, and I feel that the hint of flavour that the materials of the Vapman it self ads to the experience goes wonderfully with the spicy aromas of well cured hashish.

Thanks for the help.how much do you normally load and do you break into small pieces or just one lump ?

Do you sandwich between screens or straight into the bowl ?

My Vapman works also fine with hash and I press one or two "pinhead-globule" of hash flat on the screen without 'sandwiching'. Less is more. ;-)

After use, I twist off the middelpiece, and take out the screen, since it could stick on the pan, if it's getting cold again.

If I vape hash, I have to give a longer heating than only for weed. It's often a process of feeling out, which hash needs which temperature.
(hope my english was not too bad to explain, how I vape with hash)

Can you tell me about the condition it is in.
looks "rusty" to me.

It's not about the look.
I'm concerned about the Mica Layer or the golden bowl beeing damaged.

Can't identify what the marks are on the bowl but it's probably just staining? Can't be sure really.

Surely a new basic for 80 bucks or whatever would be better than a used classic Vapman for a similar price.

EDIT: Sorry, not very helpful :lol:. I just wanted to contribute.

Yeah go basic for the same price..hell i only paid 100 for my classic brand new with a torch from piu..so if they are selling that one for 80 i would look elsewhere..

What's the look of the middelpiece, would be also interesting. ;-)

The general condition seems to me, as it was not a lot in use. The mica is not damaged, at least, what I can see on the photos.

The "rusty" stains could be only some hardened rosin. But it's also possible, that the golden layer was broken away in reason of too much heating from the top (during cleaning), who knows?

I would ask the seller, if he could try to clean it with a little bit thootpaste and cotton swab, that should solve the problem, if it's only rosin-stains.

This classic pear tree vapman looks ok to me, the stains are from some kind of concentrate, I guess. Nothing to worry about, really. What about the middle section? In case the middle section is in good condition as well, it would be quite a good purchase and this vapman will last you as long as any new one.

Anyway, what makes this specific to Vapman, is we are gonna be able to afford to get the station again! Yay!!! Just as soon as it is available... as long as it's after Dec 18th.

Decided to join the Vapman club today as a cheapish way to satisfy short term VAS after learning my Zion pre-order will take a bit longer than expected. It should be coming in the next day or two but I don't currently have a micro torch to use with it.

I do have a butane kitchen torch (like what you'd use for dabs). If I turn down the flame as low as it goes it's about 3/4" long. Will this create too much heat and damage the Vapman? Mostly trying to figure out of I should be tracking a micro torch down locally today or tomorrow or if I can order some of those $3.00 Deal Extreme lighters and use the Vapman with a kitchen torch while I wait for them to arrive?

welcome to the club. if by kitchen torch you mean one of those you use to make creme brulee with, the consense seems to be to avoid them. the flame could be too big and potentially damage your precious vapman. why risk it. :) just wait for the Deal Extreme lighters to arrive, if you can't source a torch lighter locally. also, don't get yourself a double or tripple torch lighter. they are way to powerfull for the little guy.

Thanks for the quick reply and for stopping me from damaging my Vapman.

I've located a couple stores near me that stock the Ronson Jet Lite which seems to be quite well reviewed as a cheap refillable micro torch. Double the price of Deal Extreme but refillable and I already keep butane canisters on hand for a handful of butane powered kitchen gadgets.

Someone living in high elevation of the Swiss alps, brought around a small piece of alpine Juniper and I could not resist trying to make a vapman of it, even this piece of very hard wood was full of cracks and completely warped.
Worldwide there are many (70) species of Juniper, the one growing in alpine Switzerland grows very slow and doesn't get big at all, may be only 3 feet high. It is more of a shrub than a tree, therefore it is not really a wood used to make things around here. Different in Syria and Turkey, there they have Juniper growing up to heights of 140 feet. Anyway, the one I got grew at the treeline (6500 feet) and is probably very old as the growing season up there is extremely short.
Because it is Tuesday today, I thought, why not share this picture with the vapman community?

the are some people from down under around here. i'm confident, they can help you. what about ordering directly from switzerland? no tax mark-up for the first import through the seller, so you have only to pay the taxes once and i'm sure Rene can offer a reasonable shipping option.

I just ordered a Vapman through these guys, although no free shipping for me - perhaps it's my location. Oh well, with express post, I should have it by Friday (we get mail only 3x a week here). Looking forward to trying this out. :)

Aussie I take it? Used to get the mail weekly .... By plane in far western qld :(. Hopefully mine will be here Thursday we can compare notes! I saw you were looking at the VG too, I can compare to that and the hammer since you were looking at butane.
Been doing some reading and it seems the bowl is around .05? Was looking for something to do a little tollerance down stepping!
This might be just as exciting as the vapes in waiting on! (Vapcap and single bat zion) thought about buying a few times don't know how I hadnt. Only learnt today it's Swiss!

Yup, although not as remote as far western qld! Wow. This is my first time vaping, so my notes might not be worth much. lol There was a lot more to choose from with this vape than the Zion (that was an easy decision by far). Different sellers, different woods, different materials, different coloured eggs.. ;) It's all too much! haha
