Vapman

One of René's first development sketches actually included the idea of using Bic lighters.
(somewhere in the forum here there was a picture of this sketch)

The disadvantages quickly became apparent during the test:
The energy is far too low, i.e. the heating time is far too long, and the Bic produces a lot of soot on the heated surface.
These two major disadvantages led to the jet lighters, which are ideal for this job.

Yes, that makes sense, thanks!
I guess the regular lighter can't compete with a torch lighter in terms of power...
too bad because indeed all smokers are equipped with them.

I found the sketch on another forum:

Can someone convince me to finally get a vapman?
That's not so easy unless you try it. Everything that needs to be said has already been said. Great micro dosing, amazing flavour, looks and feels amazing in the the hand, great craftsmanship, .....

I've tried to convince friends outside with the torch.
Generally people are intrigued but put off by the learning curve( it's not actually that difficult).
It's much easier I convince with the station but that's an investment.

Honestly you could count the negative vapman posts on this thread on one hand. If that doesn't convince you buying with the black Friday prices, I'm not sure what will?
You can always wait until whatever update their teasing actually is.
I think all their tweaks so far have been positive changes (I still love my swiss versions) so maybe that might persuade you but then again you might miss the sale prices.

The only reason I haven't gotten a Vapman by now (it's a classic, I know... ) is that I'm not a torch guy. Nothing against torches but I just don't use them in my current living situation.

They look like beautiful little pieces of art and I'm genuinely interested but I'd have to get a Vapman and a Station just to try it. One day.
I totally get how a torch can potentially not fit into a current living situation. If or when that changes i highly recommend giving it a go.

Torches are the most versatile and powerful heater we have in this space :brow:
30% off...

Seriously, they are really just wonderful little vapes. They take a little time and skill, but the slow, meditative process gets you gently baked. They're among the best with flavor and the high tends toward relaxing. The station makes it easy to share, adds reliability to low-temp roasting and a backstop to more aggressive roasting.

It looks like Santa may have something special in his sack this year, but in the meantime...30% off!
Thank you for the reply.

The “new” is what has me temporarily reserved.. although I already missed opportunity for a classic vapman and I only have the v2 option currently. A back up vapman doesn’t sound terrible if I happen to need the “new” too
Greetings, well I would take advantage of the sale going on...I purchased my first one and could not stop. One main reason is the high it gives me. I have all the other vapes around...the higher end ones. The Vapman gets me really stoned in very small amounts in the chamber. Also, they are tiny works of art and each one is completely different to look at. I hope you get one...and when you do give it some time. It does have a small learning curve that you will overcome. Anyway, as you can see there is always some innovative thing going on at INHALE...Cheers.
Thank you for the reply.

I also have a few nice devices and have tried many. You pretty much nailed it for me. Touching on the effects provided is exactly what I want to hear. I favor hybrid, conduction and ritual. Vapman has always sounded like a winner to me.
Simply the best vape out there. :2c:
Maybe it's not about being the best. Without doubt it is an incredible well thought-out design that stood the test of time. It almost never breaks, it's a lifetime investment. There aren't really other vapes that I know of with such a strong fan base, not in numbers but in the way we appreciate this device. Using the Vapman can be a very special ritual that somehow connects you with other users. And, at least that's my experience, it's a helpful and welcoming community. It's always hard to tell when you're in it, but as far as I know, we aren't a cult, yet.:)
Thank you for the reply.

I was wondering about the durability. Thank you for touching on that. My most durable and fragile devices use torches.

I think everyone has shared true aspects of the vapman.
In my opinion it's the best at his own thing, that is a unique microdosing session. With long draws and almost no visible vapor, it's unbeaten in terms of efficiency and flavor. Additionally, once you get the hang of how to heat the pan, the session has a really mindful twist to it, it's relaxing in a different way that's hard to find in other vapes.
Of course if you want big clouds and heavy hitting highs it's not the best out there.
Excels with concentrates. Can be a bit tricky to keep clean. Not cheap, but high quality design and assembly.
Unparalleled community sharing opinions, thoughts and tips.
Thanks for the reply.

All the relaxing ritual talk has me :science:

All great points.

Thanks everyone. I should have mentioned my current favorite vape is torch powered with no temp indicator. I love to earn my sessions and enjoy a ritual. Sometimes I take it slow, sometimes it’s fast. I could definitely use a durable and potent sipper in my fleet.

Do I wait for the last minute and order on Black Friday to see if they drop what’s new then?

What wood would you say has the least signature? I’ve had more good experiences than bad but some of my walnut has been sour and some swamp woods like zebra wood don’t settle well with me.

Thanks again everyone.

I already missed opportunity for a classic vapman and I only have the v2 option currently.
Actually, the inventor René is still producing small batches of the original model in various woods. It’s a bit jumping into the deep end (with no sales or shipping), so I’d say try the V2 to start. If you get bitten by the bug, you’ll find yourself emailing him eventually. I’m very happy I did.

That said, the new owners, David and Michael, are all-in for their product and have made substantive improvements with the V2, which is every bit as worthy of your dollar (and fewer of them to boot).

Probably worth seeing what’s coming down the pike though. David and Michael made all the V2 improvements quietly and iteratively, so if they’re teasing a launch, you know something big’s in store. Honestly, from what you’ve written, I think it’s hard to go wrong.

I guess the cat is out of the bag now!

This new Vapman features a larger bowl capacity along with all the other QOL improvements that the 2.0 brought to the table. It’s still very much the Vapman we all know and love but now it’s not “just a microdoser” (plus one more feature I’m not at liberty to speak of yet)

I happen to have 2 of the new one (long story ha) and one of them I’ve been putting through the absolute ringer and testing in as many ways as possible. It’s so much easier to share a bowl with friends now which is awesome. I’ve taken this to music events and parties and actually got to enjoy passing it around to people, which is something I didn’t really like to do with the OG.

The flavour and efficiency is all still there but now I’m getting big clouds and longer sessions. Also sandwiching hash in between herb has been a delight with this new bowl. I’ll have some more thoughts on it but for now that’s what I have to say.

i've also been giving the new vapman a workout ... the larger bowl size is really nice ... especially when sharing it with others ... it has all the internals that the upgraded v2.0 has.

a nice thing is even with the bigger bowl ... the actual size of the vapman is the same as the og's and the v2's (it fits in the wooden vapcases that i love perfectly).

Soooooo.... The pan is bigger, but the mid section is still compatible? I don't understand how this is possible if it still fits in the station? It's it just the V2 mid section that works? Is the pan a different shape at the top or something? Or is it just TARDIS technology?

What's going on with the holes at the bottom, and the silver flat bottom of the pan?

How Soon Is Now?
so dear friends!
finally we can talk about it!!!
This one has a much larger bowl (approx. 0.2g), all the improvements of the 2.0 and another great feature that will be revealed soon. I can only say that this thing has taken my heart by storm and has immediately placed itself at number 1 of all vapos!
I've been using it every day for about 4 weeks now and it vapes excellently, tastes great like all Vapman, the other feature makes a new session vape with long sessions possible, it makes thick clouds (yes! the Vapman can make thick clouds !) and stays true to himself...
Here you can see cherry wood, which in the pure version is delivered pre-charred (kind of like roasted) and therefore also in the pure version comes without a charred taste. 100 percent without the hassle of running in or waiting. just great.
Release is on December 1st and it is the absolute step in further development that many have wanted!

They’ve changed the geometry a little bit to accommodate the larger bowl size. Essentially it’s a v2 with the bigger bowl but it’s no longer conical at the bottom, it’s flat with those holes that you see. As to what those holes are doing… you’ll find out in 2 days!

Edit: also the new Pure’s will come pre-charred. This one is in Cherry wood.

I've been using this prototype for a few weeks and it just replaced my OG vapman for flower usage.
I'll do a more complete overview later (I need a bowl first).
Others beta testers might chime in and talk about their experience as well !
I wish them absolute success, but I don't think a larger pan is anywhere near the top of my list of improvements for the vapman. I hope this is just an XL and not a replacement for the original. I was disappointed with the 2.0 upgrades too and I wish they still produced both.

What would be at the top of your lists for improvements?

Also, I’m totally not surprised that you aren’t impressed haha.

Also I don’t think this is meant to replace the 2.0 as far as I know they’ll be making both. I agree with you though, I wish they would still make the OG/v1.5 model
