Just noticed the new station is set for launch soon.how does it differ from the blue version of The station ? Any major changes apart from colour and logo ?

No major changes between the blue and the black station. Electronics, the programming and the hard ware are identical. There are some minor adaptions which the user will not notice.

We are definitely very close of launching the new series, my apologies to the people which are waiting for a while already.

We will have new packaging for the station and the vapman sets. The station set will include the station, power supply, vapman (basic or classic), lighter, screen for concentrates, mini screwdriver and cleaning brush.

Let's see what René says, but I understand that he will sell the Station by itself as well.
you'd think he would. hopefully he will! perhaps he'll also add a nice discount for his fellow FC Vapman enthusiasts? perhaps another contest, of which i'd like to participate this next go around! i'd really like to try the station!

Anybody own a Station and rarely use it?

So here we go again. BOXING WEEK SALE
97TLrMB.jpg

Remember. Its a Liquidation sale, and from my understanding they only have the pear wood classic. By my calculation, $65CAD = $48USD dependent on how great or how shit our dollar is upon purchase.

I know TorontoVaporizer left a bad taste in some ppls mouths, but they're decent ppl!

First, sorry for the ever ongoing delays with the station! We don't have issues with the station itself but with details of the production. We were actually going to launch the station before the holidays but in the last moment we found out, that the potentiometer has the wrong values and it has to be changed. Nothing big or serious but time consuming.

@Chandler: We will offer three types of packages:

Vapman sets: vapman with lighter, screen, screwdriver and cleaning brush.

Station sets: station with the complete vapman set.

Station only: station with power supply and power chord.

Hi vapman thread. I'm new here but not to other threads or fuck combustion. I got a vapman for Christmas. So thought I'd head here for some advice.
I got the vapman with out mica so just bare wood.
ATM the I have a few vap caps a e nano and a flower mate. I've had plenty of vapes over the years. Anyways
I hope I don't annoy anyone with some newb questions.
But can I ask the veteran vapman crew for tips.
Firstly do you have to grind?
Is fine or course better?
Can you microdose with this vapman or over fill the bowl?
If I plug the holes in the mouthpiece does this produce more vapor?
Can I treat, varnish or paint the vapman? Ive only used once but I'm getting charring on the wood and a little burnt smell and smoke. Is a tiny flame recommended? Is the Charing part of the design and will happen on all vapmans?
Vapor wise bit wispy so far.
I'm trying to fact find before I use it don't want to wreck the look of the vapman by not using it correctly.
Thanks guys

Hey Lazy, welcome.

- Firstly do you have to grind?
Yes

- Is fine or course better?
Finer is better

- Can you microdose with this vapman or over fill the bowl?
Yes. But since you have essentially material in the bowl, be careful not to combust.

- If I plug the holes in the mouthpiece does this produce more vapor?
Yes, but we've found that it's not necessary. You can plug all holes with toothpicks at the beginning if you want so you can get more visible vapor - use it as training wheels and then remove later.

- Can I treat, varnish or paint the vapman?
You can treat the outside with Drying Linseed Oil or wood wax.

- Ive only used once but I'm getting charring on the wood and a little burnt smell and smoke. Is a tiny flame recommended?
Flame should be rather short. OF's technique is to measure the dark blue (middle part) of the flame against the bottom ring as your guide. (Did I get that right @OF?

- Is the Charing part of the design and will happen on all vapmans?
Yes.charring is not a problem. It will actually season the wood and make it more heat/fire resistant.

- Vapor wise bit wispy so far.
This happens to everyone at the beginning. Follow OF's mantra: Don't be shy with the heat. Or mine: You have to dance in the fine line between combustion and most vapor production.

Play with it. If you combust, Do Not inhale. Blow out of the mouthpiece, quickly remove the mouthpiece and blow out of it a few times and quickly clean your bowl.

Go here and watch the first couple of videos to learn tips and tricks and proper care.

Peace.

Close enough for sure. The idea is to always use the same flame size so you deliver a uniform and repeatable amount of heat each time. Rhythm counts big time with this guy. I suggest a flame size such that it takes a couple of say 5 second cycles to get to temperature and the same (single) heating between hits for reheating. If it's too short a time it's too hard to get uniform results.

Remember, it's a conduction game and you have to put the heat in before the hit and coast through it. The shape and nature of the Copper greatly help here, but the user needs to be in control.

Perhaps the best advice with new guys is to sneak up on vaping temperature to learn what it's about, but then don't be too shy with the heat. Even court combustion a time or two. To find the limits.

Thanks guys for the tips and answers to my questions really helpful.
I've just had a second sesh with it and it went better than the first I think because of was scared of hurting it the first time round haha.
The wood burning smell and smoke is decreasing. I guess because its seasoning.
I haven't got tooth pics to hand ATM so I have used a tiny bit of sellotape til I can get some.
Second sesh got my brave with the flame and 5 second cycles. Got some better clouds. Definitely. Still learning though.

I looked at the video link thanks for that. Only watched one so far and that's charring vapman video.
I think I'll be giving that a go.
Can I use Danish wood stain oil? As I have this around from staining our worktops.

Anyway your answers and tips so far have got me in the right direction for sure.

I'll be posting back in a few days with findings.
Looks like my vapcaps have got a new cousin to hang with haha
Thanks

Watch the tips and tricks video below as soon as you can. It shows you how to heat and how to handle your vapman so you don't put undue pressure on the bowl and air tubes.

@M0J0 the only "trick" I see in that video is that now I want another tattooed Vapman, they are beautiful.

(Mine is one of my most treasured personal belongings which only gets used on those rare occasions when i can sit back with the heating station.)

Ooops! Wrong video. Thanks to pointing it out!

I added the Tips and tricks video to the post above. I left the tattoo video in case someone hasn't seen it yet...

And thanks for the kind words. :D

Happy New Year to all of you!

I am regularly visiting FC and especially this thread for about half a year now and feel that it is time to say Hi and thank you for all the info and insights into this wonderful little device. I think it's perfectly designed and also got a lot of soul. It's that kind of pipe modern hobbits would probably tend to use. ;) I can compare it to the Mighty (which also is awesome in it's own way) and if I should choose one over another it would definitely be the Vapman. I can also recommend the Station for it. If you treat the Vapman devices gently, they probably last a lifetime. Glad I found out about it, which happened here, so thanks guys and girls of FC...

I too can sing the praises of the Vapman. When I first seen the Vapman I thought what a great price and how dainty. Then I seen some in use videos and I thought wow that's Not a dainty hit. So I took the plunge and have loved my Vapman.

Then I proceeded to abuse the shit out of my Vapman. And while it can take a lot of abuse never and I mean never put a un-egged Vapman in your pocket and do yard work. You'll pull a few more pieces out of your pocket then you first put into your pocket.

So while I still have my original Vapman in pieces( I really want to send it in and get it Mojo'd but keep forgetting to do so)I bought a second Vapman a year or so back.
You see I love the Vapman for kief only hits. You know where you don't want to put a bed of fresh flowers down to help filter your kief. This little jewel works wonders for minute amounts of materials.

And one day I will own a Vapman heating station. And I know for a fact my vaporizer rotation will be totally turned on its head.
Happy New Year to the Vapman family.

Made some oak tree units of a very old roof beam a client sent in from his parents house in Germany.

Thought this might be worth sharing as the oak tree is a symbol for strength and longevity.

Thought this might be worth sharing as the oak tree is a symbol for strength and longevity.

And traditionally, Naval Power. The Brits used about six thousand trees, almost all Oaks, to build a single First Rate Ship of the Line like HMS Victory (Lord Nelson's flag ship, still on display in Portsmouth as the longest commissioned ship in the world). 6,000. And to be a player you need a LOT of such ships. And you get to hump that wood to the shipyard as best you can, horses are the biggest game in town here. By the time you build and arm one of those you've put a dent in the treasury for sure.

We 'Colonials' were subject to a ruling from this, any tree in the new world over 8 inches in diameter belonged to the King (of England), it was forbidden to cut them. Just after the Revolution there was a building boom that resulted in huge beams in barns and such as the Rebels rushed to cut down the big trees they'd been plowing around.

Out in the West where I live we had tribes of Indians dependent on acorns from the two kinds of Oaks we have here, for them civilization revolved around 'the mighty Oak'. Here we have 'Oak to burn', it's the most popular firewood in many places. Gives the squirrels a place to hang out as well. Along with Redwoods Oaks are personal favorites.

The Druids have a few thoughts on the subject too, I think. Nobody seems to care much about them these days.
