Thanks to @Die_Toffifee for a very lovely wooden stand!
@tashian: Nothing to worry about these cracks. I picked up a yew Vapman once from René that had a really deep crack right through where a screw sits, a basic, and it's totally stable. You could throw it at a wall probably and maybe gets damaged but not because of the cracks. Don't worry!

Perfect. Thanks.
The more I use it the more I love it.

Well, I know but if I waited just 2/3 days I would get the case way cheaper in this package. Will get it later when I am able to justify the shipping costs.
I had ordered a box...waited about a week or so. The shipping is a bit steep...and the little bottle inside arrived broken or rather shattered. I sent them a photo of it. The box survived but, the shipping brown bag was damaged a bit. They said when I order again they will ship new bottles...oh well.

I tried it once and it did not went very well. The one in the classifieds looks better than my try at least :) Though someone here, was it Mojo, was an expert charrer. If done right it's like art! Anyway both in the classifieds are basics and bothe would be charred in the inside. No problem, but you have to be ok with it or be disappointed

To be clear, I don't mean the normal char on the inside near the bowl. Although it does look like they also overdid that on to the middle section.

I had no idea people were burning up their beautiful vapes on purpose. It takes all kinds, I guess.

Yeah I kinda fell for it because it says "very special" Vapman.
I was expecting something more than that.
Ebony would have been nice.. :)
Ebony would be special for sure. Maybe it is the photos but this one really looks terrible. I admit I tend to keep my devices as neat as possible, while still enjoying them. But paying a premium for a charcoal vapman seems way beyond that.

Why would someone do that?
Because I could! ....and I was young and needed the money. :D

I had 2016 the opportunity and wanted to make the experience once. It turned out
to be very difficult to get a dark, evenly charred surface without burning too much wood.
So it just gives the "leather sofa" look that some like, others just don't.
The linseed oil gave the shiny surface.
(do not give oil to the inside, otherwise it smells nasty when heating!)

However, I would sell it for a maximum of 50€ if I had to. :D
Probably I will give it away but rather times, as usual.
It was clear to me at the time, after this experience I did not need to char another Vapman. ;-)

If I remember correctly, @Gourmet himself once carried out such a project.
That is correct. I wanted to test this out for the community, my conclusion is:
One does not necessarily have to copy this. :D

Attention, many pictures behind the spoiler!

Personally I like the dark look although I have to admit it's difficult to get an even "roast". I "rescued" the charred VM from a home without love and tried to save him. Mojo's dark chocolate VM's were my inspiration. Apparently I fucked it up :)
I spent a lot of time on both units to make them look like they are. I dissembled the bowls, sanded, polished and waxed them several evenings in front of the TV.
What do you guys think would be a reasonable pricing, considering the hours of work, sweat and elbow grease to make them look like they are now?
At least they look very special, nobody can't deny this... 😅
I lowered the price from the charred one already to 60.- considering the attention the post gets from this thread.
What about the walnut (without mica)?

Edit: I'm not trying to make a quick dollar on my vape gear, I felt like my offers in the classifieds had a reasonable pricing. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks to everyone contributing.

Please do not take my statements as criticism!
I can not say anything about your work, probably it has a higher level than mine.
Hence the lower price on my part, moreover to be understood with a lot of humor.

I don't think your pricing is excessive, as long as the Vapman work well and look nearly new.
(no big charring of the middle part, regularly cleaned and shiny pan, closes well, clean wood, draws well)

The walnut model is currently available for overseas only relatively expensive (postage costs...), so I do not know how to price this.
I think just out of respect for the Vapman and the long life plus easy repairability, the prices must not be set too low.

Imho there's no need to justify anything. Some like it, others don't. You do, so it's all good.

I thought those prices were just fine.

I'd second that.

Obviously I am not the customer for this one, so my opinion does not matter on pricing. But I think you should charge what you think is fair. If no one wants to pay a fair price, you are better off not selling.

My last thought on charing: these Vapmans must have been much less expensive back in they day if folks were willing to experiment with setting them on fire.

@Michel No critique from me too, I felt it was more like a discussion about the charring process in general. :) Are you still one of us or without any Vapmans soon? Peace!
I'm just about to sell every vape I own besides the TM and one 2019 Omnivap…
Kids are growing up, it’s difficult to keep everything out of their sight and still keep the less used vapes in rotation…

Hm. I see what you mean, but the pictures provide not a lot details when zooming in. It looks ok to me actually. The gold plating seems to be intact as well, it's maybe a minor aesthetical question - I'm sure it won't affect the way it works at all. I'd give it a Q-Tip rub with ethanol. No reason to worry if you are asking from health perspective by the way
