Discontinued Vapir NO2

I was debating whether to buy a new one. I can't justify spending more money...I just bought an SSV, but I did like my NO2. Maybe next holiday.
I enjoy the NO2 but there are better vapes out there for the same price or less. The market has evolved since the NO2 was released but it has not. Unless you can get one for dirt cheap, I'd look elsewhere... Just my :2c:

I bought a new NO2 from a headshop yesterday, and after I unpacked it, put in the battery, and plugged it into the wall... Nothing. No LED light, no response when I toggle the on and off. I left it plugged in overnight and still nothing.

This is my second NO2, I bought one a few years ago and worked like a charm for years with no problems, other vapes have gotten wonky on me so I figured I'd go back to the NO2 which was durable as hell for years. This is a headshop in Manhattan that I stop in every once in a while, I highly highly doubt they knowingly sold me a dud product.

Before I go and try to return it... am I missing something blindingly obvious, has this happened to anyone else? I'm surprised bc the one I had for years was super reliable. Thanks.

I had to return mine once a few years ago. It would burn herbs. When I got the new one, which I still have (but is not working), seemed to have died a few days after the warranty was up. I hope the shop you got it from stands by their product. You may want to try www.vapornation.com next time, I've always had good service with them. Call up vapir; I think there's a way to reset the NO2...They tried it with mine.

Does anyone with an no2 know if the pads from the Prima fit the no2 chamber, I have a hard time getting the screens placed in the chamber properly and the prima pads seem a simple solution to my problem. Ordering a Prima and can grab some extra pads.

TIA.

I bought my NO2 in 2010
I made my first NO2 video in 2011
In 2013 the battery slowed down so I bought a new one from @PuffItUp
The NO2 chugged on for 2 more years.... then in 2015 during a Police Raid on our home the NO2 was confiscated. It sat in temperatures above 110º in storage for two years.
I got all property back from the Police, following Judges orders once our case was resolved.
I have been using the NO2 lately... a great deal, and I thought I would show a little NO2 Love.
2011 video is at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapir-no2.1694/page-61#post-210742
If you look you will see that I sit in the same exact location in the same room, but the room has had additions since 2011!

Well… it has been a Vapir kind of day.
I rekindled my love early in the day of my Vapir Rize….A half hour session that consumed 1.1 grams, and left me comfortable for a couple of hours!
.33 of a gram fit into the loading disk of the Vapir One 5.0…. and left me smooth and disk depleted. An hour well spent.
I busted out with the Prima after lunch, and did 2 sessions… one with flower, and one with concentrate(wax) on the mesh pad.
Next. a pre-dinner treat using the Vapir Oxygen Mini… .25 of a gram.
This brings us up to the moment… I have a small scoop of .1 of a gram in the NO2 (7 years old.. only one battery change at year 3).. and the NO2 session just won't end!!
There is a reason the NO2 is still on the top 3 of the original part of my signature.

Now for a tidbit…. a piece of Vaporization History that is not well known.
While I have other favorite vapes… the NO2's medicating effect always felt different to me, and I loved the unit.. (I have owned this one for 7 years)
This was when I learned about the difference between convection and conduction.
The Oxygen Mini came early on, but needed to be plugged in… even though it was tiny. You could get an external rechargeable battery pack, the size of half a brick… but I always used mine plugged in.
Vapirs Vaporizers are all convection vapes.
NO2 was fore-runner in the technology of convection Portables, and the portables that followed began to grasp at conduction technology. (tight oven = less battery power consumed Vs. heated air passing through standing herbal matter)
AS far as Convection Technology, Vapir has remained consistent, and steadfast in pursuit of convection devices.
How do I know?
I have stayed in contact with this company through the years.
I found that they have held the first patent on convection vaporization, since 2007.
You can view it at
Patent for Convection Vapor Technology.
Any way, I have just expressed respect for Vapir, a company that has not faltered...
and I owe them a great deal as I learned from their devices!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a water pipe and/or portable bubbler that will work well with a Vapir NO2?

I cannot think of any portable bubbler that would work with the NO2, but I do use a water pipe with mine. I just leave the silicon tube on and remove the X-TIP MOUTHPIECE. Turn it upside down with the silicon tube on and stick the tube into a 14mm female. To make the fit perfect I use a S&B Plenty tubing section over the Vapir silicon tube at the end. It works perfect.

@Vitolo You know you are right about the N02. It really is part convection. I had left it at another location and had not used it in awhile. I had always noticed the groves in the side of the NO2, but I never, ever saw the holes in side of those groves. Looks like they lead to the heater. If you put you hand around the holes you cannot get a draw. I guess that's why I can leave the N02 and come back and still get somewhat fresh draws, especially after stirring. This vape has always been better than the Prima.

Vapir has since day one used convection technology.
Every one of their vapes uses it. Check the post at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapir-no2.1694/page-96#post-1238742
Read the original patent for convection vaporization at: Patent for Convection Vapor Technology
it was filed in 2007 by the owner of Vapir corporation.
Glad you are still enjoying the NO2.. I sure do!

The N02 is heaven through a waterpipe or a bong with a removal downstem diffuser. And you can temp step with it too. I love doing that.

It's time to replace the No2. Do I just get another NO2 or have people moved away from the NO2?

Is the NO2 v2 better than the original?

I still use mine - especially when I am sick and need an extended cool session. Only reason I switched to a Haze Dual 3 was convenience (I can pre-load 6+ bowls).

And yes, the new NO2 heats almost twice as fast as the original.

Yes... the car charger fits.
The unit uses all the same parts.
On another note Vapir still answers their phone but with message only, and no tone to leave a message.. they direct you to their website.
NO2 is not listed!
I had MANY vape sellers showing NO2 as out of stock... They were and are all V2 at this point.
I found NO2 available at:
http://www.vaporizergalaxy.com/vapir-no2-vaporizer.htmlfor a very good price....
and for a very high cost it is at https://www.australianvaporizers.com.au/products/vapir-no2-v2-vaporizer
I believe the NO2 is not made any more....
I even think Vapir may be selling last stock, and leaving the business.
I have one of each vape they made, and I am going to try to score a Vapir NO2 Battery later today!

Vapir never really got the attention it deserved, I feel they could've gone pretty far. The first no2 I used was with some random girl I met from an out of town friend, she had one going the whole time we played darts, I got rippedddddddd.

Vapir as a corporation started early in the game.
In 2007 Vapir patented portable convection vaporization: Patent to Convection Vaporization
Yes many learned and got patents, but Vapir was first.
11 Years is a good haul!
Even Willie says so!

After placing many calls and emailing many of Vapir's past leaders... I got an email this morning.
While the business is listed as permanently closed, and their phones are "not working numbers".....There is still someone there at Vapir that cares!
Dear Vito,
Hope all is well with you!
We are still in business however discontinuing some of the older units.
Thank you for your support we really value your friendship!
Kind Regards,
Vapir
