Just gonna give some love for the NO2 since it's my first well known vaporizer.
I assume they've solved all their problems or whatever by now because I couldn't be happier with my purchase lol. Bought a "New 2013" for $85 on eBay, and after a week or so of experimentation I've finally found all the sweet spots and got the rituals down haha.
Followed the directions on like page 57 or something of this thread and have since learned as I properly take care of the unit..
I never tried to "pre-bake" or whatever with it. I put in the battery, left the cap off letting it charge after getting for 12 hours with it "on" but no heat. I soaked the bendy main mouthpiece shaft in a bowl of really hot tap for 20 mins, then rinsed it off, wiped it down and let it air dry. Put on the X-Tip thang. After it reaches temperature and turns green, I take off the cap, load the herbs, then replace the cap. Then I slip on the bendy straw tip combo onto the black mouthpiece and start inhaling with might lol. By hit #2-3 its mega visible if you turn it up like I do, and much more efficient in my opinion.
You want a finer grind with this one for maximum stonage lol. I use a little plastic grinder I got with my chinese vapes. I left the screen in the bottom as it was originally and use one fat full scoop with the scoopy thing personally to get a general shape going.
If you only want like a few hits you probably need much less than a fat full scoop lol. Then I pack the herbs with the wooden stick things that come with it, very lightly to towards the bottom of the cylinder, taking care to not touch the hot walls of the chamber.
This unit makes some serious clouds if you do it right. I started around 360-375 but have now adjusted to my liking using 380-385 as the start off temperature haha, maybe a bump up to 389 if your grind didn't end up as great. Sometimes I drop down to 375-377 if it's too intense. It makes as big of a hit as some desktop-style units in my opinion! (Maybe I just have an efficient one?)
It gets me incredibly medicated and has temp. control like no other. I like to try to balance the temperature right between burning your chest and medicating the shit out oneself haha. Maybe soaking the mouthpiece did the trick, as from day 1, I never tasted any plastic or anything weird, just tasted/smelled like a quality vape should, a nice honey like scent and oil remaining on the tube and inside the mouthpiece (I've only been vaping reggie out of it lmao. I'm still quite high). Sometimes there's not really even as defined taste at all, but still huge clouds if you use it right
I've only ever used my shitty $30 chinese box ones or friends' vapes, so this is a gigantic leap forward in my vape arsenal, and cheap as well. This one actually works better while connected to the charger (heats up faster, seems more efficient). I can tell by taste when I've hit it too much, it will taste brown/burnt tasting and get a little harsher overall, and I will have hit the thing like 10-15+ times if done properly. I find the very light pack into the bottom of the chamber (more in the screen?) to be the most effective technique so far to increase efficiency.
When pouring out a bowl, I just shut off the heating unit and wait 'til its under 300 as I think Vitolo directed, and then open the cap and give it a few bangs on a desk lol. If that doesn't work, I loosen it slightly with the wooden stick and then proceed with the banging. Then I give the cap's screen a few quick brushes, replace the cap and let it continue powering down. Or, if I'm in the mood for moar, I reheat to my favorite temperature, then remove the cap again and load up another scoop XD Not sure if this is recommended though it works perfectly fine over here.
I use the brush to lightly bristle out the inner screen with the NO2 upside down every few bowls only after letting it get down to like 110 or so on the heat meter. Don't wanna get anything burnt in the chamber other than the herbs. That being said I also like to keep the whole inside area of the unit spotless and all the herbs pushed down past the top edge of the brass. Sometimes this means I can take 30 seconds or so with the cap off to get it all perfect.
I noticed if I store all the already vaped weed, that later on whenever run out and start the jonesing process, I can throw the browned weed pieces into a grinder, and if vaped right it will end up much more finer. This can either be made into bomb edibles or what I like to do, is revape it after chopping it thinner. I find turning it up to as high as 395 can get me high to da moon off this if I'm in a pinch, and provides at least a good few solid hits. You can then use the "extra-vaped" weed in edibles lol.
TL;DR,
This vape kicks ass if you use it properly in my opinion, the "2013" version has treated me righteously for a week or two now. Vape on
