Doesn't solve the problem for pending customers who may not want such "fuck ups" .
Indeed, it does not, and it is a problem that should be address. But all things considered, I think it's a small price to pay. Form follows function, IMO.

Almost coming on a year with the old ticker and its going strong. I too keep looking for a möbius piece but they are hard to find. I may go for a DG with fritted disc. Anyone use the fritted disc with their cloud?
I've ran through a Goldstein - really does well but IMO with the massive diffusion you lose some of the flavor.
My cloud came looking pretty good - the only concern I have ever had was the cord but I have been comforted by VXC that it is not an issue. Way I look at it is at least I have a warranty - I feel good knowing I could extend it as well.
Just to be completely honest, my Cloud+ also looks very beat up. No alignment on the two metal halves, I believe my bamboo is not completely straight, and I have a dent (can't really describe it) in the aluminum that looked like someone took a can opener and tried to open my Cloud+ up that way. The black heat shield also had considerable wear on it.Doesn't solve the problem for pending customers who may not want such "fuck ups" .

That being said, as long as the unit functions properly, which it is, I'm happy :-).

I'm actually quite shocked that clouds are being sent out in this condition and people are being cool about it, as well as vxl themselves.
the heat shield is painted so it's pretty easy to get marked up with general handling.
its painted. there may be slight imperfections here and there but after your first session you'll prolly forget all about it. its a beast at producing the dense sweet flavorful vapor. in the end isn't that really all that matters.
Anyone who isn't happy with the fit and finish of the Cloud should open a ticket with VXL support. Mentioning it here once is fine, but there's no need to keep repeating it. Arguing about the level of finish people should be happy with is also not acceptable.
Why isn't mentioning it more than one time acceptable? Shouldn't be hiding this kind of stuff from potential customers. This far in the game, its unacceptable they keep getting passes for mass failures, fit and finish issues or more importantly, receiving your cloud back from service in worst condition than when it was sent.
i'm just talking about a few marks here and there on the heat shield. for some its not a big deal.if the unit is misaligned then thats another story. i get where your coming from, but for me as long as the unit is working perfectly then a few marks here is there doesn't bug me.If you'd just bougth a new Ferrari from the dealership, and when they delivered it the panels were chipped, scratched up and/or generally misaligned, would you think "Oh well, it still goes around corners fast and that's what really matters" or would you march right back there and ask them WTF?
If I'm buying the vape equivalent of a Ferrari (and really, that's what the Cloud is), I expect it to look pristine as well as function well. I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation, and if they end up shipping me something that looks like a refurb it will be going straight back for a refund, not replacement. I haven't waited all this time for some retro-fitted ticker or whatever the hell is going on with all these reports of fit and finish issues. :/
I suppose if I bought my cloud to impress people and stave off a mid-life crisis I might feel this way. Likewise if a person ever buys a Ferrari just because it drives fast (I can assure you this has never happened) they may not give a shit about a cosmetic flaw.If you'd just bougth a new Ferrari from the dealership, and when they delivered it the panels were chipped, scratched up and/or generally misaligned, would you think "Oh well, it still goes around corners fast and that's what really matters" or would you march right back there and ask them WTF?
Yeah I wish it looked perfect, but I'll settle for it working damn near perfectly.i'm just talking about a few marks here and there on the heat shield. for some its not a big deal.if the unit is misaligned then thats another story. i get where your coming from, but for me as long as the unit is working perfectly then a few marks here is there doesn't bug me.
