just watched, well skimmed, your vid - i would estimate your first bowl that only covers the bottom of the screen to be 0.05g, the second one @ 0.1, the third @ 0.15, and the fourth @ 0.2+. have you ever actually weighed them out before?
I want to say that those measurements would be good estimates, but I couldn't say, as my scale only weighs down the the tenth of a gram, and I never bothered to weigh.
I think an ELB 20-30% full with just
topshelf herb could put out a very similar cloud. The kief I used I assume was pretty low-grade (lots of plant matter) as it was only $9/g
One other thing I forgot to mention with the video, it wasn't simply @ 1:30pm setting. I let it preheat at 3:30 for an hour, then turned it down to 1:30. I let it re-calibrate a little bit but still ripped it when it had a lot of that retained heat built up. I got noticeably better taste than if I had hit it @ a higher temp without changing it, but still got the monster cloud.
I use my Cloud at around 10:30am a lot for Sativa strains, and around 1:30-2pm for indica, etc...I stray below and above these temps, but those are my common spots. In the video I linked, I had the Cloud at noon IIRC, heated at the same temp for a while(well over an hour). The flower is what I would consider 'top shelf,' (see my pics in the My Stash thread).
I get great performance with my Cloud using any load size. I usually pack a bowl around 20%-70% depending on how much medicine I'm looking for...But, over the past two days, I've been vaping the smallest amounts possible, and still getting the same good results. I've had some kind of flu for the past couple days, and was finding the larger hits more irritating. So, I started packing less than a pinch (around the same or a little less than what I was using in my smallest load in the efficiency test video.) I was getting much more faint hits, (using my GBD FC bubbler) and they were much more soothing.
I still usually use the
two cap method for kief, but I occasionally mix it with flower in the ELB; I still end up with sticker/messier ELBs using the latter method, but maybe it's just the kief I'm using. I get pretty thick hits using just a little kief alone in two caps...Still hoping for some smaller ELBs though. I think it would be neat to have different sizes, even though we've proven that any size load works in the original ELBs.
