I think of this as my “ugly setup”—I don’t find this ashcatcher very attractive—but it sure is effective!

That water looks a bit high (no pun intended) to me, as in it looks like much water would go down the hose when you clear it..

Well, I didn't make it to Spannabis but had a fantastic 3 days in Granada. Hung out with my daughter and her mates - made me feel like 25 years old again. Visited the Alhambra on the first day, and watched the sunset (pleasantly stoned on weed and kief) overlooking the Palace from San Miguel yesterday evening ;). The 5 kids were mightily impressed with the 2018 M - they picked it up straight away - no combustion! Granada is super chill

I love my vapcaps. And, the best flavor of my (admittedly limited) experience comes from my e-nano. Malawi Gold, delicious

Do you think George grew up around dogs.......? Maybe that was a subconscious design influence.

.

I don’t think that was part of it because the original glass vaporizers didn’t look anything like dog whistles.

Just took the plunge on a Planet of the Vapes “One” (slightly modded Fury 2).
It’s a great “lazy” vape (F2). I am sure you will enjoy how easy it is to use. No technique, minimal maintenance... no fuss, no muss. Curious to hear your thoughts on it.
I did not need another vape!
If we only had stuff we needed, life would be much less exciting!

I’m hoping it will address some of my disappointments with the miqro—that it’s not truly a micro-doser, and that the invisible vapor makes it hard for me to calibrate my intake. fury 2 has so much love among VC-world, seemed like a good recommendation

Ah nice. Please report your findings. If that had a removable battery it would already be on its way to me.

Very preliminary impressions of POTV ONE, which arrived today:

Nicely packaged and presented, if you care about that (I do not).

Unit has a nice solid feel to it. Charged it as recommended (2 hours), then did 3 burn offs at 430F. Still has a plastic odor coming from the body mouthpiece attachment area), and a slightly different odor coming from the gaskets. Quick start manual said to do 1-3 burn offs, so I was hesitant to do more. Decided after burn off 3 to load it with some GSC and see how that went. Flavor of herb is very good, but still a lingering plastic taste. (Subsequently went to full manual online, where it says to repeat burn offs until there is no odor. Oops!)

I suspect I will really like this vape if that odor does fade, which it should. Because I loaded it with what I consider a micro-dose, about the amount that would loosely fit a vapcap bowl (one scoop of the pax loading tool), and got nice vapor at 330F. Switched from the bent glass mouthpiece to the plastic one, which I had washed in dish soap and water. Probably should do a burn off or 3 with that mouthpiece attached. Glass mouthpiece is very nice, plastic one got noticeably warm at 340F, so I imagine it could become uncomfortable at high temps.

I am one who likes to take a couple hits, then come back an hour later and take a couple more. This works great with vapcaps, and should work well with this vape too since it’s mostly convection and won’t keep cooking while it cools down. I can see this vape working well for me. Assuming the odor situation resolves. (POTV has a 14 day return policy if it doesn’t)

@-dab8-, I went with the miqro over fury2 a while back because of its removable battery. But wish I hadn’t let that sway me. For my usage style, I’ll easily get a day’s use on the ONE’s internal battery. And I’ve found the miqro frustrating for my style because if I load the micro amount that I want to vape, it’s vapor is virtually invisible, and so cool (not that that’s a bad thing) that I can’t tell what I’ve gotten. (I have asthma, so my inhalations can vary quite a bit day to day. If I can’t see or feel vapor, I have a hard time gauging what I’ve taken in.)

Also, I wish the silicone sleeve that comes with the Fury also came with the ONE. Seems like the sleekest pocket-carry option.

Here’s my longer review of the POTV ONE:

The plastic and silicone smells did not burn off with 3 burn offs, but did fade after I ran some herb through it. With that gone, I’ve got no complaints about this vape.

I like the way the glass pieces work-they are easy to keep clean, and can be hot-swapped easily, if I decide to finish out a bowl through water. Bonus: the Hula cooling stem for dynavap that Sneaky Pete sells fits well in the ONE’s accessory mouthpiece (and in smoke color, looks great).

I love the quick heat up, and the fact that I can microdose easily with it. That was my intention for the miqro and it worked less well for my usage pattern. I rarely use a whole 2 minute session on the ONE; I tend to just need 2 or 3 good long slow inhales. I’ve taken to taking two, turning it off, and using the third to help cool down the bowl, which I’ll return to later.

I’m not concerned about the aluminum bowl, YMMV. (There’s good discussion elsewhere on this forum.)

Flavor is quite good. Not at the level of the Lotus, which many consider among the best-tasting vapes around, or a good log vape, but quite pleasant for about the first half of the bowl. The later hits are fine too.

It feels easier to use out and about than vapcap, though truthfully I usually just bring a vape pen when away from home. Fits in a pants pocket, albeit a bit bulky compared to miqro because it’s thicker. This kind of stuff is so individual.

I like the haptic feedback. Bottom line: highly recommend.

(As an aside, I have had such a hard time learning to get consistent results from my Lotus. It was my first vape, and I was a noob not just to vaping, but to using cannabis at all. Vapcaps were my lifesaver: I learned what vapor should be like, how it should feel, etc. This week, somehow everything clicked and I’m getting great results with the lotus. Yay to options!)
