Hi there,
I got a HotShot second hand I was loving that thing. It was my most used IH by far. The problem is that I managed to break the micro usb (I pushed it out of the pcb).
I will order a brute in June (I live in EU but planning a trip in June to US) but I was wondering if there is any kind of fix to repair the HotShot in the meantime. I have a friend that can solder electronics if it is not too complecated...
Any help is really appreciated.

I think I've just killed my skelly with an Armored cap
(and did the same to my fluxer deluxe too so it's been quite an expensive day so far )
Is there a fuse or anything I can desolder and swap out to fix it?

It seems that armor cap hasn’t had a good impact on your IHs

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response. I've been on holidays down in Jamaica and this is my first time checking in. Enjoying the local Ganja and lazy pool/beach side days. I daren't use the Armored or the Ballr caps in either of my IHs (Skelly and PSMini) now to be honest, after my initial testing.

Is it actually safe to heat them in the Skeleton and PSmini

I have not actually tested, but I'd think it would be safe.
The heater itself is rated for 100 watts but would not test at that as it is a china rating. However, with the normal cap we are only pulling around 25 watts. So, unless there is more than double the iron content, it should be fine.
