Mine is a little over 3.5" tall. Thanks, I'll go do that now. Do you happen to know what size Mason Jar it is (how tall)?

I'm gonna make a guess at 3.5+" it should be an 8 oz. jar. It should be a tad less than 3" in diameter.
I sure hate to look this stupid but I can't find the way to send a message to Pipes so I can order that Jarhead. I shouldn't have to "Start a conversation" over this request, should I? Is this something we all have to vote on?
Yep, 'start a conversation' is how you initiate a PM.
Go for it, you'll be fine
Well that's sure different. Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow. (KC wore me out watching them beat NE!)
No, M'am, I don't have the PS - just the roughstyle Skeletor
Wanted to make my own enclosure but meanwhile I like the pure roughstyle very much
@fcmember, the JarHead comes in a mason jar, & you can put the Skeletor into any container you like, as long as you can put 2 holes in it; 1 to heat the vc & 1 for the ac charging plug. Just be sure which one you order. Are you sure you want the JarHead & not the Skeletor? The JarHead doesn't use batteries, it's for a/c plug-in use only & can be used with an inverter. The Skeletor uses rechargeable batteries which are charged via a/c plug-in when depleted. If you need the most portability, get the Skeletor.
HTH!
I'm seeing from the pics that @Pipes has used at least 3 different jars for the JarHead, so dimensions will vary. My Jarhead has straight sides, for example, rather than the more rounded one Stu has and is 2.75" across the top and a hair under 4" tall. Assuming, of course, that Stu's is not a Skeltor in his own jar.Mine is a little over 3.5" tall.
You bring up the issues I've been trying to sort out for some time. I leaned toward the Skeletor because it can be used with batteries, but then I thought I'd probably never be needing it out of the house as I could just use my torch for those times (and if I'm driving I won't be 'using' that day anyway...). If I do want to use a heater, say, at a friend's house, I can just take the Jarhead and plug it in. And its not like I need rechargables for a camping trip or anything (I'm unfortunately beyond that). And also, those batteries are likely not long-lived before needing charging again?
Let me know if I'm off track here. I do like Mason jars a lot so I can't think of a container I'd rather have it in. Do you know if we have any choice about Mason Jar size and color?
Thanks for helping!
Yep I'm with @GreenHopper. My Skelator batteries last a very very long time. Eventually, shortly before they go completely dead, I notice a sharp decline in performance and must heat beyond the click for several more seconds than my usual 4 one thousands. And also, those batteries are likely not long-lived before needing charging again?
Batteries have been clocked at about 300 dips in the induction coil or about 50 bowls if you go back a page or 2
Or about 3 days with HG2 batteries for me
(I'm dipping more than 6 times per bowl tho so it's less than 50 bowls in 3 days)
I absolutely get it. I just don't FEEL tethered to an outlet because when I am not near one I still have the torch. I don't MIND using the torch at all, I just like the convenience of not having to if I am sitting in my living room or watching TV.l just like the convenience of cordless portability of the PS or Skeletor & not having to be tethered to an a/c outlet. Even if I'm in the house & want to use it in the kitchen, or sitting on the couch, or in the bedroom, or while I'm taking a bath, I don't have to worry about my proximity to an a/c outlet or using an extension cord or having to use an inverter.
Interesting,
My current habit is to pack the bowl 2/3rds full.
Heat in Portsides for 4.5 (mississippi's) and toke click to click through my bubbler.
This usually lasts me about 2hrs and I tend to do 4 or 5 of those an evening.
With this routine I tend to end up recharging every 5-6 weeks and I do it when there I'm down to the yellow light.
