Hey guys, thanks to your help and Dave's advice, I was finally able to get a thick hit from my ash lost dog!
I let it heat up for 3 hours, packed a generous amount, and BOOM I was higher than I've ever been from one hit. Like bazzles said, these things have the power to use up a whole stem in one hit. I might have to push the screen back a little to make the load last a little longer. This vape is amazing, no wonder there's no negative reviews on this thread!
But one thing that I noticed was that the vapor was really hot, and I was coughing for a minute after exhaling a huge cloud. I'm thinking of buying a water filtration device, do any of you have any suggestions for this? Should I buy an Aqua Vape or use that money on a cheap water pipe instead? My budget is around 60 bucks, or 150 if it's on Amazon (I have a lot of gift cards lying around, but I doubt anything good will be on Amazon...)
Also, how many stems do you guys usually go through in one session?

I have not used an AV but as someone else put it, Dogs love water. A UD will work with any $20 local head shop water pipe or just about any kind of bubbler you can find. I use a small 4 arm tree bubbler. Others use AV and it seems to work for them. Either way you choose to go I think you will fall in love with your UD all over again.

As far as your other question, I usually load 1 .10 bowl and get 3 huge hits running through water. I get another 2 smaller hits and empty the bowl. That is my average session.

Do you think I should get a cheap glass piece to start off, or should I just invest in a quality brand name one cuz I'm probably going to want one later anyway?

barca, I find that everyonedoesit.com has lower prices on EHLE's and low shipping costs.

you could also buy an ssfg or rxindustries glass straight tubes, they seem to be the cheapest from my research and are diffused, USA made, and cost both cost about $70 after shipping.

What do you UD owners prefer for vaporbonging, large or small tubes?

No Dog yet, but I love my 250ml Ehle. I had a 500ml before this one but it was a bit on the large side for vapor imo, plus I didn't really like having to suck up half a liter of air every time, before I got to the vapor.

Do get a diffused downstem with whatever you get, it makes a world of difference.

Also, most threads about vapor bonging have positive reviews of the hvy mini beaker in them, but after a quick google search I can't find it for sale anywhere. Anyone know a site that sells these?

Barca I REALLY like my aqua vape and a friend of mine picked one up for his UD as well. We both can not suggest it enough. It is perfect and nice and neat and not too large. I am actually cleaning mine today

Darkrom, isn't it clumsy to sit down in between hits, or does is just kinda sit on the Dog's stem? I would think it would be rather top heavy that way?


That sure is a nice one too Barca, I personally am not a fan of ice-notches but I love the recessed joint on that one.

Perhaps it's best to steer you towards some of the dedicated glass threads at this point, the mods don't seem to like it when we discuss glass to much in other threads.

I had a Bday UD at first with only what I call "the 1st stem version "(pretty thin, not rig ids etc...) so they were not convenient to let the AV on thop of the UD!
I just received a batch of accessories from Dave and opened the box: the stems are from another Silicone for sure!
Much more rigid, walls are much more thick and I can tell (yes I now have got pretty good skills in silicone analysis ROFL) it is the medical high temps resistant one. Probably the very subtile flavor of silicone I could notice on V1 is now an old issue (I'll confirm that soon)! But any way my point is that with these new stems, the AV will stand, NO PROBLEM!

They look good together, is your UD about the same size as Abysmal's or is it one of the bigger ones?

edit: never mind, I just saw it next to the coffee-mug on the UD-sold-page. It's a tall one! I don't know how that AV would sit on a twig, I think it would cause stability issues.

Darkroom, is it hard to take off the silicon stem each time to clear the AV? That would be my only concern with going that route, and the awkwardness of it not being able to stand up I guess... oh and also, Darkroom didn't you have a video of you using your beautiful UD with the aquavape? if so do you happen to have the link still

I took many video attempts but apparently my cellphone (1080p too!) can't capture the vapor properly even though it is very visible to the naked eye. Very strange.

I don't pull off the silicone to clear the AV, I lift the AV with the silicone and bowl still attached off the UD and keep inhaling while I do it. That clears the AV and prevents any bud from falling out of the bowl. I find it is very easy to use. I've taken it in my car or my friends car a few times which is honestly sort of a hassle, but well worth it. I LOVE the moisture and filtration it provides.

Darkrom, that picture convinced me to get the Aqua Vape! It looks a lot more portable than carrying around a small bong. Did you just cut off the extra length off a normal UD stem and insert the AV in there?
I have been looking around, and the cheapest one I can find online is this one (50 bucks):

i like to fill the little pail about 1/3 or 1/4 full of essential oil, and this will usually last me all day.

I usually put some himalaya salt and drip few drops there, sometimes i add 3-5 drops to water depending on the fragrance. My Favorite blend is 1 drop each : Blue Lotus , Elemi , Clary sage , Sweet basil . Lavender and lemon is also nice .. never tried orange and lavender.. might be too strong .
When i need quick evaporation of the oil i don't dillute them .. just few drops in the cup.

I use the mini stems that Dave sells for the glass stems, but yeah its just a regular silicone bowl cut to a smaller length. Seriously enjoy that AV. I know I love mine!

Yea when darkrom sent me that picture a month or two ago I said the same thing. The aqua vape is extremely convenient and compliments the UD amazingly. Gonzo, what size is your bubbler? In the video it looks pretty big. The standard size might be another option for me cuz it's a lot cheaper than the aquavape. But then again, I'm probably gonna be using these for several years, so I guess I might as well buy quality stuff.

Mine is the standard size. GRAV LABS makes really nice glass. I have owned one of their larger bubblers as well but sold it because the size was too big. I find my UD works well with just about any piece of glass though. I nearly purchased the AV as well.
