Put the entire stem in a saucepan with enough milk to cover. Bring slowly to heat...if you have a thermometer, keep it between 190-210F. You will see you stems become clean in just a few minutes.
Cannabis compounds are soluble in fat, hence the milk (don't forget to use whole milk). so they dissolve into the milk. Since these compounds have already been decarboxylated in your vape, the leftovers you coaxed out of the stem are ready to go for our psychoactive purposes.
Well that was interesting. Or it might have been, except I was asleep in nothing flat. I used heavy whipping cream because I had some on hand that I needed to use up. About a pint. Took my two remaining stems (I have lost or broken the rest) and plopped them into that. Of course they instantly disappeared under the cream. So then I attempted to fish one out to look and see how the resin meltage was coming along and PHWOOM! It shoot out of the jaws of the tongs and bounced off the tile countertop and broke.
So now I have ONE stem left LOL!
Eventually I gave up on it melting out all by itself, dug up some Tuaca because that is the strongest thing I have on hand that isn't buried in a box somewhere - actually I had some rum that has mysteriously disappeared during one of several visits from plumbers, but what the hey, it was cheap Costco rum that didn't taste good and kept giving me a headache anyway.
But back to the Tuaca. I poured a teeny amount into the sole surviving stem and shook it around. A lot. Dumped it into the pan where the cream continued gently burbling its way towards khoya-hood. Did this 3 or 4 times until I gave up on getting that slick of cream off the inside of the stem. Then I let the cream cook almost all the way down into Khoya - which is the base for a whole lot of Indian desserts that I never make because the amount of cream required is truly stupendous when you're cooking for more than just one person. I make gulab jamun the cheaty-way, with Bisquick. But this stuff is really yummy. I'd forgotten how good it is. I stopped short of full-on khoya, just cooked it down to a creamy texture sort of like very soft cream cheese.
This I stirred into a half cup of hot chocolate.
WOW! Jeez Louise that was one delicious cup of khoya-and-vaguely-Tuaca-flavored hot chocolate!
Honestly I felt no "effect" per se. I took one cup and waited about an hour, nothing. So used up the rest in a second cup of hot chocolate. I still felt nothing, right up until I zonked out and didn't wake up until 8:30 the next morning. Given I am usually up with the rising sun (aka 5 or 6 AM) I actually DID oversleep.
I am at about 5200 feet here so the boiling point is about 202F, and I kept it at a very low simmer for at least a couple of hours. Might even have been 3. So I'm pretty sure the heat was sufficient unto the day. Great for sleeping soundly - but not so much in the fun department, LOL!
Plus the risk to my sole remaining stem - probably won't be trying this again any time soon. I have lost or broken all but one of my original stems, LOL!
Anyone else find that the nylon stem is a satisfying medium for flavor profiles?
I broke the dog out last night (been on the go for the past couple of months and relied on the ol VapCap) and alternated the VVPS to 9.7-10. Grinded some Rolex OG and some Glueberry then commenced on a journey to rendezvous with bliss.
First time ever doing this with my UD, as I generally put it on 11 and rip titties thru a 14in stemless. I was genuinely blown away by the session.
I don't care for the nylon stems because I can't see what's happening in there, plus too hard to clean properly. But lots of people swear by them. As long as I remember to use teensy amounts in my glass stem, I honestly get about the same result with my glass stems anyway. One day maybe I'll learn how to use a bong properly and see how it works through a bong.
Probably not for quite awhile though. As soon as I finish fixing the bathroom this house goes up for sale and I'm moving to an illegal state where there is little hope of that changing any time soon.
In the meantime I am sticking with my UD and its one lonely remaining glass stem, which I run at about 11.4v these days.
Yay da underdog!
