Thanks to all those who volunteered, we've selected our space monkey for this mission and are happy to announce @Tekhie will be taking flight shortly. :science:

In other news we have some stuff left over from the 'yard sale' and are slashing prices even further.. the stragglers are free to a good home with any purchase over $50. Just put 'gimmie gimmie gimmie' and the item# in your order comments and we shall provide.

This is what's left:

Wall-wart VVPS with LED Extension display.
Goes up to 12v, plugs into 120v outlet. (2 of these left)

Thank you!! That clears everything up!

I knew I had some misunderstanding.

All along I kept thinking that the voltage that I start with once I connect my dog would be the highest temp that I can achieve. Where if I accidentally lower it, the new voltage would become the highest temperature and I cannot increase it past this new temperature. Thanks for the clarifcation!

Cant wait to use my dog again tonight!!

Excellent, happy to clear up the confusion. Enjoy!

Well, coincidentally enough I just shaved my head so I'm ready for orbit lol. And I once went to the 4th dimension on LSD so I fit the bill there :lmao:

But you don't seem to have a shortage of volunteers so I'm happy to let them have some fun this time

Man those 4th thru 7th dimensions are the best! :brow:

You got the first thing to change..........adjust your draw speed to your dog's characteristics......experiment. No 2 dogs are alike, no technique is alike. One of the subtle beauties of analog vaping.
@mucsusn thank you for the advice I'll give it ago!

@underdog is it ok to use a HT.. I only see people flipping the NonG and then flipping the dog over onto it.

Sounds like you might be drawing too fast so I'd start there. UDs and Logs in general are most effective with longer, slow/smooth draws instead of a 'ripping' draw. After that adjustment I'd make sure you're not over packing the stem, sometimes people try and load too much thinking it'll make for more vapor but it's frequently the opposite. Lastly if neither of those two help much you might need to let it heat up a bit longer to fully heat saturate the wood (the core comes up to temp in 2-3 minutes) so it doesn't drag the core temp down by conduction. :science:

Keep us all posted so we can help you get your setup all dialed in and on the bus to foggy town

Will do .

Here is my belated review, as it turns out sometimes you can't wait on quality medicine.

I received the OS nylon DD, and 18mm nong. Firstly they are made nearly bombproof it would take some serious effort to break them if you are prone to breaking shit (as are many in my circle)these are for you.

Secondly the OS bowl is perfect for sharing or a good session. It takes less technique to load than the regular nylon as you just throw a pinch in there and it's good to go, one thing I like about the SS tip is I'll let it sit on the ud for a minute before hitting it to get a little conduction to get better extraction.

Initially I was reluctant to begin test with mid-grade as I have had bad experiences vaping mid, but I broke down and loaded some up and to my surprise it fogged right up.

Overall I believe that the nylon stems hold the most value in terms of longevity.

Four years ago I discovered vaping and the UD and of all the vapes I've purchased I've had the most pleasant experience from UD they're IMO the best value in terms of functionality and price

I finally got around to taking the 14mm OS NonG for a spin and jumpin' jiminy, it packs a punch. I reckon depending on how you pack it's 3-4 'regular' NonGs worth. Both the herb as well as yours truly are nice and evenly toasted afterwards.

What's most interesting is that despite the increased amount of herb, I clear it in the same number of bubbler rips. I guess the bigger barrel opens up the airflow and it looks like my Standard Core 2 has no problem keeping up. I tend to load my regular NonG such that I get one big milky hit, and then a slightly gentler one afterwards. And with the OS NonG, same deal, but I'm getting 3-4 times the effect. It's a bit of a surprise the first time. :)

It's a really great addition to the lineup, but I hope both sizes will remain available., I think they both have their place. I'm still going to use my regular NonG for evening coasting, and bust out the clown cannon when I need to get to hyperspace. Tonight I used both: a couple of big lifts, then little stabiliser thrusts for a smoother descent from orbit.

Yep, I use a hydrotube with mine. Just takes a little more reconfiguring and care. I tamp the load a little and give the nong a gentle tap on the grinder to make sure I'm not gonna dump herb all over.
You could also use a second screen to keep it in there. That's what I've done.
Edit: I've done it with both glass and ss adapters.

Just wanted to highlight this part:

"...the stragglers are free to a good home with any purchase over $50. Just put 'gimmie gimmie gimmie' and the item# in your order comments and we shall provide."

Though if you prefer to just purchase for posted price on the pictures, that's cool too.

Also, whenever our tester peeps are ready to use their 10% off coupons (after having posted a review), just let me know and I'll get one made for you. There's no time limit, so no worries. :)

By the way, I'm working on getting footage of the OS NonG in action, it's just taking a bit of planning with my lovely assistant and hand model. :)

Can't wait to see more of those OS NonGs in action!
Sounds like they are exactly what i would need to get a bit more towards a session. Looking forward to get my hands on one and try it out.

Heading to the local wood dealer to pick up some exotic essences.

... running the flux capacitors in ...

So the new power supplies make time travel possible?!

Anyway, I bought my figured walnut UD during the birthday special in September last year. I don't have much to say other than this is a killer vape. It's been happily chugging along. Every now and then I put on a coat of underbutter to keep it feeling extra smooth and to give it a subtle sheen.

I use three different stems, depending on my mood:
(1) glass stem - I find this is the king of flavor. Seems to prefer a slower, deliberate draw. I find it to be the warmest vapor (not harsh though)
(2) nylon - has the least flavor, likes a fairly quick draw, seems to be the coolest vapor
(3) steel lite - I find it to be a middle ground between glass and nylon in terms of flavor and vapor temp. Also seems to work best with a more rapid draw.

When I first got into log vapes, I thought I'd be strictly glass for life... But I find myself reaching for nylon or steel most of the time these days. But, I like having choice, to mix it up.

Protip: this has been mentioned numerous times, but it's worth repeating. Try to blow ABV out of the stem as soon as possible after you take your last draw. I find it keeps the screen clean for a much longer time. I used to leave the ABV in for a while, then pick it out later. I found this method had me cleaning screens pretty frequently. But I haven't cleaned my screens since I started the "immediate purge" blowout technique.

This is an invaluable tip, for any vaporizer! I always clean out my glass/screen/chamber on my other device and attachments to keep them clean. But with all the other devices i own, i have been using custom little debowlers i've made from small glass containers. ( Container can still close with a cap over the pin. )

With the underdog, the preferred technique seems to be inhaling to back and blowing to empty the chamber. Doing an additional draw if anything gets stuck in there so that it blows out cleanly.

With that being said, what techniques / containers are people using to empty out the ABV from their stems?

With blowing, the only option i've seen on here so far is the muslin ABV bag. But that seems like it would get dirty really and could be hard to cleanly empty out.

So i am now back into research mode to find or build another option.

Best inspiration i got so far is the Vaporizer Duff Jar from 7th Floor. Thinking of getting or putting something similar together.

Edit: Also picked up some nice Massaranduba and Purpleheart to make some stem stands. Can't wait to get those started.

I just buy hella muslin bags. Dump everything from all vapes into em, empty when done. I've only reused one time, just to test it. Don't think I'll do it again.

You do lose a small bit, but it works just fine.

I have a huge mason jar I empty the muslin bags into when full.

Will give those bags a try but, I need to figure out a way to blow it out into a glass container and have another screened air vent so that i dont blow out the ABV it contains each time.

I also keep a large poptop mason jar of 1.5L for my ABV, its about time you do some cooking or extracting!

What have you tried with your ABV in the past?

Crockpot + coconut oil + baked goods.

Just made a very nice batch of brownies, taste and effect wise from 30g of that ABV. I only cooked it for like 2hrs in the crockpot but it was just a test. KOd someone with pretty low tolerance from one.

I usually cook for like 6-8hrs on low. No idea what I'll try next time, but I like the coconut oil bc it can be used in pretty much anything. When I made a batch in December, I was dropping a scoop of the oil into my morning coffee.

Also if you just wrap the bag around the stem and then blow in, so you're closing off the opening besides where the stem is stuck in, you don't lose anything from blowing it out.

I understand that part, muslin bag are quite porous so that will help, but will also cause small fine particulate of ABV to leak of of that bag with the air as it escapes. Trying to improve that part bit. (love doing this kind of stuff, so its not a chore)

So far, i've found some scientific glass or a build a bong bases that would allow me to recreate something similar to the Duff Jar. Still sourcing materials but it seems like i could get one thrown together for cheaper.

I have only done Canabutter and tinctures so far, will give coconut oil a try next.

The muslin bag is an automatic step for me, right after I clear the stem. I've been using the same bag for about six months, and can't say it's particularly dirty or smelly.

I empty it out into a large jar, it never gets more than maybe a fifth full, and what I do is place the opening of the bag over the jar's mouth, and push the bag as if to turn it inside out, and then once it's almost entirely empty, I do turn it inside out and shake it a bit inside the jar.

The mesh of the bag is fairly fine, and I can't say I've ever seen any evidence of ABV 'dust' coming through. This is with a fairly medium-coarse grind, but I also don't use a screen in my grinder, so the kief is integrated into the load.

If I had to guess, I'd say the small path and close quarters inside the stems, combined with the air pressure and heat when you draw, serve to tighten up the herb and glom any micro bits onto the bigger ones. I imagine this is universal, but my stem loads shrink quite a bit in use, getting tightened up against the screen. But when I puff them out into the bag, there's no evidence of particles finer than the gaps in the bag's fabric.

I don't usually save ABV (living in NorCal and all) but when I have I've gone both ways, the muslin bag and the special made jar way. For the jars I used mason jars (one for each size stem) and drill a hole that would snugly fit the stem tip and a larger vent hole somewhere else on the lid. Then I hot glued a 'screen' across the inside of the vent hole made out of various things like coffee filter, fabric (like muslin), a fine stainless screen, etc. That worked out pretty good and prevented blow back from covering me in abv lol.

The muslin bag did work fine like people are describing but like you I enjoy making stuff like the jars so it was a fun project to play with.

Thanks for the feedback, Great idea with the mason jar lids! Much simpler approach then what i was going for. Will test out an all glass option along with some of those modified lids.

Sound like the bags with work out better then i expected, but will still experiment a bit.:science:
Doubt i'll come up with anything better, but if i can put together a decent glass duff jar with cheap parts. I'll report back.
