why no one uses timers at all?
I think my Underdog is over 1.5 yrs old now,Any potential core loosening due to expansion/contraction was limited to very early generation UDs and is, generally speaking, no longer something to be concerned about.
The biggest cause of wear 'n tear on more modern Dogs is gradual degradation of the wooden body and the heating element from the heat of operation. I think a timer is a great idea if it suits a persons usage habits, in the case of Spruce's use he might see an increase in the Dogs lifespan by all those hours his timer has it turned off. Not insignificant.
This is a practice that I've used since I got my original dbv years ago. It was on 24/7 for several of those years because of the same beliefs (that the heating element would die quicker with constant expansion and contraction) and I'm still on my original heating element for that vape and have never had a single vape break down on me yet. Maybe it's luck but I'll keep going with my trend til I see physical proof that it's not the way to go ...
Just by varying the distance between the herb & the heatport?I have been manipulating my UD to get at least 3 levels of vapor density.. I have been starting off lightly and stepping it up until it is done.. I honestly find that this is as much temp control that I need.. IMO that digital precision temp control is over rated, as far as being important goes.. IMO multiple approximate temp ranges work well enough..
LOL.. I didn't realize that I even posted that..Just by varying the distance between the herb & the heatport?

Maybe try emailing Dave? He'll be able to help. Might be able to find something at Radio Shack or something like that. Dave will be able to give you the specs you need.Hey guys not sure what to do, maybe ya'll can help. My wall wart died last night found out this morning, no big deal got another one plugged it in, dog doesnt get hot, so I tried a diffrent outlet still nothing. I get my back up twig works fine all day untill now, my other wall wart is dead. So now I have 2 dogs 2 wall warts and nothing works its saturday night super bowl sundays tommrow, any thoughts?
Weather was nice last few days no lighting, what makes two wall warts die within 24 hrs, just bad luck?
Now the big question where can I get a new wall wart or anything to get me vaping soon, anything I can find at walmart?
Thanks for reading
I don't have a multimeter and know very little about wiring so I hope my UD doesn't brake.Do you or a buddy have a multimeter? If so you could cut the tip of one of your dead wall-warts and measure the wires directly for voltage. The most common point of failure for power supplies is broken wires in the last 6" so if you could find out if that's the case here you might be able to just stick a new tip on yours after cutting off the bad end section. Very easy to do, if you want to give it a shot send me a message and I'll tell what you need and where you could find it.
