Excuse the excessive amount of writing but here is my update after much time spent scouring the net looking at every CBD product I can find. The world of legal CBD's is made ever more confusing by the way in which these companies have multiple online stores/faces/labels (not just stockists) otherwise known as 'umbrella' companies. And this is a kind of summary of my findings.
As
@herbivore21 informed me on another thread, to create a CBD e-liquid that is smooth in consistency (unlike Medivapour that looks gunky) the CBD crystals would need to be melted using some sort of solvent. Near all the CBD e-liquid companies fail to mention how they manage to do this. Such as CBD Gold. The CBD Gold e-liquid I have been using has such a fake sickly flavour it is unbearable. Yes the CBD works, but the flavour is bad enough to make you not use their product at all. So I was looking for an alternative. Then I found this company called Enecta who make CBD e-liquid called Ambrosia; and it seems a bit more ethical -

Enecta, as well as having the honesty to list ethanol as one of the ingredients (this will be the solvent used to melt CBD crystals), also use natural and organic flavourings. Enecta is linked to Endoca, one of the more prominent and trustworthy
looking CBD companies online. Enecta is also co-owned by a company called Grasscompany -
https://www.grasscompany.com/en/cbd-oil/ - On Endoca's website it only sells very expensive 10gram tubes of its hemp paste, but on Grasscompany you can purchase affordable 1gram Endoca pots of the same paste! Slightly confusing as to why they have split everything up in this way.
I ordered two pots of Enectar Ambrosia e-liquid in Marihuana flavour and also Peach Tea, both 100mg CBD. It came this morning and it tastes soooo much better than CBD Gold's disgusting flavourings. Very happy with it. The Marihuana flavour doesn't taste like weed, but it isn't sickly sweet at all! And is soooo much more pleasant and clean to vape because of this. So a thumbs up from me for Enectar. I ordered the Ambrosia through
https://www.cbdoilsuk.com/ who are the only UK stockist I could find that seemed to sell it, and that also
seem to have a bit of quality control. All the product they sell are by companies who
look like they are being honest IMO. They
don't sell products such as PlusCBD Gold concentrate for example, which I would keep away from; PureCBD Gold are owned by Cannavest who were under investigation for selling dodgy products. Look up Hemp oil Hustlers for more info on them. It is clearly advisable to get trustworthy organic sources who not only test for CBD content in their product but also things like mould and heavy metals.
Alot of the other CBD E-liquid companies either have juice with nasty fake flavourings, or have juice that looks gunky and not a smooth consistency and as I mentioned earlier this is likely because they do not use ethanol; but I would also suspect that juice that is not smooth would cause problems in the vape.
I have not received my purchase from CBD Brothers yet (who clearly tried to assimilate the name of the famous Stanley brothers who developed Charlottes Webb). I probably won't even use it when it arrives as I'm not sure I have enough faith that their product is clean. Seeing as they say themselves in their disclaimer not to rely on anything they say on their own website, it seems only right that I shouldn't.
There are other high end legit
looking companies such as CBDforME that are not as prominent in google search; It took me ages to come across Enectar and Grasscompany's website. I'm sure there are other good companies out there. But the way they spread themselves out over loads of different websites makes things more difficult. It is likely a way of spreading out the risk, incase a company gets in any legal troubles the others will remain. But there is also the fact that some companies are trying to give the consumer the feeling of choice by repackaging the same product under different names. Or simply buying a product in bulk, rebranding it, and upping the price.
Also both CBD Brothers and cbdoils.co.uk don't take payment directly through their website, likely because PayPal won't support them, and ask instead that you pay through direct bank transfer.
As of yet I'm unsure what is the best CBD product to vape without the use of e-liquid. Endoca's products look the most promising, but I feel the crystals will be too strong to vape undiluted. The gram of Endoca paste on Grasscompany states it is 100mg of CBD but I'm unsure if this means in total or per mg of the pastes weight. I'm going to assume it means per mg of the paste. As has been pointed out to me earlier that 100mg in terms of e-liquid means per ml of liquid. So to achieve the same effect that I get from the CBD e-liquid (functional day time effect) I would have to do very small dabs of the paste. I'm not even sure if Endoca's 'paste' is ok to vape????
Call me mad, and maybe it's a bad idea - any advice/knowledge welcome, but I was thinking of making my own 'CBD hemp hash' so to speak; inspired by 'honey bud' or 'moon rocks'. I was thinking to order Trompetol XQ organic hemp directly from their Czech website (other stockists massively inflate the price), remove all the seeds and put in the coffee grinder to turn it into powder. Then mix it with Endoca hemp paste or maybe CBDforME's oil, as a binder and add 10-15% terpenes, in the hope of creating a more flavoursome and substantial quantity of product with the right dilution for my needs. This is just a thought though. I know that it is likely that the hemp taste from the Trompetol plant and Endoca paste will be overpowering, and/or if I use CBDforME's oil then it may be to thin and not bind properly. I think Endoca's paste actually contains plant matter already. So maybe it won't be able to absorb much more plant material.
Anyway this is where I'm at. Since I have been using CBD products I have only consumed THC after 11pm, and no more than 1 or 2 bowls (down from approx 7 a day). It has not been an effort or a compromise to do so, so I am very happy and positive that I'm moving in the right direction.
Edit: Found another CBD e-liquid company that have a CBD mg intake guideline based on 2mg instake per day and brakes it down into 'per puff' of their eliquid. This clarifies some of the things I was wondering about. I wouldn't be surprised if it is Enectar under a different name as they put the ejuice bottle in a similarly designed cardboard/tube.
