Yup.........kinda grim but great show. Watching all episodes of True Detective that I DVR'd awhile back and it's kinda got the same vibe going on. Liking it as well too.
The quality of TV shows now is really rivaling some of the best that movies have offered up.

I need to catch up on The Strain. The last 2 episodes. It's a really scarey show.
Outlander is awesome. Love historical fiction.
The Leftovers, I'm still trying to figure out. Some kind of rapture, I get that. (Spoiler) The son that was in the rapture is back? There's so many dream segments in the last episode.
Lwein - I watched episode one the first season of American Horror. I like it. Fuck you comcast I had to pay $1.99. Like $200 monthly isn't enough? $17.99 for the whole season 1 of American Horror Story.

So I'm up to episode 6 in True Detective. For me, a TV show is beyond great when I find myself can't waiting to see the next episode and that is exactly what happened with this show. With the viewing of every episode, it slowly sunk it's hooks into me where it got to the point that I didn't want a particular episode to end. GREAT SHOW. The creators really know how to build the tension and keep us guessing as to what's really going on.

Sherlock - So good, only 3 episodes per season with each being 90mins long. Waiting for the next season is the biggest torture in television history. Very clever.
Utopia - About a secret very powerful group who are trying to make most of the worlds population sterile in order to prevent over-population, but seriously read up on it yourself I can't do it justice without rambling. This is being Americanized soon, however I would highly recommend you watch the original UK version. I'll be very surprised if anyone else can do it better. The acting and cinematography is unreal.
Arrested Development - With the amount of gags you're liable to miss first time, it's so easy to re-watch. One of my favorite comedies.
House of Cards - Kevin Spacey just ups it to new levels. Considering re-watching it now actually!
Suits - Definitely my guilty pleasure watch. Parts of it are brilliant, but I can't stand the whole pointless relationship drama between Mike and Rachel! Sometimes it's over literally nothing. Harvey is one cool customer though.
So excited for South Park to come back, I will be a lost individual when Matt Stone and Trey Parker decide to finish. Even though are hugely recognized, I have a feeling that it will only be in years to come. when there isn't anyone to fill that void, that will people realize how good they actually were.

A breaking Bad marathon on AMC today -9-28-14. At 5 PM around Seattle and surrounding areas. Check times in your neck of the woods if interested.
Watched the mid season finale of Outlander last night, it was very good. Resumes in January. I like how they handle the sexual scenes in this series. I love listening to a Scottish accent.

Wow !!! Just saw Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways on HBO.
The premise is that they travel to different cities and really dig into the musical history of each city so that they could get a taste of the city's influences and incorporate that into some studio work.
This episode was Chicago and man, the old black and white photos and film with things like Muddy Waters in the studio and Billy Guy in concert, and just the city back in 30's and 40's.........interviews with engineers, studio owners, artists. Got into both blues and punk pretty heavy. Lots of stuff from Naked Raygun, Cheap Trick, etc.....
The show really isn't about the band so even if you don't like FF, ya still gotta check this out.

Awesome show Foo Fighters Sonic Hwy. I wasn't sure what it was from the title? As lwien mentioned, Its about different musical bands. Has some of the history and some great tidbits of info about the bands origins. I really enjoyed it. Bill Maher preceded the show, so good lead in.

Will chime in with my disgust momentairly, just queued up the episode.
True Detective was an awesome watch! Definitely recommend that.
Loved Entourage. Waiting for the movie.
Dexter was good until that horrible ending.
Ray Donovan is pretty good.
The Unit was great too until they got canceled. It was a good run though.
The Blacklist is an interesting watch.
Wilfred is an awesome show, definitely should watch this too.
Couldn't get into Penny Dreadful, first episode was weird... Love GoT though.

So I watched John Oliver last night and I usually tune in for the comedy, but last night just pissed me off......not at Oliver, but at my countries bureaucratic bull shit.
The only thing that saved it for me was the doggie supreme court.
Quite sad. I am usually always mad, embarassed, disgusted,etc, after watching his show. They should let John Oliver and crew take over Sunday mornings, "Meet the Press".

Love old school TV western shows like Gunsmoke, Big Valley and Bonanza. Years ago my dad was in the military and stationed in Germany. At the age of 5 or 6 I remember in the early 60s listening to Gunsmoke on the radio at night. We couldn't get TV where we were, everything would have been in German anyway.
